Color Choice
I've never really cared for a black Z but if you shoot the original Black Pearl that PPG can replicate, it's just beautiful. BPE with a set of polished panasports................very, very nice. Cobalt blue is spectacular also. Even the 350Z Brickyard might look good. So many choices. Vicky

So-So 1970 Diecasts at Big Lots
The Franklin Mint Z was the first model I bought. I've purchased other things from them so I thought I'd get their Z. I would never buy from them again after comparing them to other models. Franklin was way over priced and I agree that the Kyosho has most of the detail that the Franklin Mint one has. Vicky

So-So 1970 Diecasts at Big Lots
This Franklin Mint one I have actually has, like a velvet type material where ever the carpeting is supposed to be. Floor boards, hatch area. Pretty neat. The air cleaner even has the stickers on it. There's a sticker also where the paint code is on the radiator support. Even the blue oil filter has writting on it. Maybe I can get Scott to snap a picture of the detail. Vicky

So-So 1970 Diecasts at Big Lots
Actually for the money ($10.00) the Road Signature is the best. Doors, hood and hatch all line up. Front wheels turn. Engine turns over, nice and quiet Of course not. But the hub caps are off a '72. This model should have the "D"'s. Be cool if we could find one with the slots. Vicky

So-So 1970 Diecasts at Big Lots
For correctness and detail, I'd have to say the Franklin Mint one. Vicky

This could be fun.
Hi Stepehn The jokes are actually out of a car show magazine we subscribe to. I can never remember any jokes I hear . Steven Wright is funny. I always liked his HBO specials back in the day. My favorite comedian today is Lewis Black from the "Daily Show" on Comedy Central . He's so hyper and "in your face". Sam Kinison is my all time favorite, however. Vicky

This could be fun.
OK, here's something different... A jumper cable walks into a bar. The barman says "I'll serve you, but don't start anything." A sandwich walks into a bar. The barman says "Sorry we don't serve food in here." A dyslexic man walks into a bra. Two cannibals area eating a clown. One says to the other: "Does this taste funny to you?" Doc, I can't stop singing 'The green, green grass of home'. That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome. Is it common? It's not unusual. Two cows standing next to each other in a field, Daisy says to Dolly "I was artificially inseminated this morning." "I don't believe you, " said Dolly. "It's true, no bull!" says Daisy. A guy walks into the psychiatrist wearing only Glad Wrap shorts. The shrink says. "Well, I can clearly see you're nuts." I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any. What makes a great plug wire?
The reason I used MSD spark plug wires was that I changed the coil to a Crane PS40. I could'nt understand why the car ran like crap only to find out that I was fouling out 2 spark plugs on a constant basis. Well by accident I had the motor running with the hood up and it was dark in the garage and I could see arching from the boots of my Taylor wires. The spark was finding a ground to the head. Changed wires problem sovled. I use NGK BRES series plugs using a .035 gap. All's well Scott

Paint codes
My first Z , was a '78 and it was the same color as Stephens. At the time (1984) it seemed every Z I saw was that color blue. I also worked with someone who had the exact same color on her 78. FWIW Vicky

Powder Coated 240Z Suspension Finished

Republican or Democrats
Since this IS the "Funnybone" section, I'm posting a joke George W. Bush and d*** Cheney are having lunch at a restaurant near the capitol. d*** orders the Heart Healthy Salad. George W. leans over to the waitress and says, "Honey, could I have a Quickie?" The waitress is horrified and says, "Mr. President, I thought you would bring in a new era of morals and virtues to the White House. I'm sorry I ever voted for you!". She storms off. d*** leans over to the President and says, "George...I think it's pronounced "QUICHE". Vicky

280zx or small block?
I don't want to diss the 2.6 but many here feel that the 2.8 is the best bet. Like what 240ZX replied. My husband has the N42/N47 set up and she is a screamer but the car is not stock by any means. I'm more of the "sideline" Z lover as I was not present during much of the build of Zrush. My questions became irritating to my husband while he was building the car so I learn as much as I can here. Vicky

280zx or small block?
My opinion is if the Z you are talking about is as nice as the one in your avatar, or for that matter IS the one in your avatar, I'd put the engine that's suppose to be in that car, in other words, NO V-8's. That's been so overdone it's passe. Just my opinion, your car, do what makes YOU happy. Vicky

This could be fun.
Another funny one is from Chris Rock I do believe. He said something about one of his buddy's being so black, that when he got out of the car the oil light came on. (This is not meant to offend anyone so don't take it that way OK) Vicky

What makes a great plug wire?
Yeah, I had asked the question about those Nology Hotwires. $159.95 for a set of 4. Ricer gimmick I do believe. Anyway, Scott runs the NGK plugs with the MSD Super Conductor 8.5mm wires on the 77 280Z. He didn't like the Taylors for some reason or another. I believe they were not compatable with the coil he is using, at least at the time. Taylor now has a Thundervolt 10.4 mm wire that can handle 102,000 volt dielectric strength. I love the Summit magazines, they have so much stuff. Vicky

EXHAUST~~~~>
Isn't the 300ZX a V-6, or did that start in 1990? 280ZX's are straight 6's. Yes, with enough money, time and patience you can make anything fit. Vicky

clutch recomendation
Scott has the Centerforce II Dual Friction Clutch in his 77. I believe it's the "grabbing" power that is increased in the II. I know that there's absolutley NO slipping with this clutch. Even someone like me can rip through the gears and I'm no racer. Many other drive-line mods work with his set up so, naturally, I'm in the dark as to all the details. Vicky
