Restoration of BringaTrailer 240z - HLS30-35883
That would've been an issue for me. That weld looks terrible. Get them to buy you a new one that's been on here last month. I mean call somebody when changing/disregarding your instructions and a plan for restoration. Jeez, everyone ASSumes they doing what's best for you.

COVID-19
Well seeing the activity here I'm gonna go out a long skinny limb and say this is weighing heavy on all of us. Lets stay positive and continue. It's very helpful to me hearing the different views. We have to get this "Z" figured out no matter the cost and hard work involved. The rust is just getting worse. Our valves need adjusting.

They filmed a movie about Kent state here in gadsden. Most at our junior college campus and some at my middle school. We were in class one morning and an old huey landed on our baseball field right outside the classroom. 1981... https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0082608/locations

COVID-19
He's sending federal troops to Democrat run cities! Not to help with covid-19 but to bully the elected officials. Oh crap, the election November 3rd is useless. He says he doesn't lose very often and doesn't take it well. He's lost every important battle he's been in as a civilian so he should take his losses in stride like bankruptcy.

choke lever bracket
@zKars may sale you the oem bracket. He has a master collection of 240 parts. If not start a new thread asking for one. Somebody has one they would sale, I guarantee it. Happy trails!

choke lever bracket
That yellow one is the oem that mounts to the console. The flat one singer makes is to mount it to the tunnel getting off the plastic console. The oem does not come with singer's plate.

choke lever bracket
Well apparently mr singer sales wholesale now. Here's where I would buy another one. Good guy runs this business as opposed to datsunparts llc. https://zcardepot.com/products/choke-lever-mounting-plate-reinforcement-240z?variant=19278822637681¤cy=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google+shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIz66cvcPc6gIVC5yzCh0nxw-3EAQYASABEgL66vD_BwE

choke lever bracket
I bought 2 from art singer on ebay. They work great. You have to be really careful installing, take your time and make sure the choke light button is right. His instructions are minimal at best but you can find way better info off the internet from others that have installed them.

COVID-19
When I hear "deep state conspiracy" I think of those cats in Portland and now my opinion on armed individuals starting a militia has changed. That sort of over reach from the federal government scares me. "Granny get your gun"! The Chris Wallace interview was very telling.

Taillight Removal
Glad you got it off. I was going to say stick a small flathead between the nut and plastic but wasn't sure so I kept quiet, rare occurrence. What about a nylon nut? Nyloc nut, my bad. Glue the nuts in their holes.

high idle speed issue
@Jeff G 78 I think he runs both on his race car? I have not built mine yet but I will use both on my e31 head with a Schneider cam kit. I have turbo pumps on both my Zs and they flood the valvetrain when I spun the pump with a drill before 1st start up. I read a lot of post with people using both with the higher volume pump. Actuall my 9/76 has both on the early n47 head from Nissan. That came looked great in 2011 when I bought the car. That's from '76 to 2011 without the turbo pump. At idle it barely moved the needle on the gauge. With a turbo Melling pump it sits halfway then I installed a new head with just internal oiling cam. Now it's 3/4 gauge at idle. My spray bar 240 with the turbo pump pegs the needle at idle. the melling 152 is the turbo pump. Cost me $60 8 years ago from Advance Auto.

Front SU Carb pulling in a TON more air than the rear - Help...
Following up. That bookmark "suffered a critical failure" so no good anymore. It was some English car parts site for Austin Healeys and MGs. Did a quick search, ztherapy comes up 1st. They're out there. Good luck. https://www.google.com/search?rls=ig&ei=A0kUX4TWONXA1QGd_ZToBQ&q=hitachi+su+carburetor+throttle+shafts+&oq=hitachi+su+carburetor+throttle+shafts+&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQAzIICCEQFhAdEB4yCAghEBYQHRAeOgQIABBHOgIIADoFCAAQzQI6BAghEAo6BQghEKABOgUIIRCrAlCmMViMhwFgxp4BaABwAXgAgAF8iAHzDZIBBDIwLjGYAQCgAQGqAQdnd3Mtd2l6&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwjE44C5tNnqAhVVYDUKHZ0-BV0Q4dUDCAw&uact=5

78 280Z - no injector pulse
I remember Virto. Had a red 2+2 280. Honestly most people read from the last post in a thread by clicking on the date at the bottom. I know I do. Unfortunately we miss the original problem. I agree, it's best to start a new one with your specifics. Is that a tree trunk or a real elephant? Cool picture no matter what.

COVID-19
We all have this supposedly. What if a it's a part A so far, part B's is coming later? Russia and otjers are trying to take away vaccination trials. They sale vaccine at $5,000 a dose. Yearly at least? What if... Some Dr Evil stuff right there.

280Z AFM troubleshooting / Running rich.
If it looks like it's been opened I'd pop the black cover off and make sure that weighted sweeper vane is freed up and moving nice and smoothe. Maybe clean the contact pad too. Check the tps also. It could be stuck on the wide open side. The multi meter guys will be all over this, you've actually done something.
