This is the compliance plate, fitted by Australian authorities when the car was imported/sold in Australia. It is not the manufacture date of the car. I assume that the car would have been bought into Australia late in 73. It is not a 74 240z. Joseph

Ive heard/seen it before in the UK, but not in OZ.
  3. It would be interesting if someone could post a copy of the RHD version wiring diagram. The buzzer with associated wiring is clearly shown on the LHD version wiring diagram. Is anyone able to do this? Thanks Joseph
  4. Hey Carl I realised that about 10 seconds after I hit the post reply button! Zedrally, are you saying we didnt get this here in Australia? Joseph
  5. How did it know that the door was open? Joseph
  6. Isnt the "first" silver car done by/for the program owned by Nissan and housed in their hq at Gardena CA? Joseph
  7. Just a guess here; beeper may = deeper?
  8. Hello Carl Are you able to figure this one out. When I put my wipers on they work for the full, correct arc for about the first half dozen strokes, then the drivers side seems to do a longer arc, so long it flips out past the windshield rubber. Turn them off, they return to park. Turn them on and the same thing happens, ie work correctly for about 6 strokes then the drivers side runs long in its arc. Any ideas? It bugs the hell out of me. Thanks JOseph
  9. Hello Carl Thanks for the reply. Im pretty safe in saying that mine hasnt failed in this way :> Joseph
  10. Carl Interested to know how you can tell if a pilot bushing has failed with it installed in the car. Thanks Joseph
  11. FWIW This car was garaged in Melbourne for the 18 years. It was for sale late last year for about $10k. I looked into buying it. I assume that the guy now selling it in SA bought it from the seller in Melbourne. He hasnt done anything to it, maybe the alarm. Joseph
  12. Enrichen the mixture a bit.
  13. You'd be surprised what your local Nissan dealership can provide you, if you know the part number. They dont seem to like looking up part numbers for nuts, bolts washers etc. If you have a part number, there seems to be no problems. Ive even had Nissan Australia get me replacement bolts from Japan. Joseph
  14. 300 point concourse guys reading this; beware if you are thinking of replacing all of your old bolts with new, genuine Nissan ones. Many of the bolts I am getting from Nissan here in Australia no longer have the bolt grade stamped into the head, ie 4, 7, 9. Joseph
  15. You think $12k is pricey for this one. It was first advertised about a month ago on another classifieds website for $22k! It was for sale late last year in Melbourne, owner was asking about $10k for it then. I got some pics at the time. From the sellers description it hasnt had anything done to it in this time. Joseph
  16. The 2+2 in this auction has been listed in the Trading Post and on other for sale classifieds websites for several months now. Asking price there was $14k, assumed with the plates. Where is the antenna? Take a look at the hole, it has either been patched with primered metal or had duct tape put over it. Joseph
  17. Hey V12 Yes, I have seen probably close to a dozen RHD 240z's here in Australia which came equiped with the Japanese domestic market bullet type fender mirrors as original/standard fitment. When it came to mirrors, we got a mixed lot here. Regards Joseph
  18. I think the new one as shown in the pics is more for protection of the wiring harness as it passes over the metal of the body. The old one is for sealing purposes. I dont believe they are interchangable. The newer one is as seen in the rear hatch area (remove your inner plastic trim panels). FWIW Joseph
  19. Agreed, but it depends on what you are going for with your car. The high heat paint wasnt that much more than the regular clear anyway. Just by a big can of the Holts stuff and you will have enough. I did 4 coats on all of the pieces. Note I painted mine while the tranny was apart and then touched it up when it was put back together, just prior to installing it. Joseph
  20. Amend my post to bead blast/clear coat using high heat paint, this is what I did and so far it has stood up well. You can also get a flame resistant clear but it is probably overkill. Joseph
  21. Not that I saw. He sells the full length replacement outer skins, ie from top of door to bottom of door. The original/new trims were something to behold though. Joseph
