To emphasize to all --- The ZCON judged car show and the ZFest (People's Choice car show) will be held INDOORS in AIR CONDITIONED COMFORT at the Hilton Convention Center. This will not be like it was with the sweltering heat at Memphis in 2015 or at Austin in 2017. It might be hot outside, but baby its going to be COOL inside! Can't wait to see you guys again! Come on down for some Ozark hillbilly hospitality!!
  4. I changed rotor, cap and now spark plug wires (NGK Blue). Will test the car tomorrow morning.
  5. Zedsaver will do that for you. He can get a little carried away with the 'random' placement of the digits, so ask him to take it easy with that....
  6. Also available at Banzai Motorworks - http://www.zzxdatsun.com/catDecals.php
  7. You might also consider using Greyhound for shipping bulky items.
  8. We have Cheapy Tire here in Nova Scotia.... must be a commonwealth thing....
  9. Man, I wish I lived nearby. Good luck with sale.
  10. Well here is something that stopped me dead... This thread on HybridZ is about a widebody kit that is being developed for a race car, but I just couldn't believe this wouldn't be a best seller as the next generation retro Z car! Nissan should look at something like this, maybe a little less rear wing and canards, but the overall styling would be a hit IMHO. Widebody Kit
  11. I hope that some of the other great classics come back like this too. I would love an old early 60’s corvette redone in modern hardware. I don’t think I could ever afford an original.
  12. Mark, Sorry, but that photo looks like your half done.;) Edit: Now I get it. You mean undercoat on top side. Me thinking ; coating on underside. Just woke-up, need coffee.....
  13. Good point. I looked on Amazon and some do come with a mirror, or you can purchase a mirror for these endoscopes separately. https://www.amazon.com/Magnet-Mirror-Borescope-Wireless-Endoscope/dp/B074M8QGBF?keywords=endoscope+mirror&qid=1540604733&sr=8-4&ref=sr_1_4. I'll get one and see how well it works in a couple of weeks when I visit my car at Motorman7's. I'll report back here.
  14. Hello, I have a purchased a 1970 240Z. It is in boxes and I am just getting started on the restoration and I would like to verify the vin number with the engine block that came with the car. I am missing the plate in the engine bay on the tower and would like to keep it a matching numbers car if it is the original block. Based on what I have been able to find I think it is the original block but 100% confident that it is. Could someone please help me verify?? Vin #HLS-30-02884 Block #L24-005300 Thanks!

"Look away, look away, look away..." Do I get to shoot the rope?
  16. Wowza....that's impressive! Love it. Do you have link?
  17. Yeah, I can't imagine what stage of electrical disrepair I would be at currently if it weren't for Wayne's wiring diagram. There are honestly projects that I would have simply not tackled if I had to spend that same time tracing the wires on the stock multiple page monochrome diagram.
  18. That is a beautiful diagram, I'm going to put that on a stick and take it to a print shop to see if they can make me a full size copy. Thanks again.
  19. The fantastic 77 color wiring diagram was created by Wayne @wal280z. Here's the latest. It's Revision "M". It includes the two changes mentioned above (voltage regulator and illumination light in the Temp/Oil gauge): 1977 Color Wiring Diagram Version M.pdf And if you want to see any of the history of changes, here's a thread with some details: https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11727-color-wiring-diagram-for-280z/?page=3
  20. Hi ZedHead, I made a tech article in the download section with the latest version.
  21. I'll add an independent plug for Wayne's wiring diagram. It's better than sliced bread. If you have a 77 and don't yet have a copy of this thing, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. It's too late now (since it's been out there in the public domain for so long), but this diagram is so good, that you should have to pay for it. So glad we don't have to, but we all should have.
  22. Chas, instead of assuming I'm right, point out what the differences are so we can double-check. With as much of an exercise as it is to do this with CAD or Visio, I admire the work done by our engineering and draftsman predecessors.
  23. Thnaks for the encouragement guys. Ill get back to work on it. Captain: It was Wayne's great work on the 1977 280Z wiring diagram that got me started on this. Ajmcforester; Ill keep that in mind. I have a collegue that is colour blind. I didn't even know he was colour blind the first 1-1/2 years until he asked about a PID drawing that used different colours to identify different process. Havn't given much thought about highlight lines by clicking on them. Ill look into that in Adobe and see what is possible with the side menu and testing in Preflight. If you click on a circuit it highlights in the drawing. First the drawing complete and accurate. The diagram is now just a quick export to PDF. The end result will be a lot better with borders, title block and colour key etc. Anything you guys see that needs correcting, let me know. Like I said, I don't have a 240Z to do field checks so the accuracy will depend on your input as well. Chas
  24. I've got a 280, so I can't give you any direct input into the 240 years, but I looked at it and I think it looks great so far. I know the color diagram for the 77 has been a huge help to me on many occasion and I've heard the 240 owners calling for something similar for quite some time. Good luck with the project!
  25. I made a simple wiring diagram of the setup Im now building. Its a little different around the resistor. Im using a 12V coil and bypassing the resistor. The wire from the ignition switch is connected, but doesn't have any purpose atm. Thanks to Wayne (wal280Z) for the awsome effort he has done with the color wiring diagram. Some photo's of the work in progress. Chas
