But the question I have is which construction material is better, fiberglass or poly?
  2. No, I do not know how it's jetted. I do not think that the owner does either. He has told me that the car starts but sputters/backfires and stalls out. He is blaming the over carberation for this problem. The car also comes with dual DGVs already mounted on intakes with I would be swapping for the Holley that is on the car now. That is of course if I buy it.
  3. HS30-H and Ben, If you guys wouldn't mind sharing copies of these lists/papers/cateloges/etc. with the rest of us it would be greatly appreciated. Personally I am open to having them available for download, emailed to me, snail mailed to me, or whatever. I for one would like to see what these contain and I'm sure that there are others here that would also.
  4. I'm looking at a 240Z with an L24 and a Holley 650 on it. Is that carb too big?
  5. I have been reading up on carbs a bit on this site and a few others and have come up with a question. What's the difference between the following: 1) Webber DGV 2) Webber Downdrafts 3) Webber 32/36 :cross-eye
  6. See the longer discussion of this car under the Zcar on eBay section. Here's a link: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6016
  7. Below are the ones I have found and would like to know about.
  8. I just saw some on eBay earlier today. I'd include the link but I scanned through over a dozen pages of search matches so I do not know how long it would take me to find again. [EDIT] Ok that was easier than I thought. Click here for the search: http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&from=R7&ebaytag1=ebayreg&query=240z+panasport&query2=240z+panasport&search_option=1&srchdesc=y&exclude=&category0=&minPrice=&maxPrice=&ebaytag1code=0&st=&SortProperty=MetaEndSort
  9. I need to know if this book is worth having. Clymer Publications, Service-Repair Handbook - 240 and 260Z - 1970 to 1974
  10. I don't see why this couldn't be done, just look at things like the GTO Z or the Velo Rosa Z car kits.
  11. In case anyone wanted to see the eBay listing or previous discussion on this here's the link to the post http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5733
  12. I did not take a VERY close look as it is way too far from me to be worth it since shipping would be over $600 to get it to central Texas. So no, I did not notice the damage but thank you for pointing it out; I;m sure that many others on this forum will also notice it. For a car in CA to be worth buying for me it would have to in good shape (no rust out/through, surface rust only, running with the parts I want) and cost about $1200 which is unrealistic. Reason being is that after buying the car and shipping it here that would almost blow my entire budget leaving me no funds to make repairs/upgrades with. No big deal though, I'll just continue looking for one closer to home.
  13. In CA of course!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2407074457&category=6187
  14. I have been fortunate enough to meet someone very nice on this board who lives in the same city as me. I have asked his advice on many many things and several cars and he has always been very helpful and nice. Even going beyond just answering my questions he will occasionally send me information on something he has seen. Thanx Bryan! This is just the kind of person I have found to frequent this board. Even all my "stupid" questions are kindly answered and when I need a little more explanation someone here is always able to help. I do not own a Z yet but even after I do I will continue to come here because of the wonderful people and wealth of helpful information. The people make the difference, if things were different I would question a lot of the information I have gathered but many of you seem very sincere and honest not the mention knowledgeable. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! It just brings a tear to my eye...
  15. Zmefly, I think I saw this one just the other day, maybe I just saw your post...I can't remember. Where is this car at? If you don't buy it someone else may be interested...like maybe me. :classic: For $1000....what's wrong with it??? Not to be negative but I've been shopping for a Z and for that price all I have found are cars that don't run, are rather rusty, missing something (like an engine), etc. Now don't get me wrong, there are some decent Zs out there for this price (in CA for instance) but none near me.
  16. I just saw a '77 240Z for sale this morning on a website, I wish I could remember where so everyone could see what one looks like. Looked like a 280Z to me... :devious: People who don't even know what they own probably have no idea what it is either so any information you get from this person would probably be crap. You know, like 'it's totaly rust free' even though it may sit outside in Buffalo in a shallow pond.
  17. Where will you be using the POR-15 at? On the outside of the fuel tank? On the inside of the fuel tank? On the under chassis above the fuel tank?
  18. I guess that I'll go buy a dozen from MSA and sell them on eBay for a nice profit. Ok, not really...this is crazy!! For near $150 they better have some magical powers or something!! :stupid:
  19. That just hurts to even look at!!!
  20. Then if these were not stock were they a dealer option? I have seen these on dozens of Zs which just made me figure that they were stock. So everyone seems to be voting aluminum which would make then good for racing since they are lighter than steel. Right? I'm asking because I am looking for a Z to buy and would want two sets of wheels, one with street tires and one with my race tires and would of course want the ones for racing to be light whereas the ones for the street would not matter (except for looks).
  21. Can anyone tell me what these are made of (steel, alloy, etc)? These are original 240Z mag wheels if this helps any.
  22. Mike, This jerk posted the same SPAM message in every category on this board!!! Can someone please delete them and ban this user from the site!? Thank you so much!! It sucks that people do this crap!! Bad people they are!!
  23. You said that you found some info for distributers in Japan, please post this so everyone can benefit. Thanx!
  24. malder, Here's a link to someone who has a gas tank from an '83 280ZX for sale for $65 in OR: http://www.zcar.com/classifieds/class_parts/18385 I do not know if this will work/fit in your car but maybe someone here can answer that. Hope this helps.
  25. These cars are 30 +/- years old. We would have to know when this law was passed CA to know if this car is was subject to it when it was built and imported.
