  1. So, as some have already guessed, I will be assuming the conservator-ship of the legendary 3.1L stroker formerly reigning supreme over the 73 240Z owned by none other than our legendary contributor ZKars. Jim has been a source of inspiration and assistance from the beginning for me, and it is an honour to have the chance to purchase some of his gently used and superbly built pieces. Having sold his 73 shell to a local buyer, he was left with a plethora of parts looking for a good home. It was only after calling Jim (again) looking for advice on my own engine build that I suddenly realized what I was looking for was sitting in his garage.... So, long story short, I will be re-using his stroker as the heart of my build. I may add a few personal touches, such as fuel injection and a spark and fuel management system too. Along with the motor, I am picking up a few more assorted goodies from his car that won't be going to the shell buyer. In the end, most of his Z parts (from the 73) will be gone and he will be able to continue building his 510 empire in the south of Alberta! Pics and details to come as the parts make their way north to my surprisingly comfortable igloo.
  2. Looking forward to it
  3. Yeah decreasing the air corrector is what I meant above....215 is in there now.....I have a 185 or 175 I can jump down to. I'll try to get one of them in tonight.
  4. A missing keeper may cause that unless I need to change my glasses prescription. ?
  5. @jalexquijano It seems to me that you're kind of walking up and kicking fate in the shins by letting the engine idle for long periods of time. Especially an engine with a performance cam. Performance cams do wonderful things to engines but as a rule they don't idle well and if you idle them too long the rpms start to drop and you've got to blip the throttle a few times to get the idle back to normal. In that ten minutes of idling did your rpms change at all? Perhaps you're asking too much of the engine to idle that long. And I still want to know if all the plugs were black.
  6. FIdanza 143281 flywheel fits all L6 and has bolt patterns to attach both the 225 and 240mm clutches. 10 lbs ish. Replacable friction surface. I even put one on my LZ 2,4L 510 motor! Zoom zoom
  7. Sold: Harmonic Balancer, NOS Steering Coupler, Wiper Blade Frames, Crossmember Plates, Sidemarker Boots, Series 1 Panel, Fuel Pump Plate, Differential Mount, Inspection Lids.
  8. Ok lets try this a different way. Go out to your car and pull all 6 plugs (now) and take a pic of them (now) and then load that/those pics so we can see all six of them (now).
  9. I have found that raw aluminum doesn't stay pretty very long for me without a coating. i am not near the coast but we have very high humidity. It will be interesting to see how yours holds up.
  10. I have had the Arizona Z Car 12 pound flywheel in my street and race 240Zs for more than 10 years and love it.
  11. Yes, welcome aboard. You have a very nice car to start out with. Zed Head has a '76 and knows them inside and out. He's a frequent flier on here, good guy and very helpful.
  12. I'm in along with my local buddy Gary @GGRIII. The plan is to drive down in his flat top fueled 260.
  13. Kathy and I are in.
  14. Cody and I are in...
  15. Sadly Janet and I have to bow out ? New job and we just bought 5 acres in the country for a new home so it is a busy time.
  16. Surgery has killed my chance. Not healing as quick as I thought and I can’t work on my car much right now. I’ve actually hired some help to keep things going. It’s killing me that I can’t go with it this close. Very slight chance I’d drive down in another car, but that wouldn’t be as fun.
