  1. Hello, Sorry for the lack of communication here. We have the dashes in ready in stock. Majority of them have been sent out and we hope to have reviews up shortly. For 280z dash, the mold is in process and has started. We are aiming to have it done by August of 2018.

You better believe it Charles. A Stage III Isky regrind is what I would install. You’ll need new lash pads, new or remanufactured rockers and the cam. Believe me, it’ll be the best investment you can make. I have a brand new Isky Stage II regrind I’ll part with for $200.00 plus shipping if you or anyone else wants it. PM me if you are interested. All 5 of my cars run Stage III Isky regrinds. Guy
  3. THe original air channels may be hard to find These days and probably quite expensive. but this is how my panelbeater repaired mine: Before (cheap patched up ugliness): and then:
  4. My friend Mr. Shimoura has a super clean genuine Fairlady 240 ZG (9/ 1972), we checked her pockets and there you go, matching numbers jack and choke ! You can see R. I. G. on the jack, “1972 September 7th “ And 2. I. on the choke, “1972. September “ Please note the seat, from September 1972, interior materials were changed to “ flame retardant” , this made the seats looked slightly different from former design and shape. Yeah, the rockers that Hoover posted are definitely cast. You can see the mold part line and everything. Although, in my search travels I did turn up some pics of some carved versions (that were supposedly made by the same guy). Found those here: http://www.datsunparts.com/1162 My plan was to tempt Blue just enough that he couldn't resist anymore and found the motherlode of the cast versions.
  6. Thanks for all the replies guys, this car same as my off road right is a build for myself with no desire to sell. Just drive, labour aside from filler and paint will just be my time with my kid over the years to come. Lookin forward to getting at it. I'll definitely be checking frame measurements. Here's my other build as she's sits today. All home brew fabrication on 38s Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk
  7. Correct again. I contacted a friend from PA who spent the 70's and early 80's traveling to many tracks as a crew member. He said this is definitely Lime Rock on the way to turn 1.
  8. 10 years ago this would have been a parts car. These cars are starting to be worth enough to justify an extensive amount of repair work. Especially if you have good metal skills... The lift is a rotisserie, probably home built. Makes it much easier to work on. I would not make major repairs like that on the rotisserie. You need to set it down on blocks or jack stands. Then get a datum line to check the frame straightness. There is a diagram that gives all the frame dimensions in MM's
  9. Thanks for asking. The search continues.
  10. Head is done. New seat and valve installed. Everything else checked out fine. Gotta get it back and install everything once again. Then hopefully we are just back to tuning!
  11. Man those look amazing, exactly what I will try to do. Just need to figure out how to shape em! My only concern is structure... Im used a body on a frame, if i cut that thing up just as pictured will there be movement that could screw things up when finished? Would I be best to pull it off the rotisserie for a repair like that or should it be ok because there's still substantial steel helping fight any sag. Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk
  12. Hi Kats, Yes, after January 1972 (according to UK market factory documentation) UK market HS30s (and RS30s and GRS30s) received the FS5C71B transmission with the following ratios: 2.906 1.902 1.308 1.000 0.864 REV: 3.820 So, they were the same as yours quoted above, but they had the sliding spline type rear joint instead of the flange type seen on the Japanese market models. Personally speaking, I love the FS5C71A when it is in good condition and well set up. However, the design seems to have a very short ideal operating window and wears relatively quickly, and then it's horrible! The FS5C71B seems to stay nice longer. I think a lot of people only have experience of these transmissions when they are in bad shape, and that's why so many people (especially over here) are changing to later C type transmissions...
  13. Hi Kats, I will have to check my factory parts manual for HS30's (UA - Australian Market) to see if they list ratios along with part no.s but in the interim I have some press releases here. https://goo.gl/photos/yGt15kkjKMxXx6Sb8 72 + 73 model years had the following ratios with 71B box. https://photos.app.goo.gl/zB8zJzHE5MTlPffw2 70-71 model years had the following with 71A box. https://photos.app.goo.gl/f6rwh6bxr9LKFumw1 Zoom in to see them. Or I listed below. 73 model - 71B box 1st = 2.906:1 2nd = 1.902:1 3rd = 1.308:1 4th = 1.000:1 5th = 0.864:1 Diff ratio = 3.9:1 Early 240z 71A box 1st = 2.957:1 2nd = 1.858:1 3rd = 1.311:1 4th = 1.000:1 5th = 0.852:1 Diff ratio = 3.9:1 74 260z 2 seater (71B) 1st = 2.905 2nd = 1.902 3rd = 1.308 4th = 1.000 5th = 0.864 Discussion here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/5575-260z-gearbox-ratios-what-are-they/ I have a 71b/C hybrid box in mine, with the closer ratio 260z 2 seater box gears for the first 4 gears and the taller 5th gear with reverse lockout to prevent shifting into reverse. We used the 71B/C hybrid box because my car is HS30 10552 - which had a 71A 5 speed from factory so the shifter hole is further back and instead of bending the gear stick back to fit, we used this combination so that the shifter would come out in the stock position. Given your cars originality, I'd be inclined to stick with the original box. I wanted to go back to a 71A box in my 72 240z HS30 10552 but I already have 3 other 240z's that will receive this style box. So decided against it for now. Previously I had the 280zx/240K gearbox with the wider gap between 2nd and 3rd gears, synchro's were well worn, so it drives night and day different now. I also fitted Triple 44's at the same time, so it's hard to say which I like better. The new gearbox or the response of Triples. Both have transformed my L28.
  14. Yeah, that's what I figured. I was guessing that they just couldn't expect the metal to stretch enough to make them in one shot, and the tooling would have been too complicated anyway, so they split up the assembly into multiple parts.
  15. Today I show you a new old stock 5speed gear box “ FS5C71B” which is used for Z432 , Fairlady 240Z series and Skyline GTR . ( this one is specifically derived to Skyline GTR , as a part number 32010-R5530) After Jan 1972, (for example HS30-10635 And after ) FS5C71B was applied, but gear ratio was different from other model. Those three types of cars has very nice ratio. 1st 2.906 (3.321 std) 2nd 1.902 (2.077 std) 3rd 1.308 (same std) 4th 1.000 (same std) 5th 0.864 (same std) Rev 3.382 (same std) I have a question about export Zs which have 5 speed , are they have this special gear box ? I am thinking using this for my 240ZG , I will replace S20 front section to its original L24 one then I will sell the S20 front section (so many S20 owners in Japan want to swap FS5C71A to FS5C71B, because it’s good feeling and plenty of parts availability) Also I need to have a spline type propeller shaft (my ZG has a flange type as an original , soon after they went spline type ) this one will not be difficult to find because so many S30 models used this one since September 1971 (I mean longer one for the diff mount changed) Or should I stick with its original gear box and propeller shaft ? Everything on this car is original down to exhaust tip with its build date stamp. Hmmm.. Alan , please let us know. Kats
  16. I like the shape of Central 20 wheels , sometimes it pops up on Yahoo auction Japan, yes I think it is rare to see. Most of them is gold spokes with a silver outer rim. Kats
  17. Thank you everyone who is posting here , we are reaching for an answer ! More examples are welcome, and the window regulator , I did not know that !! That is cool, Kats
  18. Facebook groups can suck. While there are always guys beeing A**holes on the internet, sometimes you really run into nice people that help you with your needs and do that happily as well! Recently i asked around if someone had a RH rear quarter panel in usable shape for sale, so my bodyshop doesn't have to make one from scratch (which is a lot more expensive over here). And a guy called Crow Aries immediately was in. It took a while to get all sorted out, but he even was kind enough to remove the old paint before shipping (didn't even ask for this!). Thank you so much sir! This is the car it was removed from: After some blasting and cleaning: Needs some minor work but still way better than getting this whole panel made from scratch. With this the RH-side of the car's body should be completed soon Oh and he was also kind enough to throw in a hood rod in the package since it appears that i accidentally sold the one i had.. Thanks again sir. Appreciate to deal with you!

  22. Interesting thread @kats I have a pair of wheel stops 0 B and a set of O D The jack in my 70 was a newer one R 1 T I also have a jack from a 3/70 which I can't make out the letters. An interesting observation is the two are different lengths. I was going to swap out my newer jack for the older and it would not fit. Also I was working on my window regulator today and saw it had a date stamp as well 0 4 I IMG_0001.m4v IMG_0001.m4v
  23. My jack is stamped S D X, which is April 24 1973 if I'm doing the decode correctly. My car build date is 12/70 and I know that the engine was swapped to a '73 sometime before I bought it. So it looks like the jack helps date the engine, if it came from the same car.
  24. @kats @Mike B Finally pulled out my wheel chocks from storage. Here's what I found in the 2 sets that I remembered having. 9K and OD neither have punched markings Found one jack.Still looking for the other jacks------buried in a box somewhere-------
  25. I don't know. It took me a year ish to convince the previous owner to sell me these I think that they're rare, one other set in the UK that I know of, seem to be on a few 432's in Japan. I'm not sure of overall production numbers though. Maybe Alan could pen his thoughts. A set of Kobe Seiko would finish my shoe collection for the car. however I need to get the car done to make use of any.
  26. How hard is it to get a set of those Central 20 wheels? They seem even more rare than the Kobe Seiko wheels?
  27. Hi Kats. Great job finding more potential date codes! I will check what I have this weekend and see if they match the pattern you identified. -Mike
