hey guys im looking at buying a hardtop c210 however it has a few bad spots of rust in the roof along the chrome trims, has actually got holes in some spots. the doglegs look ok though and the panels look pretty straight. has anyone tried to repair this kind of rust before themselves? or would this be too hard for the home DIY restorer and the car not worth fixing?

Well Guys!!!!! fantastic news!!! my KPGC110 fibreglass replica grill and front/rear spoiler has touched down in sydney (THANKS SOOOOO MUCH MILES!), and i am just holding my breath until Australia Post delivers! when i get hold of them, i will take some photo's and then start arranging to get them sent off to a fibreglasser (probably the guy in melbourne) to make moulds. I am not sure if he will be doing the front grill (i assume it is going to be quite awkward), but maybe i should start getting a show of hands to who wants what, I am afraid that this guy may not get around to making the moulds for ages unless there is some interest, and i want to get them back sooner rath…

sorry to go into this again but i just recieved an email from stewart Wilkins after i asked them about strengthening up the 240k. Basically he stated that the 240k body is already very strong, and doesn't need stitch welding along the suspension towers. He did recommend a roll cage (which we all expected) and a front strut brace. He said that if there was a weakness, it could be that the layers in the chassis rails may seperate, so that if the bottom seam was fused together it would enormously increase it's strength. now i am not 100% sure where he is talking about, can anyone give me a clue? I was looking at the rails in the engine bay (right under the firewall) on…

Hi Guys, if anyone is in Sydney, and interested in spending a morning learning how to repair minor damage and spray paint a car, i would highly recommend going to one of VG Auto Paints free workshops. http://www.vgautopaints.com.au/ I went to yesterdays class, and they do a pretty decent walk through of bogging a minor dent, then preparing it and panting car panels in acrylic. They also allow you to have a go, and offer tips and tricks to make things easier. Of course they make things look so easy They also have a really good range of products onsite. Well worth the trip!

didn't have a very good day today it all started with a quote from a guy i know to fix up the rust, straighten the body and paint the car.. the price was not pretty.. $15k!, and whilst i am sure there is a lot of work, and i am 100% certain it would be a perfect job, there is no chance i can afford that for paint! So my mate started trying to convince me that we should attempt bogging, sanding, priming etc.. on a small area and see how we go.. so i started sanding the POR to start work, and sections of POR started flaking off! It seems that the POR metal ready rust conversion hasn't worked completely.. it seems that 90% of the car may be ok, but there are some areas (…
