When purging gas tank:
That is basically what I did, except that I had about 1 gallon of gas and crap in the tank when i dropped it, so I dumped it in a couple of bleach bottles and took it to our County Hazardous Waste site. The Firefighters around here no longer accept stuff like that. The radiator shop sand blasted out the rust, did a few minor repairs, pressure tested it to 10 lbs. and then sealed it. 3 year full warranty, $175.

Northern Cali meet: yes another one!!
Guus: The elevation of the observatory is right at 4200 feet (approx. 1290 meters), so it isn't extremely high, but it is the highest peak in a radius of 85 miles. The city of San Jose where we started is at / near sea level.

When purging gas tank:
That water would (in most "civilized places" be considered a hazardous waste and would be transported to and disposed of at your local hazardous waste facility. On the other hand, many folks simply take the tank to a raditor shop and have it boiled out instead of messing with it at home. There are some people who do as you stated, and just let the water go anywhere it feels like going. Without care for the environmental consequences. Choices, choices, choices............................

Z car Value
Hey Marty: Check the thread called "somebody got their inheritance". We discussed this a bit and according to Chris (26th) it is Burt's car.

Northern Cali meet: yes another one!!
TONS. (well, maybe not tons, but quite a few) Check my gallery for a special album with 11 pics. Ben and Marc also posted pictures but I don't know where they posted them to. Might try the 50 Latest Uploads link to see if they are still showing there.

Mt Hamilton road
Yeah, it was a good meet. The road is a nice twisty one, but the number of bicylists pedalling up to the summit kinda kills any chance to really exercise your Z. Limited guard rails and shear cliffs also tend to give one pause. No room for mistakes.

why the weight differences?
There are a few links that don't work at the moment. FAQ's is one of them. BUT, FAQ'a isn't where you want to go to find archives.(if that is what you're trying to do) CLick on "FORUMS" at the top of any page, then below the tabs, select "SEARCH" which will take you to a page where you can enter your search criteria.

Z car Value
Bet the owner (Peak Nissan) of the car that started this thread is banging his head on the wall!

280z with 350z headlights...
As I recall, there wasn't much problem with Photo-shopping (although we are a CAR CLUB, not an Arts & Crafts club). It was the SUBJECT (why is it that these artists all seem to get a stiffy over the Z33 Toad?) that was the issue with most people.

280z with 350z headlights...
Nope. I'm staying outta this one, this time. (has nothing to do with your skilz)

someone got their inheritance
Well yes, Burt (cardogman1) is the person I was thinking of. Here is a THREAD posted about Burts car when he bought it. I remember that he did acquire a overrider bar for his car and he did have a bit of an accident with his young son spilling some acid on a dorr panel, as I recall. I checked Burt's gallery for pictures, but it is empty. For some reason he quit posting here and in his last post mentioned that he was participating on the IZCC mail list instead of our website. It is a very nice car, but I'd be surprised if it sells at the price it is being offered. I have been surprised on occasion. Also sorry to hear (if it is) that Burt won't be a Z owner. He is a nice guy. Gave me a good deal on some parts that he didn't need.

IM003768
This is the picture where Marc was STANDING on the handrail, with one hand on a pole that was "loosely set" into the ground. Behind that rail is a verticle drop of 70-100 ft to the roadway below! Nice Picture though.

#390 For Sale! Please Save From the Shredder!!
This car was briefly discussed on the 240z.org mail list, and even Carl Beck (who reveres the first 500 USA 240Z's) felt this was nothing more than a parts car for the few salvagable items it still contains which could aid a restoration of another car. Guess the current bid also suggests that other feel the same. Maybe Fred Flintstone will buy it?

someone got their inheritance
I could be wrong, but I think this car looks like the one that one of our members (who doesn't post much anymore) bought in FL a year or two ago and brought north to NY.

How many quarts used bleeding brakes?
Hey Bill: You would have to remove the master cylinder one more time to check to see if it is in place. The Reaction Disc is #18 in the attached diagram which was originally posted by Steve (greyghost). It will also help you to check out THIS THREAD where we recently discussed this issue.

Adj. T-C rods with stock control arms
Agreed! I have two spare sets for sure and there's probably another set stuffed way back in a corner somewhere also.
-
Adj. T-C rods with stock control arms
Great need? Pffftt! There are two of them on every parts car and they're laying on the ground at most Nissan pick N pull yards. It's a good idea for those who want to improve the handling of their car. For those that don't want to do this , stick with what ya got and let us be.

coyote
We were coming down the mountain at about 15 mph approaching a tight 120 degree turn when this little fella came into view about 5-7 yards in front of our bumper. Only v12horse's quick reaction kept him from becoming a hood ornament.

Hissing and sticking brakes - bad Booster?
The Master Vac "stores" Vacuum (low) pressure that was "created" by the engine operation for use as needed to operate the brake system. Thus air flow must be "towards" the engine (out of the Master Vac).
-
Hissing and sticking brakes - bad Booster?
Could the "Check valve" in the line to the Master Vac be installed backwards?
-
How many quarts used bleeding brakes?
Did the rubber "Reaction Disc" fall out of position inside your Master Vac (Brake Booster)?

If the 240Z were a Woman...
I think not having a Z car anymore has given Lachlan a touch of jelousy.
