  1. For reference here are a few pics of mine (pump and markings) on the engine from my 7/70. And some trivia as well.🙂 I replaced mine in 1983 with one I purchased from my local Datsun dealership, I learned today that it's actually likely a 280ZX water pump based on what I can tell from the part number (21010-P7526) on the receipt that I still have. It is a backwards compatible OEM part with the manufacturer name, Atsugi, cast in. The original is long gone, it succumbed to the weight of the original metal clutch fan. The history of Atsugi is quite interesting, it started out as part of Nissan to later become part of Hitachi's auto parts division. Here is a snippet from a Hitachi automotive systems history web page, see the link below for more, if you're interested. https://www.hitachiastemo.com/en/corporate/history/automotive/
  2. Finally got my Louvers installed. I bought these over 18 months ago for $100 on CL and dragged them home from Oakland on a work trip. They sat for a long time as I pondered how to install them. The hardware they came with originally is unobtainable. I have a buddy near my that has a 78’Z with different style Louvers (rounded corners) and he has aluminum fabrication skills as an aircraft mechanic. He built these upper straps that hook around the rear hatch and the lower fittings that slide under the rubber molding to I could mount these . It came out great in my opinion and is very sturdy with no drilling required . Here are some pics. BTW…fresh powder coat was done this in Satin black for $130. They look like new .
  3. A few things can cause the problem. Fuel pressure too high (I like 3.5 psi), floats set too high or crud in the needle and seat valves.
  4. Thanks for the info guys. I will take a picture of my compressor today and put it here - that pic above was the same model, but a picture I found online. It/mine is a two cylinder compressor. I bought the compressor when it was new. The switch I replaced was the original one. I don't think it was adjustable, so I found it odd that both had 140/175 specs, but that the original worked at 120/155. Good point about adding more heat. Yeah, agree, it doesn't look like any benefit to keeping the higher points. I will adjust them both down today.
  5. I really like the classic look of Louvers and oddly they are coming back in style. You see them coming from the factory on new Mustangs and Cameros models. The constant cycle of trends. I still wouldn’t wear Bell-bottom pants or a Members Only jacket no matter how cool they become.

Boy, I have no idea why it linked my membership application through you. I think I just went in the front door of the website and hit the join button. Decided to join up since my 260 early restoration is finally kicking into gear. Sorry if I creeped anybody out 😅
  7. Wow...! Thanks, AZ...!!! I have bought a number of rubber items from Steve...I should have thought of this. I wish it had the dial, but the picture looks great. All the best...Ryals

  9. Well, it’s looks like it’s not original.. Just found a pic of an original one, showing the impeller is cast, whereas mine isn’t. Have a new Aisin pump on the shelf just in case, may as well replace the non original one now.
  10. You may want to look for Aisin water pumps. I saw some on ebay and CardID The issue might be whether or not you need a pump with a fan clutch. Those are rare. I just noticed that the Aisin is available via Rockauto but I had to click a button to unhide it.
  11. How about a picture of the impeller? The other side.
  12. My guilty pleasure is some of the old Sedaris BBB action movies from the '80s and '90s. This one's from Malibu Express.

Welcome aboard! Start a build thread and post up some pictures of your car.
  14. Don't take your car apart until you have too! Restore smaller sections and sub-assemblies as you go. Then repaint and reassemble. In the meantime you have a running car you can enjoy instead of a shop project
  15. Hi, I show this again, a Z432 Sports Option manifold and a Z432 STD manifold. Looks like GTR has similar pipes to the Z432 Sports Option, but bottom junction is different. Kats
  16. The rule of thumb is 10 PSI/1000 RPM. Full scale is to 90 your car, so 10 PSI isn't that far up the scale.
  17. Here's my early 1970 PS30-type S20 OEM exhaust manifold and the dimensions from the centre of the rearmost hole in the mounting flange horizontal to a 90 degree line from the mounting face of the 'binocular' flange and the centre of its innermost bolt hole (does that make sense?). Anyway, pictures saving words:

That link is a referral (obviously) but the actual link can be found on the main page blocks. It comes from "Tell a Friend" and clicking the Share option. Each user has a unique referral code and you will get credit for referring others. Other people cannot use it unless you specifically sent it to them or post it somewhere. Mike
