  1. Ya, and you don't want to get a 'charge' from it either!
  2. Bruce what's vinegar bath and it's proportions?
  3. Well, to me it looks like someone is stealing a park bench!

Are you wearing your seatbelt? I recall (barely) that my 78 Z had a fasten seatbelt warning buzzer, but I thought it activated as soon as I started the engine. Hope this helps!
  5. Thanks ZmeFly. I checked out a few subjects and found them to be well done. It'll be very handy for us 'visual' types. Thanks for the lead & link!
  6. It kinda looks like the back of Victor Laury's head!.....but nah, it couldn't be.:stupid: 'cause he's a Datsun guy!!
  7. Victor, Is that to hang out in Mexican internet cantinas?

Eh.... It's a great opportunity to start a food fight with relatives you don't particularly like! LOL
  9. My buddy Vince and myself (on the right).

  11. echocluster MotorSport Auto (MSA) has them. You have a choice between leather, black or chrome. They are carried under accessories/interior/miscellaneous in the 'Z Store'. Here's thier web address: http://www.motorsportauto.com/
  12. BRAVO Rick!:classic: Thank you.
  13. I have the same exact louvers for my Z and they really help to keep the car cool and protect the rear carpet from the sun. Also I prefer the 'rounded' style of these over the 'hard edge' style for the early Z's. Mine are off the car right now as I'm in the process of fixing some rust spots. There is rust under where the hinges were at the top. I haven't tried it yet, but I've thought about POR-15 the small area under the hinges and making thin rubber gaskets the same size as the hinges to be installed under them to keep them from rubbing the topcoat. I'd do the same for the spring-bolt latches. I'd also use stainless steel sheet metal screws instead of galvanized to prevent rust. You didn't say what shape your new louvers are in. If they're well used, you might want to refurbish them by taking them apart, clean and paint, re-rivet (with aluminum rivets), and install new rubber edging on the top, sides, and on the spline (the center piece) where the louvers rest on the hatch and glass.
  14. COOL! Thanks Mike!
  15. Ya, for chat meetings and out of curiosity's sake. Nothing heavyweight. I know nothing about web site setup. I was thinking of just a link on the main page. Nothing embedded or anything like that that would be a burden. Thanks for your help and time Mike.:classic:

Since I have a difficult time determining what time it is where some of you all live and feel that I'm not alone, I've included a link here to a web page that'll give you the current time of anyplace around the world. It sure beats buying 24 clocks to represent each time zone! If you think this is a useful enough tool to post on our site, let Mike know and maybe he can incorporate it into the site somewhere. Mike, I hope I'm not being pushy here. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/
  17. I just paid $2.20 for 89 octane at a Chevron station. Too high when you consider that California produces most of the gas we use here. Maybe the high price of gas will force the astronomical price for a fixer upper house ($300,000) down!
  18. So Rick, Are you going to let us in on what it's going to cost you for your wife saving your life?!?! I hope it's not the rest of your blood!
  19. Don't give up now. You're almost there! You wouldn't trade your sick wife in would you? Maybe I shouldn't go there. The point I'm trying to make is, you've gone this far and you have a lot of time invested in this 'baby'. You probably know everything there is to know about THIS car. On the other hand, EVERY new car comes with unknown surprises that cost money, time and aggravation. At least with your '76 you know what's been done and what needs your attention. Sure there's going to be surprises once in a while, but not as many as an unknown car. Someone a long time ago asked me, 'how long do you plan to keep that car'? My reply was, 'as long as I can still get parts for it'! I hope this reply to you convinces you to stick it out.
  20. I owned a factory stock and well maitained '78 280Z from '80 to '92, so I know these cars pretty well. From the pictures I've seen, this car is completely original right down to the green insert in the shift knob, the hub caps, and how the rear valance above the bumper arcs down in the center. It also appears to be in very good condition. Everything inside looks to be well maintained or new. Like the lettering on the controls, the condition of the original steering wheel, door panels, and weatherstripping. If I were looking for a Z car to buy that didn't need a lot of work, I'd be interested in one of this calibre. But, I'd sure want to see documentation to validate the owner's claims. And since you're only about 60 miles from where the car is, i'd suggest a juant up north before you commit. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

That's a great one Nate! The last act of defiance.
  22. Well, since Iraq is considered the birthplace of civilization, I think we should ALL go back there! Do ya think they'll welcome us with open arms (anatomically speaking)? Gee, I hope the'll let us bring our Z cars with us! P.S. I've got dibs on a palace!
  23. That's OK Carl, Sometimes I'm Houston Central and sometimes I'm a space cadet. It just depends on the day!
