  1. Nissan still sells the sending unit, but WOW they have gone up in price. I picked up mine for around $225.00.
  2. Other places.... This 71 survivor just popped up on Craigslist in Seattle (Lake Tapps) $5000 craigslist1971 datsun 240z for sale by owner - Bonney Lake, WA - cr...Original owner. Car was driven to current house 25 years ago and has been parked outside garage ever since. I had hoped to rebuild the car but never found the time. The hood release was jammed so we..
  3. I'm also in the many 4 speed style category. Plus I am nowhere near GA. so shipping would be costly.
  4. I have never bought from Steve before, but I am confident he is a stand up seller. We have 35 Mutual friends. Datsun Parts and Accessories is a scam page though. Be carful you pick the right Steve Ehlers. The one I know lives in Fort Worth TX and runs a store called Rising Sun Performance & Motorsports. He is usually the one calling out the scammers. I have a hoard of S30 parts I am selling as well. Perhaps I could help as well. I am in WA state.
  5. If you are not looking for show quality, I have some tail light panels with or without the license plate part. Shipping would be from WA 98579 I have a few parts cars too so if you need something else.... I have an S1 and also like to have back up parts but sometimes I get more than I need. LOL
  6. "Just almost close enough" I thought I had the one you needed. I've had those listed for over two years.
  7. This is my listing for one of the gears, If that is the one you are after. I have a box of NOS bearings too. eBayNissan FS5W71C Reverse Main Gear / Bushing 240SX - D21...Shows to fit 1993 -1994 240SX and 1992 - 1993 - 1994 D21 pick up On the Nissan site. Well then, it looks like all my date theories are out in the trash. I guess it boils down to either you have the flap or you don't!! Simple!!
  9. Terrapin Z replied to Patcon's topic in Wanted
@Patcon If you decide to get Jim's air box instead of mine I would not take offense. I like the early one as it looks cleaner than the flapper one. IMO.

Well I guess I am way off on this topic. I was trying to go off the CPM info and my own experiences with the carbs. It does not seem to match up with member data.

Looking at the carburetor page, I see another break off that might explain the break off better. To Aug 1971 was the 4 screw carb and the non flapped air box. From Sept 1971 -> June 1972 would be the 3 screws carb with the flapped air box. The in July of 1972 they started in on the Flat top, and its air box. This seems to make more sense to me with some later 71's having the flap on them.

Sounds like Jim is your man then Charles. I think my early ones are more dented than rusted.
  13. All the parts still have some value. Some like to date match their cars. A jack from 1970 would start with with a P and a 71 would start with a Q. All fun knowledge about these cars.
  14. The stamp looks like WAH which would be a 1977 / Jan 8th jack. (With Kats, dating system) It also has 4 rivets on the bottom indicating a later jack. The early 70 - 71 jacks only had 2 rivets. The over all length is shorter on the later jacks as well.

This one shows mid 71 which I am more inclined to believe. The transmission change came with a lot of other changes.
  16. Terrapin Z replied to Patcon's topic in Wanted
I am not exactly sure of the pinpoint VIN number change but I expect it would be at the transmission change (A to B) in mid 71. If you have the heat riser on the exhaust manifold that would be a good indicator. CPM says 06/72 was the change over.
  17. Terrapin Z replied to Patcon's topic in Wanted
If your car is the early style you would want the box without the cold air flap / heat riser.

Recently a guy on FB posted he had bought a bunch of Datsun tools and tool boards. He has them all cleaned up and mounted on the garage wall. Makes a nice display. I have the Special tools manual from 9/69 and a couple of mechanic seat covers that I really have never seen before. Do any of you have any info on the seat covers?
  19. I should have something in a donor part if you decide to go that route.
  20. These look as good or better than anything I have. I don't have anything plated or zinced. You can type in your part numbers on a Nissan web site to see if they are available. Save a trip.
  21. Did you buy this set off eBay?? It shows sold as of yesterday. Junkyard Jenny has some nice parts at reasonable prices.
  22. Nissanparts.cc is my local dealer in Olympia, but I always try to look up the part numbers myself. Either with the physical parts book or Carpartsmanual.com @CB Garrett I found 3 bolts so far, I'll have more time to look this weekend.
  23. It is a thermostatic switch to close off the manifold coolant line (the tube across the manifolds). A remedy for over heating the fuel, that did not function well. IMHO
  24. Crankcase breather tube, The large hole goes the the PCV valve on the intake manifold.
  25. Looks like I have mostly parts candidates in the hoard. None of then work smoothly.
