  1. Barely used embroidered Datsun Racing jacket Don’t let the size fool you I wear a L for all my jackets and this still fits me fine - it runs small 12 dollars plus shipping smooth lined inside with pocket very warm
  2. Thanks bud. Maybe I will keep her around for this years car show circuit where I live. I as invited to show her in the collectible cars section of the HOuston Auto Show this year. So that will be fun. Love to take her out on sunny days and just go nowhere. It is amazing to hear those webers sing with the top down. Will probably use bring a trailer when the time comes. I may also give the original owner a chance to buy her back.
  3. It is a 1968 Datsun 2000. IT has the Comp oil pan, Datsun Comp C cam and the dual DCOE 45's. I just redid the interior, pulled the dash got the heater working and put some insulation down on the floor. It is a supremely good driving car.
  4. Guys, I about ready to sell the 1968 datsun roadster. She is ready for any adventure you may want to have. Just seeing if anybody is interested.
  5. was never my intention man.. just been so swept up in life. z has been incredibly reliable for so long, I have not started any major projects short of the 5 speed bud. May try to to the texas 1000 again next year if money works out. IF not that, maybe the orange blossom special. My Z needs another vintage rally to have some fun in.
  6. I Find it amazing at how closely we built our cars! From the STI diff to the L28, to the 5 speed... WOW. Just need to get me some headlight covers! ?
  7. Wow, been so long since I posted, just been swamped with daddy duty. ? But 5 speed is in and is the bees knees man! I love being able to cruise on the freeway at 70 and not be at 4300 RPM. Z car has been running strong since 2017 ZCON and not batted an eye for any kind of Issues. Very proud of her. My roadster was selected to be in a rare cars of Houston display at the Houston Auto Show in January. I have been busy detailing her. Which leads me to my question. I am trying to get off that black RTV like adhesive you use to secure rubber trim. It is really thick around the entire windscreen and I need to get it all off. It is sitting on paint, so I cannot use brass brushes or the like unless I want to commit to repainting the windscreen. Which I really would rather avoid. How do you get old RTV/adhesive off paint without chemicals that would destroy the paint.
  8. Agree, I have two extra B type shifters. so maybe a mod will work ?
  9. It seems to go into gear fine but it hits the 71 console and pushing it forward in 5th noticeable. It stays in gear with the engine not running so we will see. I may need to do more console trimming. I really want to keep using my 71 console as its original.
  10. That looks great! I have plan on doing this SOON
  11. Oh those guys, I prefer more sane individuals LOLOLOL wink wink, nudge nudge!
  12. I have not even been paying attention to it bud. Been buys with home remodels, tennis for the boys, and work. But where is it and when? I could probably just do a quick search. still have all my toes. Looking for a place to get a nice show quality starter? My starter is the ugliest piece of my engine. Would like one done up and OEM new. Any ideas?
  13. After 6 months is fiddle farting around, I got time to get my new 5 speed in. Got her up in the air first. This below is the new 5 speed from a 280Z, nope not a close ratio, but still has that wonderful 5th for freeway driving. After going to Z con last year, it became very apparent I needed a new gear to make long hauls. Believe it or not, this my old transmission below... It actually looks cleaner than the one going into the car! Up up and away... with help from a good friend, (thanks Tanner) I got this baby in quick. The car wanted to be back together.
  14. That is awesome!!! Man, he is talented!~
  15. cleaned up the Garage and did washed the brothers Datsun on Fathers day. Had the whole family helping!
  16. Looks like a great idea. The real enemy will be heat. Adhesives hate it. So if it can survive a hot day at a car show, then you should be good! :)
  17. What tape did you use for that spoiler.. I have the same one, but do not want to drill even more holes to install it.
  18. GREAT seats man!! Also obligatory head light cover envy! :)
  19. What a great article.... I love reading about the Z in the time it was here. Even then they realized what a special car it was. Amazing to think how spot on they were.
  20. UPDATE: I have been so busy with baseball I have not had a chance to post in a long while, but the transmission is cleaned up and ready to install. Ordered an new clutch and pressure plate. I may or may not change those though as I only have 3000 miles on my stock clutch. I will change out the throw out bearing though for sure.
  21. GREAT NEWS.. UPDATE: I have my newly rebuilt 5 speed sitting on my garage floor. Next steps are as follows: 1) Clean the thing up and make it look factory fresh 2) Give some hard thought to replacing the clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing (only have 3000 miles on my last new clutch installed 5 years ago) 3) Fill with MT90 and have fun. NOte: I plan to use the clutch fork, throwout bearing, Clutch collar, clutch and pressure plate from a 240Z 4 speed. I think it should be the same.
  22. I will chime in for Daves relay work and I have had my combo switches done by him for both my Z and my roadster. His work is unparalleled! Quality, value, and better than OEM. Dave has saved more Datsuns than anybody.
  23. Bingo! Found a local manual transmission shop that said he will be happy to take it down and have a look. He said it probably does not need a thing but some seals, but I have no way of knowing. He said he will take it down and check it out to let me know its condition. Said it should only take a day or two. I like not fixing what is not broken. I will update when I get a chance. I will mention to pay close attention to the roll pins and 3rd gear syncros as well.
