  1. I am a babbling fool and thanks to you guys and gals that's okay. I won't be jailed or worse. Thank you for all you've done for us. Cliff
  2. Check the air box and filter. Could be full of acorns. The sweeper vane on the afm could be stuck. Tps could be sticking on idle side. Fuel filter could be clogged etc. As Zed Head says more info.
  3. Bring a trailer, bat.com. is what I would do for mine. They seem to bring the best prices right now. Ebay has gotten to be a flippers source. They won't get top $$$. Take some pictures and post it up here. You'll be pleastly surprised as to what it's worth from our "peanut gallery". ?
  4. That's what I would do. Keep your distributor with the carb. That's what we've all done but with dual carbs. Should be the same. The '83 matcbox has those extra 2 terminals on them. I think that's the e12-92 or something. I've read the extras are for the crank sensor but cant confirm. I also read you can leave that plug open. Another unconfirmed answer but the info is out there on the www.
  5. Yes, welcome to the forum. '83 is the cream of the crop with all the bells and whistles or "bitchin Betty" telling you your lights are on. Does your state require inspection? That will be a big factor in the hot rodding aspect.

I put ZX dizzy and coil on my '72. Gap is set at .46 from my research. Well after a quick google they say .42 to .44 for my set up. Maybe they're on .44...
  7. My Dad always rubbed the rear panels to find a handful of tar. That was his white glove test and the start of my get bitched out day.
  8. When my wipers lift it's time to back off.
  9. My local Nissan parts manager said he can go only to '93. I get the numbers and to our disbelief they are still available.
  10. We all like a good chuckle, sorry it's on your dime though.
  11. This reminds me of a painting my Mom had, "If you can't baffle them with brilliance buffalo them with bulls**t".
  12. That's a good one Phillip. I had a D21 pickup that broke up at about 3,000rpms. The cap was causing it to jump spark. Drove me crazy for a year before I spent that $10 on a suggestion by a friend that had been through the same.
  13. @gwri8 Your tricycle motors are way more expensive than these!
  14. Well that's cool as all get out! I hope you sale thousands. ?
  15. Engine tick is most likely loose valves, easy fix. High hanging rpm is most likely boost controlled deceleration device, easy fix. It's late for my old arse but will tell what I know tomorrow. Nice car and welcome to our forum. You'll get all the help you ask for just be patient. Cliff
  16. Don't get zipper locked like Levis jeans. Do they make button fly baggies?
  17. Rubber on a flywheel? Well there's your problem right there (in my best Larry the Cable Guy voice).
  18. wizz bombs! That's what the truckers call them. I have empty Gatorade bottles in my work truck that I pull my mower with. The opening is a little snug though. I used to pee in beer bottles, what a sight going to jail for dui with wet pants.
  19. It's in the tool section at my local Lowes. About $3 if i remember right. That small amount will outlast me.
  20. I wonder if a metal wire or strap like for cv boots would work to go around the outside and pull it all in tight? There's plenty of room on the outer side, right?
  21. That's what I use too. No problems with mine, they have a good response from a dead stop. Blue 3 in 1 from Lowes.
  22. Mine is a Tilton or Tifton maybe? Anyway it's aluminum except the contact surface. I don't know what a single or double mass flywheel is. It came with a 240 project car I bought off a dude years ago. My only recollection of clutch chatter is when they get burnt, hot spots on the friction ring from "riding the clutch". Holding your car on a hill with the clutch instead of the brakes. I always have mine cut down to fresh metal when I change out a clutch. Cliff
  23. Never heard that before. Get your OE one cut and lightened. Thats the cheaper route.
