I live in Las Vegas and have a v-8 240z that i am getting ready to make into a convertible. Does anyone know of someone that will do this in my area? If not, I will do it myself but i don't know who the best person is to get the kit from. Any help would be great.

I've been considering a few different engines for a swap into my zed, and one interesting option is the VQ30DET. And yes....that's VQ, not VG. It's from the Nissan Cedric's and Cima's AFAIK. Being and all alloy V6 I'd imagine it would have the weight advantage over the RB's and VG's, and would give a better weight distribution than a straight 6. So has anyone heard of this swap being done into an early zed, or any other comments on the idea? Edit: They are quite well priced too..... AUS$2700 for a front cut.

ey all, just wonderin out of intrest, wat mods would it take to get 300hp out of a stock zx turbo engine in a 240z??? is efi the only way to go in this senario? or could one use somthing like a tripple 45ml weber set up? how much cash should i be looking at for putting out this kind of horspower. thanks james

hey guys, i was wondering if someone could explain the differences between these two motors. as i understand, the L28 comes in 75-78ish 280zs, and the L28et comes in the 79-83ish 280zx turbos? they are both straight 6's, but what is different between them other than the turbo (or lack of)? i understand that the L28et has about 31 more HP than the L28? is this correct? My application is im trying to figure out what i want to do with the engine in my 280z. ive been told by people on here that putting a turbo on a L28 is a little more than worthless, and that i should just swap in a L28et...if i swapped in a L28et, i would rebuild it first...and if im going to rebuild the L2…

i have a 74 260z and i would like to put in a lexus 4.0l alloy v8 with a five speed box, the standard diff is to low a ratio and would like to know if anyone has any ideas on a stronger higher ratio. eg. 3.00 to 1 has any one put one of these motors in a 260 are there any bigger brakes from other nissans which are a easy swap help

One really nice car, and all done in the UK, for once! I've seen this car in person and is very very nice!.. A LOT of work has clearly gone into it has yet to be run in yet so haven't been to find out its true performance! Hope the samurai refernce has nothing to do with samuri conversions... 260z TT

Hello i've been considering the RB swap for sometime... i was told by a decently reliable source that the 200zr (z31 300zx) rb20det actually bolts straight onto the 260z.... as opposed to the R32 skyline models which need modified mounts can someone confirm or othewise this!? as i have the oportunity to buy one in hte next few days! Thanks, Charles (and i'm asking on hybridz too!)

I am looking at putting most of my 280z (1977) race car onto a 240 tub. I am curious what I should have on my shopping list and what will fit. Things that I know are different. Dash Tranny Differential Radiator bumpers hood harness rear brakes motor exhaust fuel tank fuel pump door latches tail lights Some of those things are more crucial to have right on a race car than others and some just plain won't fit. anybody familiar with swapping back and forth who can give me some more clues? thanks Bryan
