  1. Are your oil pressures good? Do you have any excessive engine noise?
  2. I doubt the engineers reversed the reservoir locations for no reason. Not totally sure what it was, but it costs money to retool and redesign parts. It doesn't really happen for no reason
  3. It's probably a brass radiator. Just drain it good and let it air dry. Then cap the open ports once it's dry
  4. The seals on modern electrical connectors are much more robust and water tight
  5. I would think it should function either way but should be corrected at some point. Probably not the source of you brake dragging though. My guess is the front circuit being moved closer to the pedal has something to do with a rear brake circuit failure, but just a guess
  6. I use lots of brake clean. I buy ot by the case. I have found it can remove some paints but that's pretty rare. It can also hurt some plastics. Now dont confuse that with carb cleaner!! I have found carb cleaner to be super aggressive at damaging paints and plastic
  7. No idea. I think the best bet would be to just mock it up and make some measurements
  8. The service manuals should be in the technical section here on the site or possibly at Xenon
  9. Is the Ebrake cable pulled at that wheel or is there slack right there adjacent to the hub?
  10. Simple green is pretty benign. if it takes the paint off Purple Power probably will too. Drop back to hot water and Dawn dish soap. You might be able to up it to dishwasher soap which is a little stronger...
  11. Magnets are important! I have some fender pads but without magnets they won't stay in place. I have asked for someone to put magnets on them for Christmas for two years now but no luck...
  12. Using the emergency brakes shouldn't make them drag. Brake shoes not returning could do it or brake cylinders corroded and not returning could do it... Those are my first thoughts
  13. Glad you're ok Cliff! I had it in 2020. It took a while to get fully over it.
  14. Yes, I agree it's different in Europe!! Your car is worth more in Europe than in the US, so your $50-60k is still probably a little low. If you had to replace your car, what would it cost? A similar candidate in Europe costs what? Importing a car from he US would be the $50-60k plus importing costs... My2cents...
  15. The forum can be a funny thing. It is easy to misunderstood or to take offense where none is intended. Sometimes it's good to read things a couple of times to try to determine what a poster really intends.
  16. That was part of my reason for asking. For most of the members here there is enough anonymity that people can't find you, don't know you or connect the dots. There are many people here that I have no idea what their name actually is (Zed Head for instance). In a situation like that, it seems the information would have very minimal opportunity for blow back. That was the case when the sellers were anonymous... As for sellers that sell below what someone else thinks they should, who cares...when the critic owns the car they can sell for whatever they want. These cars have appreciated greatly, but we are not a Ferrari or Porsche level marque and I would hate to see the classic Datsun go that way...
  17. Yes, I will reply with some pictures Friday or Saturday
  18. Congrats on the excellent sale! It was very well done and deserved a good price. Don't spend it all in one place 😉
  19. My experience has been that headers tend to leak more often than the cast manifold. A high quality header, maybe not... I just don't think they're as dimensionally stable as the cast mainfold
  20. I wasn't really looking for specifics... I thought it would be an interesting anecdote if a survivor Z like this could be found for a reasonable number. After watching BaT, cars like this bring, sometimes, serious money. I thought it would be encouraging to others who might be looking for a car to validate that nice cars are still available for a reasonable price. That is why I asked
  21. My main heat source in the shop is an overhead forced air closed burner propane unit, but it stirs up a lot of dust. I can probably get the heat up, keeping it warm would be a problem until it's out of dust. So your just letting your overspray settle where it wants? No forced air movement? No concerns about the open burners and paint fumes going boom? C
  22. Disappointing...
  23. Its been slow for me for a while. On my phone I get a blank white page for a minute or more S8+
