I bit my tounge on this statement but your are correct Will, the hatch glass is not worth that much used...new...maybe...but not used. Yes, this is true and I feel it went for more than it was worth...but then again this is why I was out bid on it and Chris has it. It was certainly worth more to him as he now has two sequential Z cars and I highly doubt that there is anyone else in the world who can say that (opinion here, not fact). So as one can see this would prompt him to bid higher than many others just as it would have me if I were in his position. The bottom line here it supply and demand coupled with pure desire. I agree with the statements to put it on eBay and see what she'll fetch....however I would much rather you sell it to me instead. Do be aware that any Joe Schmoe can buy it off of eBay and may not have to same attachment to the Z cars as those of us in this, and other, forums do and as such someone on hybridz may end up with it and hack her to pieces like the ol' chicken coop car last year so please keep this in mind if you really want it to go to a vintage Z buff and not just anyone with the most cash.

Ok, so it took me a bit longer to get this done than expected as I have been ill. But! I did get it done. Please let me know how mine measures up to the ones that you guys have and if this is infact for a 240Z please.

Actually, I would have to agree with Carl's vauleation of this car. It was only late last year that another early Fairlady sold on eBay for about this...and we all know how people tend to over pay on eBay sometimes getting caught up in the excitement of the bidding. I also must agree with Bambi's statements about sourcing parts for a Fairlady restoration...personally I have a series I and find if VERY difficult to locate some parts for this car and it's a US market car.

I'm with hls30.com and AWC, if I weren't so far away I'd consider it and then start marketing them actively so begin to recoop my costs. BUT, I live much too far away to transport all the parts also. It's a REAL shame about the parts in Albuquerque, those were much closer and had I known I may have tried to save them.

That's interesting, I have Ad-Aware and Spybot and it still loads fine for me. Hey alright, let's resort to name calling like children!! I was just surprised to see this come up again, that was all. I also posted that site so that in the future anyone who wants to know what gas costs here will know VERY easily...that site is kept up to date and yes, it's only a sample of what is around town but it paints a good enough picture. If next time you are going to start out with insults please do skip it...at least the insults.

I tried that and it didn't work. There must be a bunch of sealant in there holding it in. That's basically the tool I was looking for in the store but couldn't locate. Thanks on the lead on the type of wire to use, I wouldn't have known where to start looking for that. I wish you lived closer! Anyone got the best and easiest way to remove a 240Z windshield without damaging it? I checked at O'Rielys for a windshield removal tool and they didn't have anything.

Not true. This is a transferable lifetime service...that is transferable to another owner or another unit (as in if you upgrade to a newer one). I have done both in the past already. As for the newest largest one available...a hacked unit will ALWAYS be larger that anything they sell in the stores for some odd reason. All it is a a computer hard drive from the store (this is how you upgrade a TiVo) and the units run a customized version of Linux to make it all work. Upgrading is really not all that difficult (mine was a bit more complicated as I took mine from a unit with two smaller drives to on big drive...this can become complicated). If you are not savy on these things there are a couple companies out there that will do it for you even. For those who don't know you should check out www.9thtee.com for all your TiVo goodies! I failed to mention this...I too have video distribution where the TiVo and the DVD player in the living room may be watched on any other TV in the house...this includes my arcade game in the second living room. That bad boy runs MAME and plays over 3400 vintage/classic and some newer arcade games, has a TVTuner card so we can watch TV/TiVo/DVD on it and is networked so it has internet access and can also play anything from our music collection via a video jukebox program which accesses our MP3 server in my home office. The arcade was my pre-Z car project. I was prompted to finally finish it when I bought the Z and needed the garage for it instead.
