  1. Yes the manifold for a late 73 with the Hitachi carbs is much larger, as well the length of the two into one connector pipe is shorter to match the larger manifold. It is likely that your good pipe is off the 73. And the one you show looks like someone drilled it out to fit. I would try to find a good fitting pipe instead of modifying the manifold. Dan
  2. I ordered one at my local dealership about three years ago. It was around $190 Cdn.
  3. Here is a pic of mine before restoration. As there was still the cloth wrapped hoses, I am sure they have never been removed. So another vote for taper on the engine bay side.
  4. Your local dealer can order a lot of parts if you have to part numbers. This link is a great resource. In Canada they can order much more that the US dealers. http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978 I have used this one for parts, they have a limited selection, but with free shipping on orders over $100, it is one of the better ones. https://www.autopartsway.ca/?a_aid=e5f0619e wheee! is correct some stuff you will only be able to get down south, so be ready to pay shipping/exchange and duty. Lordco also can source quite a few aftermarket parts, but I find their prices a little higher than online. Most of your used or hard to find parts are going to come from members here.
  5. I would think this would work well. https://www.ridgid.com/ca/en/hex-wrenches
  6. Changed the brake shoes and pads. Took it out for a nice drive.
  7. You need a peristaltic pump. http://www.instructables.com/id/Inexpensive-easy-to-build-peristaltic-pump/
  8. Fluke 73 III, wish I still had a Fluke 8060A.
  9. I"m in for a set of the plated type as well.
  10. I would be in for a set or two if someone re-pops them.

I found the hatch hinges catching on the seal was my problem. Post 10 in this thread.
  12. Not sure where your expensive threshold is, but you could look here. The prices are Cdn so you will get it cheaper. What kind of analog signal are you looking for, Vdc or Current? Some of the ones on this page will run off of the 12V system and others need 24V, so make sure to check that as well. http://www.omega.ca/section_eng/pressure-transducers.html
  13. Jim: I am planning on being in your neck of the woods early next year. Will take a can or two then.
  14. I got away with using a couple of old yoga mats that I borrowed from my wife. You were at my old garage so you know how tight it was to move around. I only had on little oops while installing the rain gutter trim on the roof, second part I installed on the car.
  15. Very nice Jim, wish I was in the market for another one. Would scoop it up in a heartbeat.
  16. Finally found some centre caps for my rims.
  17. Awesome meet, lots of great cars, nice location and got to meet up with a few members as well. Chickenman, CanTechZ, and zKars. The clubs that joined together and put this on were great. I hope they do it again next year.
  18. I can wait, I still have my WP in a parts box. Decided to put a new one on instead of trusting a 40+ old one.
  19. Dual points are for an Auto, I think this is what a early orig water pump looks like.
  20. I think this is it. There is a link in one of the posts to one by Enrique.
  21. The link I posted does just that
  22. As I found a original set, this one that I made is in a pile-o-parts that zKars got from me. See if you can talk him into looking for it. I think he only has a "couple" of part boxes to sort through.

congrats on the retirement. I did the same a couple of years ago and have no regrets at all. It was quite a drop in yearly income, but with a small pension, a few RRSPs and CPP coming up this year we have made a go of it. Not having to get up to a alarm clock every day has been on of the best parts. Enjoy.
  24. This is the one you want to use http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Sealey-Valve-Spring-Compressor/dp/B000R9ZITC?ie=UTF8&keywords=valve%20spring%20compressor&qid=1461730351&ref_=sr_1_28&sr=8-28
  25. I would do a search on "reaction disc" yours might have fallen down. That seems like a lot of adjustment.
