  1. I used this stuff on a boat I have about 13 years ago...worked great!
  2. This is actually against eBay's user agreement and selling policies. When you see these types of aucitons they should be reported and eBay will deal with it.

FWIW: Here's another project car in the East part of the country: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=4561118637&rd=1
  4. Ken, I'm so glad to hear that you are keeping the Z!!!! Just put her a side for a bit while you get other things worked out and then when the time is right pull her our, dust her off and enjoy her some more. Things have been tight here also and mine has not even been started since December...nor will she run properly until I get a new/rebuilt engine and carbs put in. So in my garage she sits until I can pull together the money for the work. But I know she will be sitting there waiting when the time is right.
  5. Mr. Camo, I think that Dave has it covered. V8-240Z, thank you for the link!! Now that second link is to MY WEBSITE! That just goes to show that even I don't know what all is on there due to the vast amount of information.
  6. Not sure how large the file is but could you zip it up and email it to me?
  7. Maybe the guy's from the Netherlands....*shrug* I heard back from the seller and here's what he had to say. As to the Triumph vs Porsche issue that is a Porsche 914 but the guy did say he has a Triumph.
  8. I too saw this car this morning and even sent a question to the seller asking him to please explain to me the contradictions in his auction (incorrect VIN, listed as a 1970 but titled as a 1971...we know this one but I wanted to see what he would say and how he knows it's a 1970 with the missing door jamb data plate..., and also the flat top carbs). All the other things you guys have pointed out slipped by me...but then again I just took a very quick look and sent my questions. No replies yet... Did anyone else notice that the hood is the later vented one from a 280? And God only knows where those seats came from! This is a VERY curious mis-match of parts from who knows how many cars.
  9. I remember reading a post here a while back indicating that the VB VIN chart was not all that accurate.
  10. Impact wrench if you have one or can get a buddy's.
  11. That's correct, take a look at the list of what diff and ratio was in what auto posted above...that is all US information. The R180 3.9 was only made avaliable in the US for 6 months in the front end of a 720 4x4 truck. :surprised So yes, may state side Z owners are looking for the R180 3.9 diff and will likely have a very hard time locating one or never see one. Many here would want your diff BUT probably not for the cost of shipping. FYI: I lucked out (more like a lot of phone calling) and located an R180 3.9 diff in Arkansas two years ago. It only had 25000 miles on it, the guy totalled the truck when it was only 2 years old and the diff has been sitting on a shelf at the junk yard ever since. IIRC it cost me about $105 including shipping to my door. NO! It's not for sale either.

Yes, at a quick glance this looks to be the same colloction for the most part (we both have added to it). This means that you are the person who shared this content with me some time back and I wish to say a great big huge THANK YOU!!!!! This information has been very informational and helpful to not only myself but also to others. I'd have given credit sooner but I lost the emails we exchanged and thus could not remember who provided the starting point for me. Gentlemen, V8-240Z is someone we should all be thanking for starting this collection of information. He shared it with me some time back (I think it was only about 500MB or so at that time...may have been up to 800MB, don't remember) and I have been hosting that content on my server and adding to it as well...but had V8-240Z not got me started I'm not sure I would have any Z content posted to the web.

Tomo, the link you posted was to your copy of 'the ultimate link' page. Do you still have this available? I have not seen it in quite some time and I recall there being some good links on there.
  14. texasz replied to gema's topic in Open Chit Chat
Glad to see it's helpful to people, that's why I made it available!! This is housed on my server sitting right next to me here in my home office so space is not really an issue at all...although speed is since I'm only on a DSL connection. As always, if anyone has more useful or interesting info to add just contact me.

Driving from El Paso To the East Texas boarder on I-10 I believe is a good 13+ hour drive!! Do that on the East coast and you've gone through 10 states (ok, maybe I'm exagerating about the 10 states a little).

I think I have bought from him also and since nothing is coming to mind it was obviously not a bad experience.

Yes, I believe that you are looking for the site I am hosting and it is up to 1.54GB now!! :surprised URL: http://www.pape.ws/allan_and_rosanne/Z-Car_Stuff/ If you have any content to add please let me know! Tomo, your link does not seem to be working.

Here's another rolling chassis that looks really good, the rear bumper area has already been shaved even!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7984280664&category=6763
  19. You've seen mine already but here it is in the proper thread... Production date 8/70 HLS30-08215
  20. Damn I wish I could swing buying it from you Ken...you have a very nice car and I'm very sad to hear that you are forced to sell it...I know how hard you worked on it and what it means to you.
  21. FWIW I have the Motorola T6250 (about three years old now) and they work nicely. We took them to New Orleans and from the hotel to the river (about 1 mile) there didn't do too well (LOTS of interference with other radio waves, buildings, etc; this was all in the French Quarter mind you) but on shorter distances around the area they worked nicely. Here's a webpage that describes their features decently: http://www.csonline.net/crawford/T6250.htm You can also check out people's opinions here: http://www.epinions.com/pr-Motorola_Talkabout_T6250_2-way_Radio Personally I like it but for longer distances keep your cell phone handy.
  22. Check out my gallery, those pix were taken three years ago right after bringing her home and cleaning her up a bit. It basically looks the same except for the spare tire well, I sanded it down to bare metal then used POR-Putty to fill any rust holes and then applied POR15 to prevent any rust in this area ever again.

Is it a roller? If so transporting it would be a lot easier...just roll it up onto a trailer. This would make a big difference in shipping costs for zman!
  24. They are low but the good news is that they are consistant. This means that your engine is tired but it is wearing evenly and properly.
