I'm sorry Terry, but I'm going to have to ask you to remove that Fram oil filter.
  2. .....this is where I'd be headed. And this is what Nissan SHOULD have done.
  3. * 5-spd tranny * a bit more power * different wheels * better seat * rust protection * better blinker switch
  4. I don't call that first class chrome.
  5. There is a nylon plastic connector from the filler neck to the hose going to the evaporator tank. I had this fitting fail in tension (spiral cracking), so I replaced it with a copper fitting. No more gas fumes.
  6. Anyone else buy one of these (Code: 40-3401A)? First I do appreciate someone taking the initiative to produce these. Nevertheless, the chrome work could have been done better. For the $270 I paid for a piece of plastic with a few cents worth of chrome, I think it shouldn't look out of the box like a panel that's been in a car for 20 years. The chrome work is not first class. Unfortunately this is probably the only option available outside of finding a Nissan part somewhere. My primary complaint is with the lettering. The lettering looks worn and thin. I haven't decided whether to return it or not. You can get some optional decals for later styles ($25), which I also purchased. If you're looking for a concours part, I don't think this is it.
  7. Sad news for sure. <Admin edit for correction>
  8. I believe the forks are different and the collar with the bearing is different. It's been a while though.
  9. I appreciate your thoughts. It'll be too late at this point for the Z Con.
  10. I got gunmetal for my 920 Safari Gold car.
  11. What does the paperwork that comes with your insert say?
  12. Do a search on here to find more about cutting springs. I don't think it is the most advisable thing to do.
  13. What would it hurt to do a wet test?
  14. My understanding is that you should not bypass the resistor to protect the tach. Someone can correct me here, and you should use the same resistance coil as the stock one.
  15. This paint shop has had the car for over 1.5 years, and it looks like another convention will pass by without the Z finished. I'm so frustrated, I don't know what to do. Their bread and butter work is collision, so I sit at the bottom always. :disappoin
  16. I decided to paint my spoilers, don't much like the black.
  17. I think about my Z almost everyday, and pray that they finish painting it soon.
  18. Congrats, I'm still waiting after 1.7 years.
  19. until

  20. 3K oil changes are not necessary if you use synth, and environmentally more friendly.
  21. I thought they were plastic, and just pushed through. It's been a while though.
  22. Hey Les, I might actually get the Z painted now within a few weeks to a month. I'll have the front and rear spoiler on it too. The rear spoiler is very nicely made and the bottom plate will keep the dirt out.
