  1. I like them and want to put them in my Z some day when I pull the dash to have it redone (cracks and all) but two things that concern me... 1) I have a series I and would have to have the right overlays (i.e. the speedo starting at 20mph) 2) I want them to be durable and not fade, discolor, curl up, peal off etc. once installed
  2. Thank you for setting me straight Will....once again. I had not realized that there was this kind of a difference. I'll have to make sure and properly tag the parts I just pulled from a '75 parts car I'm stripping down so as to not get them confused and so I know that they will not work in a 240Z.
  3. I believe that all the 2 seater Z cars from '70 up to '78 all had the same doors, hoods, hatches, and fenders so these are all interchangeable...be sure you don't get parts from the 2+2 as some of those may be different.
  4. Climb back up under the car and twist the half shaft watching for where the play is located. If it's a U-joint you will see the play in that location and then know that this is what you have to replace. If your u-joints are tight and the play is at either end of the half shaft then repost with your findings and someone here who knows more than I do will be able to assist you further.
  5. DAMN HIM!! No, He told me he was listing them all on eBay and would be letting the auctions run their course. The one I was trying to buy before it was listed on eBay is the one from your previous post, the 1970 VIN #3486. You can bet he'll be getting another email from me!!!!
  6. What do you need? I just picked up a '75 280Z parts car last night and will be cutting it up very soon.
  7. Left as in driver's side? I just want to be clear as I have a 280Z that I'm going to be cutting up and the driver's side is torn but I believe that the pass. side is in good shape. Also, you can probably just ask Charly at Zedd Findings and he'll sell you just the side you need. I was going to do this for me with the floor pans as I only needed the pass side. Shipping was the same but parts cost was 1/2. All you have to do is ask.
  8. That's a bunch of $^!# if you ask me! I had been in contact with him and wanted to buy one that he had not even listed on eBay yet and I was told that he would not sell them outright, he was going to list them all on eBay and let the auctions run their course. I contacted him asking about this just this morning and am waiting on a reply. I'm not too thrilled at this point with his way of doing business. I see that you are bidding on one lonetreesteve. Good luck.
  9. If the above info holds true then I'd say that the P30 is a 280ZX crank.
  10. Ok...Johnson Family Vacation! Funny movie for anyone who has not seen it. Reminds me of the Lampoon's Vacation series but not quite as dumb.
  11. It's a good drive, I'm in Austin...in central Texas so it takes 8 hours just to get out of the state heading that direction, then cross NM on I-10, and into AZ. It's a bit of a trip.
  12. Just checked the one in my garage for ya and it's 45lbs and 32x7 inches (that's 7" at it's widest point).
  13. Yes, that guy is selling those every month or so on eBay. I don't know if he can't sell the ones he has or if he's making them to sell.
  14. DAMNIT! I've been discussing buying this car from him for the past two days and now he goes a lists it on eBay.
  15. Someone here was asking where to get one of these a while back, I'm thinking it may have been billramsey but I really can't recall. In any case here's one on ebay that I just saw: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7971387788&category=6763
  16. Then it's time to give them to me!!! I promise I'll give them a good home and all the attention they need.
  17. I swear Arizona Z Car has one of these but just looked and couldn't find it on their site. You may want to talk with them about this swap also since they seem to know what they are doing.
  18. I don't suppose that you or anyone else working on this mod happen to know the specs (length, thread, and diameter) of these bolts?
  19. I have a P79 that you can buy and do what ever you want with it.

And she's gone! I was looking at it last night and thought about it but decided not to. I'm still glad I didn't buy it...I'm just not ready for another one...nor a divorce.
  21. texasz replied to sHaDe's topic in Help Me !!
sHaDe, What everyone is implying here but has not come right out and said it is that this is a site dedicated to the Z car. To address your questions and really obtain the best information and most help I (and I'm sure most if not all on this site would agree) recommend that you locate a forum dedicated to the 240SX...I'm certain that there are several as this was also a fine Nissan car and well liked by many. We here don't know much about them nor are most all that interested so I doubt that this site would be of the most benefit to you as opposed to a 240SX site. Best of luck and if you do buy a Z some day please come back as this is the best Z car forum on the web!
  22. You're right Bambi...again you are able to correct my inaccurate info I pulled from memory while at work and not at home with my 'Z car library' in front of me for reference. Thank you!! I hope this didn't confuse anybody.
  23. Yank the engine, tranny, ECU, wiring, etc and scrap the rest. Then you won't have it sitting around your place.
  24. One thing to realize it that there is the original printing and then an '84 reprint out there. I have heard that the original is better than the reprint. I personally have the reprint (just got it but haven't read it yet)...and the originals go for a large some of cash on eBay...like $80+ :surprised If anyone here is willing to part with an original printing for a FAIR price, not an eBay price, please let me know.
  25. I know that you are in AR and thought you may be interested in this: http://www.zcar.com/classifieds/index.php?method=showdetails&list=advertisement&rollid=23072&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=29& For $300 you could have yourself a 280ZX turbo and a 5-speed to pop into one of your 240Z cars if you like. Would be a shame to see these fine parts to to waste in the junk yard.
