  1. Isn't that the color you like? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2404736230&category=6187

This one looks like it may be sitting in a salvage yard... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2405071333&category=6187
  3. Yet another one with a big ol' hole cut in the roof!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2405108851&category=6187
  4. Here's one with a low VIN and seems to have lots of potential: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2405109223&category=6187
  5. 74000 miles!? Man that is the cleanest Z I have seen a a long time! It doesn't look like it was hardly ever driven, nor ever seen the sun. No fading anywhere, no dirt on the interior, etc, etc, etc. I have to agree on the interior color though.
  6. I saw this car the other day and thought the same thing. "That color is HIDIOUS!!"
  7. If the guy wanted a Porsche why didn't he just buy one? Personally I think it looks a bit silly. However, I do like the white gauge faces!
  8. When an odometer reaches 999999 or for some other models it would be 99999 it does roll over to all 0s. This is just a question I hope. Ther is no way this car has over 1 million miles on it, otherwise I'm sure that we would have all heard about it by now.
  9. Looks like a roll back to me! The uneven numbers are typical of this ploy. I also agree about the extreme wear on the interior, this car have been sat in for well over 20k miles. That is unless the person lived in it...:classic: The paint issue is also suspect, why is the interior looking so faded and the paint looks to be right off the lot? I say repainted! CarFax is a great idea, an even better one may be just to stay away from this car.
  10. I saw this the other day and thought to myself...'why in the world would anyone want to do that to a perfectly good Z, it just looks like crap'. Just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions...
  11. Nice looking with lots of mods... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2403810128&category=6187
  12. I know that I'm new to these cars and all but before buying one I just have to ask. Didn't these cars originally run on "regular" gas, not unleaded? If so what is everyone doing? Putting in a fuel additive?
  13. I have been doing a LOT of reading on this website as well as a hand full of others and think that I may have figured out what is considered to be the best overall setup for a Z. Please work with here as I am very new to all of this and am only working off my notes from various people's opinions and tested results. I do welcome all helpful information as I would like to determine the truely best way to build up a Z car. For starters you need a '70-71 Z car as these were lighter than the later ones. Now for the rest... ENGINE: an '81-'83 L28 non-turbo motor (this will have flat top pistons) which will be an F54 block and should have originally had a P79 head HEAD: an '81-'82 P90 head (Does this head have brass rings?) CARB: round top SU carbs TRANNY: a '77-'79 5-speed with a '77-'78 R200 3.9 rearend from a non-turbo car - this is the performance setup -or- an '81-'83 5-speed with a 4.11 rearend from an '85 200SX - this is the speed setup From everything that I have read so far it seems as though this would give you the best results. However, like I said, I am new to this and am in the process of sorting it all out so any help would be great.
  14. Ok, I will first say that I do not know much if anything about carbs so please be kind. I'm trying to learn as quickly as I can as much as I can about Z cars. Is SU a brand name? Are SUs stock on Z cars? What's the difference between round tops and flat tops? Are round tops stock on any Z cars? If so which one(s)? Does anyone have a pic of both round tops and flat tops so that I know what I'm looking at?
  15. I'm new to the technical aspect of cars also as well as Z cars. What it NA or N/A? I see it throughout the posts and have not figured it out.
  16. Magazines appear to be gone already.
  17. I'm with St. Stephen!!! There's nothing in Texas! They are all in Cali....
  18. EScanlon, When you POR these areas are you doing it inside the car or outside/under the car?
  19. 2many, Can you tell us where these patches can be obtained? I am also shopping for a 240Z and have no doubt that I will need this information as I can not afford to buy one that someone else has already restored...plus that's half the fun....right???
  20. St.stephen, Can you provide the information on the places that sell repair kits for rust spots on Zs? I saw someone the other day who sells floorpans while surfing the web but that's all I have found.
