OH also of note on these Konigs. They say they are 0 offset, but they are most definitely NOT. I left the front passenger side panasport on the car. The panasport sets in toward the car more than 1/2" more than the Konig. The konigs stick out more. I took a panasport and konig and lay them down next to each other and the tire itself is the same height, so it HAS to be in the offset of the mounting flange. This is troubling as when I turn the tire, their are times I have less than 0.045" clearance between the tire and the front side lower valance. I have not tried this yet, but when I back up and turn, I think this is going to grind the body work. I have not tried yet.

Decided to slap some meatballs on it for kicks. I think it is coming together. I will get the bubbles out later. I am chasing an aggravating electrical issue that popped up out of no where.

I am not sure I like them.. HAHAHAHAAH I think my car needs to be lower for it to work. I will wait until I get my 240Z side sticker on to make up my mind. also may paint my rear spoiler. Have to commit to the look before I give in. A spring change is out of the question as I just put those Eibachs on. I can finally get a floor jack under the engine crossmember and I love it!

Okay, I mounted this side on and dropped the car. First I had no idea I had burned through so much of my old Yokohama S drives. They are over half gone. Second. I am not totally sure on the look. I think maybe once I get the 240Z black door stickers on it may look better. I have grown so accustomed to the Panasports, these look really different. The front centercap is NOT going on. Without some hammer work. For comparison

New seats and floor mats 240z advice
Okay another option. Get in touch with a good local upholstery shop. I had the same question about recovering my seats or going with some Kameari seats. Besides the cost to fit the Kameari's their was still a question of if it would fit in the car correctly AND if I would fit in to the seats! Lots to gamble on for over a 2000 dollar investment. I chose to redo the OEM seats, but took it up a notch. I skipped the factory vinyl kits and bought a synthetic leather seat. I also decided to buy brand new foam while I was at it so the seats would ultra comfy. I asked the shop who made the covers to put in extra vents in the seat back. This was my compromise to keeping it OEM fitment and look but with some added JDM touring car seat looks. I told myself I would not embellish the headrest, but I could not resist. As a bonus you get to custom request the stitching of the seat and logo. I requested silver just like my car. Here is a pic inside the car. If you want a more deep bucket you can ask the shop to modify the foam installation to suit you. This is where experts come in and for a very reasonable amount of money, I had these seats redone to my liking. All in I think I spent 850 dollars on covers, foam and shop labor.

http://www.testdrivemylife.com/my ramblings/6-top-tips-for-a-tip-top-blog Take a look at my website. I point all new shoppers to my questionare located in the 'so you want a new car' post. It will make you ask yourself some hard questions, and if you are quite honest with yourself, you will feel better about your eventual purchase.

Reproducing HeadLight Covers input needed from the community

I need everyones input on this one (Combo and T/S switches)
What an amazing coincidence. Just last weekend I was leaving the car show at night and when I turned on my lights, I had no dash lights or running lights. Me thinks it I have a combo switch issue, as I cannot get any voltage to come back from the green and white wire back to the car. Headlights work, but they get constant power I think. Blinkers work, and flashers work. But no dash lights. I sent both my stalks to Dave the man Irwin. However playing with my turn signal, I noticed why my blinkers would never reset after I turned the wheel. The factory grease had hardened like syrup. I sprayed them off with WD40 and whala, the little spring activated plates got nice and snappy again. Dave will finish the job I am sure. My car was a 7/71. Never had an electrical issue with the car in 9 years. This is my first. This is one time I am glad my car has not been chopped to hell by a previous owner. Originality works in your favor here.

That makes so much more sense to me. As they appeared very wide for 205's. I am glad you like them. They look really good on your car. Hopefully they will look as good on my car.

Was it hard to get the center caps on? Do we still need to hammer in the dust covers on the front?

Good to see on a silver car as well ! They look darker than I thought they would on my car. We will see. I am chasing a rare electrical condition. My dash lights and running lights just decided to stop working saturday night. Sending my combo switch off to Zs-Ondabrain for a refurb so at the very least I can scratch that off my list.

How do I rebuilt my carb
Best depends on your specific condition. A really great thing to do is to buy a Ztherapy redo of your carbs. When you get them back, they will be perfect and when troubleshooting other things, you can definitely count out the carbs. When solving car problems you are often faced with many possible causes for a specific issue. The more can eliminate the better. Getting the Ztherapy treatment is a great way of having a good known carburetor. But it is not the cheapest solution. You car needs some TLC and much of that can be accomplished with a methodical slow approach to the problems. I wish you luck!

My personal preference is no side skirts, BUT yours are so nicely integrated I think they look pretty darn nice. The limiting factor for most Z owners is the front tires. IF you have an aftermarket front lip then you are free to run 225's at will. The oem 240Z body work makes that darn near impossible.

MSA satin black Konig Rewinds are coming.. need tires
Well sometimes I just want to tinker with the cars. I tend to want to try new things, and then talk myself out of it AFTER I buy new stuff. I have even considered doing a G nose conversion just for kicks. I mean if I am going to do paint, I may as well DO IT ALL. But a part of me wants to keep the stock lines of the Z. Their are already so many cars with fender flares and ultra wide tires. A stock bodied Z is tough to find. Mostly I really want to spend time wrenching on all my cars. The Z has been a joy to own and drive. I will probably regret putting on the dark wheels and vinyl stripes, but I feel it may be fun change for a while. We will see. I really admire your collection and the depths you go to make your cars beautiful. You have an eye for detail I truly respect.

What is correct? To have the block cut out or solid? I was planning on getting another new set of side badges anyway. Should it be solid or should their be a hole. My gut tells me it should be solid.

MSA satin black Konig Rewinds are coming.. need tires
My growing collection of 45's agree. siteunseen, well I will take my Karma then with pride, knowing I was able to dip into your wallet. HAHA. I will have to find that link to the decals you mentioned. I was just going to go with the MSA ones, but if their is a better source, then I am all for it. Thanks for the clarification Guy. The one thing that all this tire size hinges on is the offset of the Konigs. Are the Zero like my beloved Panasports? If the Konigs are 0 offset is it really a true zero or just close. How wide is their 15x7 wheel compared to the panasports 15x7? So many variables to consider. These wheels change the whole character of the car to me. The black MSA konigs are the kind of wheel you do not even try to run centercaps on. The are an all business wheel. The Panasports are the wheels that would be on James bonds getaway car. Either way it is good to have options. Guy, do any of your cars have the size 240Z stripes on them?
