  1. He should post those photo's to www.WreckedExotics.com
  2. There are NO US market 240Z's that came from the factory with a sunroof. However, it is possible that the original owner purchased it from the dealer with a sunroof installed. 240Z's were so popular that demand easily outpaced the supply. So, many dealers added CRAP like sunroofs, stripes, side moldings, after-market airconditioning, and mag (aluminum) wheels as a way to raise the price (and profit margin) of the limited number of cars they had to sell. These sunroofs often leaked badly, and many of the ones that didn't "leak", did allow rust to begin attacking the roof. Be very careful purchasing a 240Z with a sunroof. Check inside and out for signs of rust and damage to the steel structure of the car. Also, by now, 30 years after install; repair parts including weather-seals for these sunroofs are virtually impossible to acquire as most of the manufacturers of the sunroofs have gone out of business.
  3. Hi Fred! How have you been? Now us Californians can say "Our Governor can kick your Governor's arse..........and mean it. PS I did NOT vote for him.
  4. I don't need to crawl under the car. I made the cable just long enough that IF one knows where to reach, it can be yanked by just laying on the ground and reaching under.
  5. Well, if they are done tastefully, I like them. Some day Bambikiller will get a repaint in a metallic blue with one or two Pearl White stripes.
  6. I have attached a length of twisted wire cable to the hood latch mechanism right where the standard cable attaches on Bambikiller. It hangs down about 24 inches along the side of the engine. When my 30 year old cable breaks, I'll simply reach up from under the car and give it a yank. Learned this trick on the IZCC mail list. BTW, instead of buying a new or used Hood Release cable, I've heard that you can have your old one repaired at many Motorcycle shops that make cables.
  7. Hi Jerry (and other F1 fans): I sure was disapointed that JPM wasn't able to take the title battle to Suzuka. I would have loved to see Shuey try one of his patented "My Balls are Bigger than your Balls" moves on this kid with the title on the line! Maybe Kimi will get a decent shot at the title, if Ferarri has troubles. There have been some pretty good races this year along with a few that were less than spectacular. All in all, I think the revised qualification prcedures worked pretty well from the viewpoint of the fan/spectators (well, at least for THIS fan). Next year they will be slightly different also. No Qual on Friday (an extra hour of practice instead), and on Saturday each car will have TWO separate (single lap) qual runs. This change will give the teams an opportunity to tweak the set-up a bit if they missed it the first time, or if weather conditions change. It should make for a long TV broadcast. Suzuka Here We Come! Carl Friday qual is scheduled to air on SPEEDTV at 10PM (Pacific time) Thursday evening. 1AM Friday morning for you Eastern guys. Saturday Qual is scheduled to air at 10PM (Pacific) on Friday evening. 1AM Saturday Eastern THE Race for the champoinship hits the air on Saturday evening at 10PM (Pacific) 1AM Sunday Eastern
  8. That picture would make a great postage stamp.:cheeky:
  9. Ya, but still......................with that "seat"; it looks like you'd get a comfortable ride! :stupid:
  10. If you are using the air pressure fitting described in other posts to this thread, the injected air pressure will hold the valve closed just fine. If you insert rope or rubber hose as described in some other posts, the valve will not drop either.
  11. "The seats are strapped in, the hardware for them has been removed to lighten the vehicle". YOU WILL NEED AN ENTRY SWITCH, S THE CAR IS SHAVED AND I ENTER THRU THE BACK. THERE IS NO HARDWARE FOR THE SEATS, THEY ARE RACING SEATS WITH SEAT BELTS HOLDING THEM IN AND HARNESS TO HOLD YOU AND A PASSENGER Is this guy (or the "builder") for real??????????????? SHEE-EYTE!! Sounds like the perfect vehicle in which to send Former CA Governor Gray Dufus out the door!
  12. So then James, it seems that you are satisfied with this outcome. That is good. I'm glad that they did this much for you. Still, it is too bad that they were not interested enough in making you a satisfied customer that they wouldn't actually do what they had agreed to do in the first place. This does say something for the shop, but IMHO is doesn't say much. "Here's your car, IC, and money back, now go away". Just my $.02 Carl
  13. SUre, if you have the parts and stuff and can weld, it is cheaper, and the way to go; but not all of us have welding equipment, and/or air fittings lying around. One is no better than the other, just that one or the other would be easier for different folks. Different strokes for Different Folks
  14. Should be able to buy the spark plug/air line adapter without going through the bother of welding up your own. Check around some before you go through the trouble.
  15. They can and will make lines for 240Z's. I bought Rear Brake Bridge lines for 6/72 to 1976 Z from them in Stainless Steel and they came out very nice.
  16. Looks pretty nice to me! Congrats!
  17. Hey, That's my bridge!:devious: I just bought it on eBay for a steal of a price considering what it is.
  18. They are widely considered as one of the best rebuilders of SU's in the USA. Their work is not cheap, but you get what you pay for.........
  19. It COULD be a Sppok but if it is , it's HIGHLY MODIFIED. Also, since the photo is of a car in Japan, I think it is more likely that it is a completely different piece.
  20. Look at the "50 latest uploads" to thje gallery, you'll find more pics there
  21. The picture in the first post of this thread does not look anything like the BRE Spooks we have in the USA.
  22. Thanks, I'll look into that. When my current battery dies, I'm goingto switch to a Group 24F battery so I can get the Positive lead out from under the fender and will be wanting custom cables to accomplish that. Carl
  23. I belonged to the SF Region of SCCA in the early 80's. Quit after 3 years due to all of the politics and BS that I encountered.
  24. For some reason the pictures won't come through when I view that webpage.
  25. So, where do you get high quality gold stuff like this to make your own battery cables?
