So, I have a 6/71 Z and have determined that it should have the cool keys... You know, the ones with round heads and painted black. Any of you hoarders (meant in a nice way 😀) willing to part with your original key blanks? Come on... You know you will never, ever actually need them. It will go to a very good new home 🙏 ... at Christmas 🎄 too. This key blank: Fat groove on bottom when key is pointing to the right. Thanks for looking.

For those who have rust free Z's (yea right) dont look. I have been working on my Japanese lunch box and the right front rocker is getting tricky. This is not going to be a 10 year on the jig project but not a bondo special either. I have a new outer front tip of a rocker, new inner front rocker and the new inner stiffener. The question is does the right kick panel come all the way down to the bottom of the rocker. I dont think it does. I cut away (pic) the outer part of the rocker and will try to grind to fit the new piece up in there and attach to the A pillar. Plasma really helps. This is a real ugly area to work on. p.s. also included is a pic of the inner rocke…

Anybody noticed that the TheZtore.com, aka zcarparts.com, aka MotorsportAuto.com, changed their web site. It's kind of odd, like they had an IT guy who doesn't really know old cars go through it during the "upgrade". Some of the phrases are strange and searching for normal words does not work. I searched for "throwout bearing" and nothing came up, no products match. Searched for "clutch" and found a page for a "clutch collar", whatever that is. Nobody calls it a clutch collar but there it is. Searched for "clutch collar" and found some parts. The site is different but not so sure it's better. Opportunity missed.

After the auction of the BAT 01606 Jan 1970 240Z lots of questions were left unanswered on what is original and what's not on our cars. @zed2made the suggestion of setting up a panel of experts to answer questions and give feedback on originality. I wanted to get the ball rolling. One of the things I noticed is that the Green $310k 04684 May 1970 still had inspection marks on the nuts and bolts, even after 21k miles of use. The 14,000 mile 1973 240Z 160805 now on BAT doesn't have any yellow inspection marks. Question for the eZsperts is when did Nissan stop the practice of using the bright yellow paint inspection marks?

I am looking to add speakers to my 1976 280z. Just looking for decent sound, nothing special. Not looking to put speakers in the doors or kick panels. Also putting an enclosure in the hatch area also out as I don't like that option either for the aesthetics and loss of hatch space. I have found the following options: 1) Factory location: 5 1/4 speakers that mount in the rear quarter panel area Pros: no modifications needed. Cons: I've read that the sound is terrible. Need to acquire/fabricate brackets 2) speaker adapter kit to mo…

Hello All... After almost 2 years of stagnation, I am dedicating myself to completing the restoration of my 73-Z. The heater was completely dismantled, blasted and powdercoated, and now must be reassembled. As I recall, there was a great thread with many pictures somewhere on this site...but I can't seem to find it. Darn...! I lost my laptop a year ago (crashed) where the link was stored. I need help in getting this thing back together...any would be appreciated. Thanks...Ryals in north Georgia

Does anyone have a picture detail of the wiper linkage to wiper motor detail. There is a cup and spring and a few other goodies. I cannot find, in my Datsun book, any detail of the order. Thanks, GI
