Just read the BAT ad for the red series 1. It is interesting that they now dont mention the colour change from green to red as was mentioned in the Hagerty Marketplace ad. The only indication is shown in listing photograph 98 of an old invoice dated 1970 something which mentions the colour of the car as green. As zspert mentioned earlier the colour change may be a factor hurting the price of this one.

240z Complete Replacement Shell - The Ultimate Rust Repair Panel

Yeah, Im not convinced myself. This is their latest youtube video featuring the shell. As Alan mentioned above at the end of the day a Datsun with a body made in China isnt a Datsun anymore!

There are a few things on that fairlady that Im not sure why you would do it such as the black underside. Jay had it listed on ebay USA for a while until it eventually sold to the current owner/dealer.

Somewhere along the line I remember seeing a quality control checklist used by Nissan for the program. Maybe that would provide some insights? Google search links me to what appears to be the New Zealand Z Car Club and no permission to view the attachment to the forum post which is a copy of the checklist. I vaguely remember seeing it on here somewhere but cant find it.

Yes, thats the point Im trying to make. I also note that Carl has this particular car logged on his "Vintage Z" Owners Register. The photo of the car shows that it had original steel wheels and "Z" style hubcaps installed, I assume when it left the remanufacturer. So, the installation of the Panasports is yet another change from "Factory".

The factory radio delete plate on these cars is interesting as they still fitted an antenna/aerial. I know some cars in the UK originally were supplied without radios and there was a rubber plug fitted in the rear quarter panel where the antenna/aerial was fitted, but this car is a different kettle of fish I guess. The only thing I am able to assume is that Nissan configured some of the program cars like this so that the new owner had the choice radio/stereo. Assuming 26th knows? Also interested to ask with the parts replacement on this car namely the rear wheel cylinders, steering rack and suspension bushes, spark plugs, rear main seal and exhaust system, if this car is now considered as not as per original factory program rebuild specifications or if the above is considered as consumables, ie normal wear and tear parts that need to be replaced from time to time? Am I being too picky? Maybe everything apart from the exhaust system.
