  1. Music to my ears 2many!! I was hoping for about $100. I hope that is close to what quotes I get from these companies.
  2. This guy's trying to sell his Z based upon a 24 year old picture. He gives no current information nor pix of the car what so ever. He says that it was rust free and freshly primed and painted just before being put into storage 24 years ago. Storage where!? Not to mention that it will not run after being stored for so long and all the rubber will have to be replaced! *shrug* For someone in FL this may turn out to be a great deal if it is completely rust free. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2410517401&category=6187
  3. Has anyone ever shipped an engine? I need to have one shipped from CA, zip 94523, to TX, zip 78613. About how much should this cost? Who should I contact about shipping it? Any information and recomendations would be great!!! I don't even know where to begin...
  4. If you live in Austin or close I would like to know if you have a car trailer that I may use to get a Z. Towing it is no problem, I just don't own a trailer and am trying not to rent one if I can avoid it.
  5. Well it's too late now! Some lucky person took this home for $1050.

Sorry, my mistake! Not VB, Zed Findings. I'm getting my Z parts distributers mixed up.
  7. Does anyone in CA know anything about the car this guy is selling? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2409234567&rd=1
  8. ...and I'm VERY jealous!!

Are "...2 new IMSA frame rails for 70-78 DatsunZ..." the same ones that VB sells for over $300?
  10. Ok, now I've been hanging out listening to people talk about going from the stock 14" up to 15", 16", 17" and even 18" wheels. What I want to know is how does this change the way the car drives? I have heard that changing the wheel size changes your gear ratio. How? Does this provide greater high end speed or what? Can someone please explain the effects of going to a larger wheel to me?
  11. Their hours are M-F 9am-6pm and Sat 9am-1pm. He said that right now he has about 3 240Z for parts and sometimes he has a good whole car that he would sell. Hope this helps. I think that I'll be making a stop in there next time I'm through the area. :classic:

beandip, That link is VERY dead! I even tried modifying it a bit and still got nothing. Can you please repost a live link? I too am very interested in this swap.
  13. mperdue, Thanx for the link. That write-up makes this seem very simple and is full of good information!
  14. I must say that is a pretty sharp looking Z! From the pic the mods are not all that numerous...flares, rims, tires, and mirrors. It's hard to tell with the shadows but those tires look to be pretty darn big. Just my 2 cents

My vote would have also been that you saw an Opel. Sharp little cars! But I still have to find myself a Z!! That's where my true desire is.
  16. Has anyone had any luck finding them on Yahoo? I didn't have any luck.
  17. Just filled up last night at $1.529/gal for the middle grade (I think it's like 93 octane).
  18. I plan on using it for autox and some around town driving. NOT a daily driver. But to and from work once a week or so to keep things working properly between autox events.
  19. I have seen many people say that they have done a rear disc brake conversion, at least one stated it was from a 240SX. I would like to know if this conversion is worth doing? And also how difficult it is? How much should I expect this mod to cost? In conjunction with this I have also been wondering about the front 4x4 mod. I have read the threads on this one already so please do not feel like you need to answer questions about it here or point me to those threads. I say this as it helps give a full picture of what I have been thinking about.
  20. Just a note on the Jap engines for export. The deal is that these are low milage engines, guaranteed under 30k, that are pulled from totalled cars and shipped to the states (and probably elsewhere) since Japan is so short on land they really do not have any junk yards like we do here in the states. How do I know all this? I had a Jap pull out put in a Honda I owned years ago after blowing the motor. Poor little Accord...I treated that thing so bad...won some autoxes in her though! :classic: Just not what that car was made for so it didn't hold up to the abuse too well. 1 tranny rebuild, 2 engines, 4 clutches, carb mods, et all.
  21. Jeff, It appears as though the link you posted is broken. I clicked on it and got a wonderful 404 error.
  22. Great news, direct bolt on is the easiest. Is there any particular year I shoud pull these from? Also, if I did go with vented brakes are slot and drilled basically the same? Where should I be looking to get the disks? Year, make, model car in junk yard? Cataloge (more expensive than used)?
  23. How easy is this conversion? Direct bolt on? What year 4Runner is best for this?
  24. Doehring, Try the email or PM feature of this site. Using the email 2many will then be able to reply directly to you with nobody else knowing what your address is.

dozer, From what I can see where the light is hitting the car in the garage that is a great looking color! Do you have another pic of the car in full light so I can get a better look at it?
