  1. I don't know how many forum members use Banzai Motorworks, but the products that Mike Mcginnis sells are unavailabe almost anywhere else. Not only that, Mike's prices are cheaper than other sources on most items because other sources actually buy from Mike and mark 'em up! Mike knows Z's in and out.......and we need to keep companies like Mike's in business. You do have to send a check before he ships, but that's a small price to pay to have access to hard to find parts.......where else are you going to find a blank ID plate, an early master vac sticker, and many, many more stickers and items that make Z restoration a lot easier?
  2. Cleaned up under the two front wheel wells and got my son (Five and Dime) to shoot 918 orange. It came out beautiful. Also....before and after to strut restoration.....new Eibachs, Tokico HP's, new rotors, brake lines and brake line clips.
  3. Clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder......might as well throw in the short slave cylinder hose.
  4. You may have enough metal to get the pistons in, but the remaining walls wouldn't have enough metal to avoid flex. Did the engine run? Did you buy it with this combo? If so, did it run and if so, how good? In my experience with Z's, I've never known anyone who put L28 pistons in a 240Z block. In the old "How to Modify" book, .080 inches was the maximum over bore recommended.
  5. Thanks beer man.........
  6. Look at the big number next to the driver side motor mount. If it says F54, it is an L28.
  7. L28 pistons won't work in an L24 block......not enough cylinder wall for that much overbore.
  8. Anyone know what the factory torque numbers are for ball joints and tie rod ends?
  9. The BRZ is one of the coolest cars I've ever seen.....inside and out. Get white......the best color for a BRZ....IMO.
  10. Cleaned up under the hood......came out beautiful! Dropped the front suspension....installing new ball joints, bushings, Tokico shocks and Eibach springs. I'll clean everything like new.
  11. Tomahawk....Check your facts (posts) you must be talking about someone else. I never said anything about painting a picture, or an artist.
  12. I'm running the stock Nissan/Datsun 7/8 inch M/C with front and rear Willwood brakes.......works beautiful!
  13. Sorry OJ......We're referring to an L which is inline with 6 cylinders. You won't find any advocates of a V8 in a Z in my circles. Beautiful car.......keep the hood down and don't fire it up!:bulb:
  14. Sorry Tomohawk........I should have clarified......I mean an L28 installed in a 240Z. You can't tell them apart without reading the numbers on the block.
  15. I disagree........a non L series engine doesn't exclude an L28 .....neither does a non Z engine. An L28 is a Nissan engine so A Non Nissan Engine doesn't apply. You are reading into what agrees with how you want it to read. IMHO
  16. I didn't see a response that said any engine change......
  17. Z Therapy sells SU oil. If you have a doubt, use it. However, I used 3 in 1 oil for years with absolutely no problem.....you're just looking for enough viscosity to keep the piston from rising too fast. Jiggy bits don't wear out :stupid: ....and there are no more "0"rings in the bottom of the SU reservoir than in the bottom of a beer mug!
  18. Bruce......I love it when you get pissed off! Nyuck...Nyuck...Nyuck!!!
  19. Thanks Bruce for putting that to rest. Since it's only function is to damp the rise of the piston, I couldn't imagine why there would be an "0" ring involved with the resevoir.
  20. Very nice......Let us know if you run at VIR.......would love to meet you.
  21. Very cool Chuck.......you're serious about those little guys!
  22. Pulled the engine and auto tranny today.........Zedy did it in his tube socks.....I did it in flip flops.
