A friend sent this to me today, some interesting stuff I haven't read anywhere else,
  2. I came across this 8 1/2 X 11 mini-poster a few years ago. Of all the colors in the 240Z palette, Nissan certainly got it right in choosing this one. 920 Safari Gold rules!!! The poster refers to a 1998 service bulletin, that would suggest it was published as a follow-up to the Vintage Z program.

I watched a good movie a day or so ago. "The darkest hours". Winston Churchill had to convince his people Hitler was a threat. Gary Oldman was great from what I could decipher then I turned on captions. A lot of mumbling.
  4. View Advert 260z hood, deck, doors Free. Parts were going to metal recycler but feel bad to do that. You'd have to arrange shipping, etc. Advertiser Richard W Date 03/28/2020 Price $0.01 Category Parts for Sale

This has to be some sort of engineered ****ed up experiment.... when was the last time that dogs and cats caught your flu? China ordered culling dogs and cats in China in late Jan. Just 10 days before; they acknowledged the virus was passed between humans....Jan 20th!!! Very fast detective work to investigate animals... when just 10 days earlier the $^!# hit the fan for humans ..... LIARS!!!! https://www.foxnews.com/world/cat-in-belgium-first-to-test-positive-for-coronavirus-report https://metro.co.uk/2020/02/01/chinese-residents-ordered-cull-pets-amid-fears-may-spread-coronavirus-12164217/
  6. This is from a 77' which should be the same. Just match tab on the tank with the notch on the sender.
  7. So grandad, what did you do while the COVID Virus was spreading around the world? Well my boy, I did my bit and two bucket washed the Z and gave it a quick polish.
  8. All sanded. Feels smooth like glass! Now to wash the whole car with soap and water, then re-mask the car and spray sealer before the base coat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Me and Buddy were home all day alone so we invited the neighbor dog over. Dogs are social too! This is great...
  10. I'm glad it worked to your satisfaction, Ron. From the first of my research, I read that the LED color should match the lens color. I might have used some white LEDs in the center gauge pod, though. It's been long enough ago that I can't remember. The bottom line is that you will be able to see at night. I suggest that you replace the 20A fuse in the parking light circuit with a 10A fuse. The wiring wasn't really up to handling 20A, so if you get a short, you could melt wiring (or a connector) with the 20A fuse.
  11. The Creatures = Siouxsie and the Banshees side project, whose roots are in England.
  12. This here is the tab that you see when you take the ring off. The sender body has the matching notch.

Forgot that you had posted that. It will be doubly bad without condoms available. Another briefing coming up soon. Not going to comment anymore. Apparently Trump will be introducing his county classification system. Risk factor based.
  14. First pass of the long block over the hi build on the door. The dent and repair took many hours of sanding and filling, but now I see it was all worth it! Flat!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I used EuroDat brackets, too. I had to shim the front bumper a little bit so it wasn’t quite as tight to the body, but that was easily done with some SS flat washers. Turned out well on my ‘75 280Z.
  16. Here's my OE '72 bumpers on my 77 using @EuroDat brackets. Can't get much closer in my opinion.
  17. A few weeks ago i saw a german guy named tim on facebook, showing some Choke lever adapter plates he designed and made for the Z. He made a few more and sold them. I guess he didn't expect them to sell like hot cakes, so he had to make a few more. And that's how i got one in the mailbox today. The plate is made from 3D Printed plastic, which is then hardenet to improve strenght a lot and make it thermally stable up to 120°C. He designed and made those in first case for himself, and told me a lot of testing went into it to get the process right: The original choke lever is prone to be a bit "wiggly" which wasn't the best design from Nissan. The plate will improve tha stability of the choke lever and also prevent the Center console from cracking it that area (which can happen due to the loose choke lever) Once it's installed it is completely invisible. In my opinion clearly an OEM Upgrade worth it, even with completely stock cars. All pictures except the first one are courtesy of tim.
  18. Thought this day would never arrive! Can I get a virtual high five from the forum please? High build (Valspar DTM prime and seal mixed 4:1:1) ready to sand in a couple hours and fill any last minute pinholes with putty. Then on to a mix of 4:1:2 for a seal coat before paint!
  19. Life won't be the same in my opinion so here's my happy days. Sun Britches!
  20. How to "not" drill a well in your backyard. Dutch style. Hopeless from the start, but at about 1:38 is where it get interesting. I came across this video when I decided to drill my own well.
  21. I was having the same issue with my 71, stock su's when stuck in traffic here in Florida. There is a laundry list of issues it could be. However, I would start with the cooling system. Make sure you have proper coolant mixture/level. Thermostat is important as well. Clutch fan should be checked for proper function. Next is tuning carbs- correct mixture and air flow. Next is checking timing (if too retarded, you will run hotter). If still persists after all if the above, you might have to consider whether you are having fuel percolation and/or vapor lock (that is what I had. Fixed by switching to electric fuel pump and wrapping my headers...but this was AFTER dealing with cooling system, carb sync, air/fuel mixture)...
  22. dash removal is really rather simple. You will have to remove the metal finisher that is at the back of the dash where it meets the firewall. this is held in with phillips screws. Once that is removed you can locate the top bolts (I remember there being 5 or six and they are either 10 or 12 mm). you need to take apart the heater plenum and remove the center console to get to the others that hold the dash to the trans tunnel. the steering column needs to be dropped also. Really once all the bolts are out and the dash is free, you can see what else needs to be disconnected such as the electrical plugs for all the guages, speedometer cable, vent hoses for the heaters etc. I find it easiest to lift the dash straight up and pull it back towards the seats and lay it across them. if you need more detailed instructions, feel free to drop me an email.
