Well I have a '73 240z and right now im refinishing the L24 engine. It has a four barrel Holley Carb. set up and I was wondering if I still needed the Flow Guide Valve? The person who set it up a long time ago left it in place and it looks weird not being hooked up to anything but the Vapor vent line which goes to the Vapor Liquid separator, above the gas tank. Thanks for any help.

Hi i have a question abou the L24 engines. how much hp does the L24 engine from the 240Z produce? was it ever fuel injected? I saw specifications from a chilton manual stating that the 77 and 78 810 with the L24 could produce 154 hp and it has EFI. but the 79 810 with L24 only has 120 hp. anybody know why? and anyway to modify to the higher hp?

Hi all, Great site. After some time drooling on Z Car forums I have finally become a "Real" member of this community as I have recently purchased a 240Z. My baby has a late 280ZX with FI. I was wondering on any easy, cheap mods that can be done to increase HP. Any information will be most grateful as i am still a novice. Look forward to hearing your ideas and thanks in advance for your time in replying.

Hi there, this goes out to anyone who can help me, I have fitted triple Webers to my L28 engine which has been modified and am looking for any suggestions on jet settings for the carbs, i think they have been setup for a 260z standard engine at present so they will be wrong, and the engine seems to over fuel on tickover. Any advice would be well appreciated

Got a 73` Z with retro 72 carbs. Mechanic says they need a rebuild, won`t hold an idle unless choke is open half way otherwise it dies. It`s $400 for them to do it. Should I attempt it myself or leave it to a pro. This guy is trustworthy.

The question is; can I remove my oilpan without removing the engine from the car. I have an '81 L28 in a '73 240Z, dual SU carbs mated to a five-speed. When putting the engine together I (oops!) left out the oil runner that helps to hold the gasket to the block. I would like to put it back. Any suggestions? Tips? Thanks in advance.

I have a 72' 240 and I also have a pair of 82 280's. One 280 has gone to rebuild the other two. A friend of mine seems to think that it would not be too much trouble to switch the 240 over to fuel injection from the parted out 280. Any info? Also, I lost my starter the other day and grabed the one from the 280. Can I expect any problems from this? Thanks -john-

Hi.I just had a pair of grose jets delivered to my door from Victoria British...I am putting them in my 73 Z with 72 carbs....problem is there are NO instrucrtions...one is marked long, the other short...I can't see or measure a differance (with micrometer)...I have Scott's video and it only makes passing referance to it....help..... I put the short in the rear carb, the one with the shorter tang on the float bowl cover...I used the supplied various fiber washers to set the grose jet as close to the original height below the cover as the original and then bent the float tang to get 00.55 inches to fuel shut off......... its still weeks before the carbs go back on the car.…
