I agree 26th Z.......GET OVER IT! It's a beautiful flag from the country that gave us the cars we all get giddy over. Japan is a great trading partner and ally......what about the Union Jack or maybe you BMW or Porsche fans? Good job Mike.......it's perfect.
  2. Either of the cams you mentioned are OK to regrind. Isky Cams is excellent. Remember......if you have a lift of more than .460 inches, you'll need their valve springs. Also, get Delta Cams to resurface your rocker arms. Finally, you'll need to geometry your cam with the proper lash pads to center the cam wipe patterns. If you're not comfortable with all of this, seek professional help.

    Really cool........I love it!
  4. Very funny Zedy.....very funny!
  5. When you buy the eccentric, make sure you buy the bolt and washer too. You don't want the bolt to bottom out in the cam. All are still available from Nissan.
  6. All 3 of my L28's are running P79 heads with mechanical fuel pumps. A machine shop can open up a hole for the mechanical fuel pump, or you can scribe it and do it yourself. The stud holes are already there.
  7. Why not just use the mechanical fuel pump.......It works just fine for all 3 of my modified L28's with SU's.
  8. Vince......So sorry to also report the death of the Twinkee Twins and Ding Dong......tragic accident.....they'll be missed.
  9. Tennis ball green is OK with me.........anything but lime green.......the color isn't any way, shape or form the dark color of a lime......there...I feel better. Chartreuse or lemon green will get the job done also. So HardWay....could you change your avatar to read: Tennis Ball Green Machine.
  10. Sounds good Mark.......can't wait to see how she runs!
  11. Put a lime on the hood and a lemon......which comes closest to a match. Just a thought........BTW......it's my favorite color on the Z. Great job HardWay, great thread......
  12. Nice woodwork....everyone does realize that Nissan still sells the original shift knobs for $48.00. I just bought one last week. So if you don't own a lathe, just call your local dealer.
  13. I agree with Carl......Jerry will own the orange car for $25,000.00 if he offers and then ignores it. When all is said and done, you'll have another $5,000.00 in the car to bring it up to snuff with Jeff's old silver Z. You'll also need to exchange the flat tops for round tops IMO..........sorry Rich.......they really do make it a better package.
  14. It always puzzles me why everyone calls this color lime green.......I think lemon green is closer to correct. IMHO
  15. Spruell Racing in Atlanta has great prices on Panasports......shipped same day. I think I paid $998.00 for my last set from Spruell......16x7's.
  16. It sounds like your float needle valve is stuck open. Pull the top off the float bowl and remove the float valve. To take it apart, there's a very small spring clip (careful not to lose it) it unwraps and the valve can be removed. You'll probably will find some goo in the valve. Clean it up and replace it. That should fix your problem......do the other side too. Bruce (Ztherapy) sells those little valves if you lose a part or need one for some other reason. I just had the same problem with a carb that had sat for a couple years. It was pumping gas through the overflow tube and was dripping out the bottom of the air cleaner.
  17. Under no circumstances should you remove any metal.......your idea with the head bolts is tried and true. With the head bolts installed, tap it down close enough to install main cap bolts, then torque them down to about a half inch from bottoming......install the side seals all the way down, then torque the caps all the way down. This seats your side seals.......make sure you apply sealant for seals as per FSM.
  18. http://www.newsleader.com/article/20121111/NEWS01/311110007/Sports-cars-take-reckless-Sunday-drive?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CFrontpage&nclick_check=1 Some times it gets easy to get carried away........bet these guys would like another chance. Angela at Tidewater Z sent this out to their members.........
  19. Unfrickin' believable! I didn't know those things were still around. Talk about a rare collectable.........thanks for posting it and don't ever toss it. I raced a 510 on the streets of Atlanta in my 240z back in 1971.........it was fast as Hell! When he stopped to discuss things, the manifold was white glowing hot......I always wonder if that was "Turbo Tom". There is a chapter on the Crown Turbo Kit in the original "How to Modify" book. Take a look.
  20. EuroDat........Bruce sold the car to me a couple years ago. The repair is holding up well.......Bruce did a super job. I might add that the car stays in a heated and air conditioned garage.
  21. Beautiful car spitz.....too bad they don't make it in pure white.....that metallic white is impossible to match for chips etc. My wife's Lexus is that same paint. I understand a turbo is in the works for next year.
  22. Big improvement on the Panasports........much, much better!
  23. ........and just like the one I removed from my automatic 72 that I converted to manual. I reused the same mount on the new 4 speed. It works for auto or manual.
  24. Right Steve.....that's what amazed me......barely a 1/4 turn of tightening.....it sounded like a bad u joint. I would never have thunk it! Good advice on big red.
