  1. I’ll remember him for sponsoring the best ZCON ever. Savanah, Georgia……air conditioned car show and a race track 500 yards away! Bob and Carol Sharp, Carl Beck and Jimbo and a host of others.
  2. Got a fair bit done this weekend.... Tension rod supports are boxed in and capped. DS firewall repairs and inner fender patches welded in. Battery tray patches welded in. PS firewall patch roughed in and partially complete. That's the last of the big (and complex) holes so things should start flying soon. Parts are on order for Booth 3.0....
  3. Oh...and this was kinda cool.... Standing inside the car comfortably fixing the firewall while it was vertical on the rotisserie ....
  4. That was mostly a joke\
  5. Sympathies and prayers to all his family and friends.
  6. Yes, Lol https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/forger Also, nice work.
  7. I just got the prototype printed. It took ~45 hours and 450 grams of PLA plastic. I test fitted the cover on my diff and there was a clearance issue that I'll need to address in the next iteration. I'm sending it off today to the guy in PA with a forge for him to offer suggestions. That brings up the question, is an operator of a forge called a forger?
  8. God's speed, Will.
  9. Condolences to his family.
  10. Not mine. This is based on their KA24 head which is the direction I was looking at originally. The bucket style valve train and integral cam bearings was going to be a hill too high for me to climb. That's when TonyD suggested looking at the Honda K20. And the rest as they say is history 🙂 I understand why Nismo did this but I don't understand why the aren't going to produce it based on the pictures of the castings I saw. It looks to me that they actually made hard tooling for the exterior and not 3D sand like I use. That's a pretty big expense for a handful of heads. Then again that may be a drop in the bucket for them.
  11. Well, It appears I had a lapse in memory. The receiving end of that bung does indeed point out to the side and not down. The replacement hose looks to be out of stock. So I'm off to source a brass coupler and a 1" hose to join them together. Also, I included a picture of just what that hose looked like coming off the car.
  12. Ah this is sad news.. He was an active member here in the past. I remember him fondly. Blessings go out to his family. Rest well, and drive that perfect Z in heaven my friend.
  13. Had to use a little heat on the fuel filler neck to get it off, but managed to get the tank dropped. It looks like someone tried to coat the inside, but didn't do the best job and there's a bunch of rust in it so I'm probably going to just restore the whole thing while I'm at it. In other good news, poked around at calibrating the fuel level gauge and I think I'll be able to get that into a more accurate spot.
  14. https://sharkhidestore.com/collections/all/products/sharkhide-metal-and-aluminum-protectant It takes the heat well.
  15. That's okay, the strap is going around the inside T/C housing, there is enough room to hold it. I pulled out the windshield from storage the other day and cleaned it up to see what kind of condition it is in, not so good. I counted about 20 pits, a couple of scrapes from the wipers and general sand blasting from hwy driving. Fortunately, I have a friend that has a couple of new windshields squirrelled away in his attic and he let me have one at a very reasonable price. It does have the blue tint stripe at the top but I don't think there's any way to get around that anymore. I'll post some pics when the server error gets sorted out.
  16. I finished the injector wiring. I cheated and used an RB harness and just redid a few of the lengths to be perfect.
  17. We have a high water table - I have a sump pump in the basement that operates much of the year, just less in the July/August time frame. That was the one that died just before we went to Baltimore & partially flooded the basement main area. I'm going to have to figure out what to do about the drainage behind the garage, however I don't want to get sidetracked on that right now, so I'm going to deal with the sill repair & siding, and leave the drainage until later on. Rained all day - so I got the receptacles wired (GFCI at the start of the run, shown earlier) & added a waterproof housing & switch for the new exterior door lighting Cover didn't arrive in time for me to add it before this pic This sucka is bright!
  18. William Stokes, aka @hls30.com, passed away yesterday. He had been battling some medical issues for a while. Now he gets to rest. Here he is on the left from a couple of years back when he went to lunch with a couple of my friends.
  19. I don’t recall a lot of tuning being required, my 260 would constantly sputter to a stop whenever it got hot during the summer. It would restart after a brief cool down, and then act up again. Tried multiple fixes (added 2nd electric pump instead of mechanical one, wrapped all fuel lines, ran copper fuel line in front of radiator) all to no avail. To date, the worst car I ever owned.
