"The Orange"
2 pointsGot the hood and valence installed. Also installed the radio and heater panel along with all of their respective connections. Now just a few interior items to finish up and she's just about done. The lead time on interior parts has been pretty bad due to Covid.2 points

Idle lowers when braking / coming to a stop
Does it do it if you are parked and press the brakes? My suspicion would be blown brake booster,2 points

COVID-19
1 pointLoved the Brian Williams piece. Shots of Trump's butt while playing golf under Williams' extolling his "laser-like focus" on fighting the virus are just classic. Last night's 60 Minutes had a very interesting piece on people who have lingering effects of the virus months after having had it. There may very well be potential for lifelong disability and physical limitations if one is in the group that has those effects - and we don't know yet how many there are, as this is something that plays out over time. For that and other obvious reasons, on Thursday we'll make a drive to Denver (60 miles) and drop off packaged smoked turkey and pie to both daughters, who live about 1/2 mile apart. The older one has a fenced back yard, so we'll meet there, sit in lawn chairs and maintain separation, and have a bit of dessert while we chat. Then we'll hop back in the car and head home. One of the daughters manages the dietitians in an eating disorder clinic, so she sees a few people every day. She took a test last week to check her own status.1 point

1 pointWell, lets see. Trying to look on the bright side of things. With the prospects of this 260Z not being salvageable, my zed just increased a little bit more in value😁1 point

240z Full gauge face kit
1 pointI’ve been trying to make custom HVAC control panels for weeks, does anyone know what material these are made out of? I’ve been doing laser engraving on transparent acrylic. This seems way more thin, almost like a sticker. very clean!1 point

Idle lowers when braking / coming to a stop
You would also hear a hissing noise in the footwell near your brake pedal.. push the pedal with your hand and listen with your ears near it.. Bad connections are always not good... get rid of them..1 point

Turkey Day Coming Soon
1 pointSince this week marks the beginning of the holiday season, I thought I would spread a little early holiday cheer. I always make the jack o lanterns pull their weight and help with the pies. The turkey never has gotten used to the whole process, and always puts up a fuss. So remember, be safe this holiday season, and wear your mask. Seasonal Greetings from Racer's home to yours. Be well.1 point

1 pointMore progress made on the body. Last bit of body work completed on the underside, and the final primer applied. Next I'll weld back in the spare tire hold down. We removed this so that any rust under and between it and the tub could be completely removed. The inside of the car also received primer at the same time. Once dried we began to apply seam sealer in the same locations as the factory did. While the original application was very sloppy, we tried our best to accurate replicate it but with more attention to detail. Need to finish up applying seam sealer to the rear strut towers and a few areas around the firewall. After that it will get sound deadening applied, and then be ready for some color.1 point- Subfloor mounting method?
1 pointThanks for covering for me Site. Looks like I've forgotten most of the details! There were big Phillips screws involved though. I got that part right. And the small ones holding the hinges in place (on one side). Chase, you're in better hands than mine now. Hope you get all the info you're missing.1 point- COVID-19
1 pointThe 2.4% for Wuhan/Covid is way off. Currently with 600K daily infections and 10K deaths, it is roughly 1 in 60, which would be 1/60 or 1.6%. However, the daily infections number is only those that are tested and confirmed. Those with virus that are either asymptomatic or not sick enough to go get tested would make that 1.6% much lower. I would bet that with 600k detections, there are another 400K or more that are probably not detected but walking the streets. A guy I worked on the line with 11 days ago recently tested positive. He did not feel any symptoms really at all, but had to get tested because his daughter tested positive on a test before she could go to school. So I am 'in quarantine' working from home here for the next 3 days. If the guys daughter had not tested positive, and she had no symptoms, my co-worker would never have gone to get tested. Wonder how much that is going on across the US and world.1 point- This makes me want to cry!
1 point- Towing WITH your Z
1 pointI bought a 240Z a while back that had a tow hitch on it, here's the only picture I seem to have of the tow hitch. Looks to be the same as @zKars'.1 point- Removing Rear Suspension 1975 280Z
It’s a tilting scissor lift made by CJ Autos in the UK ... https://cjautosheywood.co.uk/product/3in1-tilting-adjustable-car-lift-1-5-ton-cl01/ I haven’t needed to get it to max lift yet, but once at 75% and tilted, I can happily sit upright under the car and work. The see-saw feature was particularly useful (and equally worrisome) when I was working on all the brakes and fitting the full exhaust system. The only thing it won’t be good for is a transmission removal. While I will never use it on anything other than the Z, if you keep two wheels on the ground, you can lift a car heavier than 1.5 tonnes.1 point- Depressing Early 260z bumper struts
You're correct, chrome doesn't like to be hit - not with a metal hammer. That indent would need to be pushed (pressed - from the backside). Someone skilled might hammer that out but not the way you'd think. I'd advise against trying it yourself (if you need to ask the question, you probably can't complete the task...) Most formed metal likes to go back to it's formed shape unless it's stretched too much.1 point- Depressing Early 260z bumper struts
I hope these aren't huge - Galaxy S20, best camera I've ever had. See, my chopped off bumper strut is still there...1 point- Ugliest Z ever?

1 pointHere's what I do. Dried beef coated with cream cheese. Spear cut dill picles laid on top. Roll it up like a cigarette or doobie, whatever you kids are into these days. Cut them into 1" sections. Serve cold with bloody Mary's. You will be remembered forever as the guy that has good get-togethers. Party on Wayne!1 point - Restoration of HLS30-12070
