Concours, AACA, ZCCA will notice, believe me. Most AACA shows, the judges don't touch your car, they ask you to open doors, hatches, inspection panels, etc. They may ask about the magnets, just depends on the judge. The ZCCA will feel your car up to the extreme. They will notice a hair on the value cover. Been there, done that. MSA is peoples choice so it doesn't matter at all. Most standard local shows, I think judges would like the idea of the time you took to get magnets. Vicky

I think member mperdue has all this info too. Vicky

On my repro '72, Nissan put a sholder harness on the car. Did they actually come with that in '72? I know they had the lap belt but I didn't think the shoulder harness was standard equipment in '72 (for any car). This is the kind that connects together so you can either use both or just the lap belt. Vicky
  4. I agree Gavin. Up to a million for a Hemi 'Cuda is nutz. I can see 140K, but 1 miiiilllliiiioooon dollars, (as Dr Evil would say), is outlandish. There are quite a few other fine automobiles you can get for a million. Another "orphan" car that I've always liked is that AMX on the link. AMX is made by AMC, which we used to say stands for American Made Crap Vicky
  5. Great link!!! The 70's Old's Vista Cruiser, can you believe it. Check out the price for the 70 Hemi 'Cuda. Lots of nice cars. Very cool Vicky
  6. When I first got the Z's, I too called USAA since I have other vehicles and my home with them. They said no stated value insurance Vicky
  7. Poor Bin Laden. He thought his tape that was released Friday would scare all of us so we'd vote for Frankenstein, oops, Kerry. Little did Bin Laden know that his tape worked against him. Shoulda stayed in his cave. Idiot. Vicky
  8. As with all insurance companys the final decision is up them them. But why lie about it. You must submit pictures of your car to them when you sign up for insurance. If you have an accident and total your Z, I can almost bet that they would send an adjuster out to verify the "agreed value" of your claim. If they see a rust bucket, you aren't going to get 10K for you car. They have been in the classic car insurance business for awhile and are probably quite aware of people who claim to have something they don't. Insurance Fraud is Not Cool!!! Vicky
  9. Sorta true, but not just for trailer queens. Most people are missing the whole point of "specialty or classic" insurance. Hagerty and others assume that you will be extra cautious with your car. They want you to watch were you park it, don't rat race through the streets and keep the car stored in a safe area. This is why they "agree" to maxium value for the cars. Some insurance companys wont even cover a car that's 30 years old and used as a daily driver, at least not with the value that we as Z owners feel our cars are worth. Zrush is limited because the car is valued at so much and would cost well over 50K to replace. Neither the insurance company nor I want to have to replace that car. I pay over $1000 for 2 Z's and a car hauler so you can just imagine what a standard insurance company would charge me. Vicky

  11. Yes, I have read about the problems with the electronic machines. I actually perfer the punch cards better. The electronic machines seem as if there is no paper trail. I don't like the way the guy comes up and puts the "activator" in the machine. How do I really know what he's doing. At least with the punch cards I slipped it the device and no one helps do anything. I liked that. We'll see what happens with Florida and the rest of the country. I don't think we'll really know who our next president will be by tomorrow, do you? Vicky
  12. I'm going to vote as soon as Scott gets home. We have those electronic machines now so no Chads. I sure hope Florida is OK now. I'm sure everyone will be watching us Floridians:tapemouth Vicky

  15. Yes! Perfect! The "floating" directors chair. The car drives up, stops on a lift. Owner exits proceeds to open the doors, hatch and hood, then walks away. We, in our floating directors chair (of course, with cup holder) have a lever to position our inspection chair to go over, under and around the car. All non S30 vehicles drive up on what they think is the lift, but we fool them and it's actually a trap door, thus thinning out the riff-raff that we, as lazy spectators, don't want to view. Brilliant!! Vicky
  16. What a fantastic car. It's so pristine Reminds me of my friends '74 TVR. That little Toyota looks like it's just popped out of a time machine. Don't believe I've ever seen one before. Bravo on the link Ben :classic: Vicky
  17. My Hagerty Policy has in big black print that the vehicle will not be covered if it is used in ANY type of racing event. Front page of the policy. It's all very straight forward in my opinion. Vicky
  18. Better double check with whatever specialty insurance company your inquiring about. Most of them will not cover a car thats used for racing purposes. What about you vintage racer guys, how is your Z covered? Vicky
  19. Mine is my license plate. Vicky
  20. We get on the 10 in north Florida. It takes us all the way to L.A. Then Scott gets on some other funky freeways (210?, 55? 57? can't remember) into Anaheim. Exit on Katella Avenue then right to the host hotel, Ramada I believe. They provide lots of trailer parking. Vicky
  21. We will be leaving on Saturday (4/16) and getting into California on Tuesday (4/19). I want to be able to cruise the PCH or some other nice road. We all can meet and greet the day before the show and do something, eats and a Z cruise. We can't do much after the show Sunday as we have to load the car on the trailer and drive all the way back to Florida (yuck). If Saturday's event is lame, maybe we could do something then. I guess we have to wait and see what the event schedule will be. Z ya in 6 months :classic: Vicky
  22. Isn't there some sort of disclaimer, for lack of a better word, at the begining of the VB catalog that states they are in no way associated with Datsun and/or Nissan? I've always thought VB had non OEM items. I haven't seen one of their catalogs in years so I could be wrong. Vicky
