  4. My only concern is, that might not help My concern would be knowing how and where to weld it. I have the welder but without a cap to test it, I might be flying blind. The powder coat looks good though...

  14. EFI tanks are usually more desirable because they have larger ports and are used in a lot of Hybrid swaps
  15. That looks good. Smear a little fiberglass over the seems to fill any pinholes and smooth them a little, then primer...good to go!

  19. I have done one before. 80% is pretty easy. the last little bit makes you sweat a little bit because the windshield flexes as it comes in the frame. Extra hands help as the windshield wants to move away from the side that is already installed. $300 in labor seems a little steep...
  20. That block is trash. Welding won't work because of the stress lines in the block. Also diesels run 22:1 compression so they put a lot of stress into the block. I have sourced another block, almost $1000. I was working on getting the crank out, which comes out the back of the block, which would be another $1000 if it's not salvageable...
  21. Yes the old gas could cause this problem. Although it sounds like an overly lean condition. The first thing is to get the old gas out of the system. The injectors might be clogged. Also you could have a large vacuum leak somewhere. Torn boot or broken pipe or vacuum line somewhere...
  22. The flip side of that is if you can't verify it's a black pearl and it has all the features it should then the person you sell it too can't verify it either...so if it looks like a black pearl then it's a black pearl....

Found the threads on Black anodes http://forum.caswellplating.com/forum/electroplating-questions/15358-black-marks-on-finished-zinc-plated-item http://forum.caswellplating.com/forum/electroplating-questions/7741-zinc-anodes-turning-black apparently not an issue. On another note is anyone here using the blue chromate prior to yellow chromate?
  24. It's a Shibaura. I believe I spelled that right.... I am pretty sure that's ..."No es bueno!"
  25. The finish on the part seems pretty good. No rough looking at all at least if the part is smooth. I was wondering if the black could be contaminants in the plating solution...
