I've got one of those too. Not nearly as clean, but works fine. Honestly though, my current go-to is my "old" Harbor Freight trickle charger. It's pretty much a constant current source limited to about 1/2 Amp up to about 12.5 Volts, and then drops the current off above that. By the time you get to 14V it'll give the battery whatever it'll take (which is usually in the milliamp range). At one point, I burned it up. Not sure how, but I let the smoke out. So I figured (since they're disposable) that I would just buy a replacement at HF. Well unfortunately, it turns out that they changed the design... The "old" one still has a step-down transformer in the wall-wart, but the "new" one is a semi-conductor switcher like the other new junk. Hated it. (Men On Film). I mean, don't get me wrong... it's all cheap Chinese junk. But the older junk is better than the newer junk. They took most of the copper out and replaced it with Silicon. So in the end, I reverse engineered my "old" HF charger and fixed it. Anyone surprised? Here's the old one all fixed and also sporting a potentiometer mod to adjust the output voltage: And here's the new one. Flyback switcher with opto-coupler feedback loop. Don't like it at all:

The MN heads are going further down the production line finally . Worked all the ports except for the last head in which I had to remove liners because of damage . The pic is just a exhaust with some work done . Off to get vapor honed and then on to the machine shop for valves and machining . Then back here for assembly
  3. I did exactly that. Didn't have a real plan going in but figured it out as I went. There's a lot in my thread starting here: It was a lot of work, but worth it:

I was on a roll this afternoon,
  5. Good pix of the cam. Looks like you have so damage. Could be the oil galleries in the spray bar are plugged. I would remove the spray bar and make sure they are not plugged. Also check the holes in head that attach to the spray bar to make sure they are open. Also, I think there are gaskets the the spray bar attaches. Make sure these are not leaking. As a note: I'm not sure that the 77 had a spray bar. My 75 cam was damaged (loud lifter noise/couldn't adjust out) I replace the cam with a 77 or I believe it was a 77 cam. The new cam was used and had holes in the cam lobes . This eliminate the need for the spray bar. Maybe someone else can chime in on this.

I have used the Spicer U-Joints on both the half shafts as well as the drive shaft and am very happy with the performance. Most recently I rebuilt a used set of half shafts using the Spicer U Joints (5-1505X) when we upgraded our diff and have had no issues with them since the initial install back in 2017. I purchased them at Autoplicity as they had the best pricing at the time. You can find them here at an even lower price that I paid almost 4 years ago. https://autoplicity.com/2016476-dana-spicer-axle-products-drivetrain-components?openOptions=True Hope that helps. Mike.
  7. Yes, Wouldn’t wanna miss that😅
  8. You need to put that next inspection on your calendar 1/1/2099!
  9. Good topic. I have about 7 chargers floating around my house. They all serve a different purpose. I think the Schumacher has the majority of the market share due to price but they’re not great chargers...they’re okay. I have 2 of them and I’m put them in the mediocre pile but they’re good to dump a charge on a battery but not as good at a tender even though they’re labeled “smart chargers”. I had maintained a large battery backup that I finally dismantled after buying a whole house Generac Generator and 400 Amp transfer switch. The battery backup I had was for emergency DC power that I had inverters hooked up to incase we needed a little power to charge phones, listen to a radio or watch TV during a post hurricane event. I had 6 x 12 volt golf batteries on it. I had a dedicated 12 volt RV charger on that bank and it worked great . I used it 2x for power loss events. For my cars I use. CTEC chargers. I have 4. They’re awesome. I leave two on my jet skis batteries off season and two on my cars. I also got them for next to nothing. When Advanced Auto merged with Car Quest they combined SKU systems and anything on the old system was sold at a discount. These retail at $70-90 and I got them for $9 each. I bought 14 and gave them to friends and family as gifts and kept 4 for myself. I highly recommend them for the cars. I had the Z on one for 2 years and the Viper for 3 yrs. @240260280, I've found that as well as a 1310 series. I'm having troubles 1) determining what I have as I'd like to match as closely as possible and 2) the difference between the two series (I cannot seem to locate info on the 1500 series you posted only the 1310) and finally 3) contact info for Spicer/Dana where I could call/chat/email them to get more info, all of their contact info pushes you to retailers. That being said, I may just make a trip to the local auto parts store to see if they can help. @Patcon, this may be a good option...I'll look into that. Thank you everyone for all the help thus far! 🙂
  11. Not sure why I didn't find that on my search, but that looks fantastic! I will be happy if I can do that in 30 hours, but I'm lacking in the home-ec seamster training.
  12. It looks like you are past Nightmare though, the engine runs and revs and it seems like you're close. Kind of in to recurring weird dream territory, like the one where you're naked at a job you used to have and nobody is really sure why you're there. You guys have that one, right...?
  13. Patcon, Yes, I think most of the time the chargers can be repaired. Their not like a clock....LOL Ron
  14. Jeff, you have to build the engine now, bring it up to the potential of that nice pan.
  15. This is a great topic especially if your looking for a trickle battery charger or one to replace a dead charger. I had the tan 5 AMP charger pictured for over 40 years and it finally died. Well my neighbor helped by hosing down the charger with water. Anyway, Instead of replacing the diodes I just tossed the charger and started looking for a new one, what a shock. I tried three new charges that died before I went looking for a SEARS unit like my old charger. I found the two Sears charges as pictured on eBay. The 5 AMP is my " go to" and the 6/2 AMP is a backup. These are very heaving duty, work all the time and never overcharge the battery. I had to change the power cords and the battery clamps, but this is the only charger I will use. You can find them on eBay for no more $ than the newer chargers that are JUNK! SEARS use to contract different company's to build quality products , but that time has long passed. The garbage we see today is from CHINA! end rant
  16. I think a lot of people feel this way. Vintage Schumacher's sell on ebay for as much or more than the new ones

Sound deadener and wiring harness is in, she's supporting her weight again and ready to install the engine/trans this weekend. The car will sit a lot lower when the weight is back to normal.
  18. Absolutely....Caught me sleeping, but caught up and passed him at finish line. The 336 rear does better than his 410 top end, and the SU’s once agIn proved they can play with the big boys!
  19. They all say "digital chargers" now? When I worked with my Dad hauling cars back and forth to the big auctions we always had to use a jump box to hook up temporarily to get the car out and on the trailer. Then he had one of those big boys that roll around, Die Hard. $149 at amazon.com. good reviews too. https://www.amazon.com/DieHard-71331-Battery-Charger-Maintainer/dp/B07775RGNM/ref=asc_df_B07775RGNM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=316747946823&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4903338090546529506&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9012727&hvtargid=pla-588454711373&psc=1 Here's the jump box same story as above, good. https://www.amazon.com/STANLEY-J5C09-Jump-Starter-Compressor/dp/B002X6VXL4/ref=sr_1_5?_encoding=UTF8&c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=Jump+Starters+%26+Battery+Chargers&qid=1621347330&s=automotive&sr=1-5&ts_id=387679011
  20. iI have had this one for 3 years or so, works well, auto detects battery type, has battery reconditioning. i think it meets all your specs. https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-BC15BD-Battery-Alternator/dp/B00KNMKRU8/ref=asc_df_B00KNMKRU8/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312632042117&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9110843316340757830&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026084&hvtargid=pla-493575186671&psc=1

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Ken Miles? That's the beer talking Cliff John, you're too kind. The camera keeps over exposing and making the colour seem lighter than it really is, it looks more like this, serious blue.

The big milestone today, paint and clearcoat done! So nice to say that, God I find painting so stressful, just so easy to screw up and wreck all your work. 3 coats of colour and 3 coats of clear, lots of little dust particles but they should all come out when I start sanding the clear with 1200 grit. It's the same colour is was when I bought the car only now the rust, dents and orange peel are gone😉
