So my patience isn't as solid as I had hoped it would be. I went ahead and ordered the 123. It came today, and within an hour and a half, it was installed and the car was running again. There are several resources regarding installation, so I won't babble on about it, suffice it to say that it was easy, and the video and write up supplied by @AK260 was indeed a big help. Many thanks to all who have replied and helped here on this subject. That being said, I put a conservative tune on it and drove it around a bit, roughly 15 miles. I didn't want to chance the Beru cap exploding. I have ordered a BREMI cap and should be here Monday. Until then, the Z is back on the road and my new refrigerator is still in the box. Priorities. 3. Life and rediscovering synths... yes I was deeper into them than datsuns.
  4. Been missed around here...
  5. And this is an example of why you're the one and only Hoover. Well done!! I don't want to know how you dredged up that document, but well done!

Excellent work! Well done you! Glad the thread came in handy. Enjoy the fridge!! I’ve been spending my Z time fixing a dishwasher :p
  7. I will throw my 2 cents in here too. If you are looking a spending $4k or so on Mikunis, I would go ahead and get individual throttle body EFI for that or less. It will make the same or better power, be easier to get tuned, idle properly when cold, etc
  8. Charlie Osborne makes that entire rail and you could just cut out the section you need. https://www.datsunzparts.com/services/frame-rails/
  9. 369 Needle is an SM needle. Just tuned a 71 with these rich bastards. 369 is Beck-Arnley's Part No.
  10. Yes, you do not need to plug the bottom hole where the tube was. Or the other side either actually, unless you were leaving a unbroken tube attached to the exhaust. It’s just a hole through to the other side which goes to one side of the valve. The rectangle hole in the picture below is what needs to be plugged. The plates designed to cover both holes on top would work best because of how the holes and the mounting points are set up. Here’s a pic from the top with the valve, riser, and studs removed. They were really frozen together and a pita to get off. The pipe is still connected to the bottom side. Just the valve removed and plugged with carbon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I was wondering the same. The comments indicates that the seller was not very cooperative. Maybe not the right word, but he definitely was not making much of an effort.
  12. I was watching this and just saw that it didn’t meet the reserve. Makes me wonder just how high the seller wants it to go.
  13. If you look at the way the metal meets. The frame rail is three sides of the box. The engine bay side makes up the fourth side, I believe
  14. Seems that finally after a massive covid delay the first one got delivered. A friend of mine received its package this week: I hope the ones who ordered got theirs, too. Maybe I´m swapping out mine during the winter, as the car is finally road legal since last friday. So I postponed my own delivery a bit.
  15. 391 is on BAT. Says No Reserve. Needs a resto. Some surprising small problems. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-74/
  16. Early Canadian market 240Z's had no vapor tank either, until about 9/70 I believe. They were known as non-emissions models, HLS30UN. Here are a couple of pictures of my 7/70 Canadian car showing the original vent hose routing without a vapor tank. The hose tee's off the tank vent hose going straight up and then loops back down going through a hole in the floor behind the plastic trim panel.
  17. Here’s some more pics and a link to a lot of photos of the Swedish jdm scene. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ABFdrQKXeDiJuXFq5
  18. Leaking slave cylinder replaced so now i have a clutch again, and finally found the time to paint a valve cover I’ve had laying on the shelf for years. Japdays at Mantorp Park coming up this weekend so need to get some things sorted during this week. IMG_2111.MOV
