So what was the item? I wouldn't think it would be inappropriate to post the pic from the auction and the pic you sent him so that readers of the thread can (perhaps) judge for themselves. FWIW, most sellers that I have dealt with have been more that willing to provide more pictures and detail to a prospective bidder. If a seller will not assist me as a propective bidder, I consider that to be a red flag as well. FWIW #2, Negative feedback is always a viable alternative, and (at least in my opinion) feedback from a buyer generally carries more weight to it than from a seller. If he reciprocates with poor feedback to you, you can "respond" to it to clarify your position. PS: If you didn't see my post before Mike deleted it, I was stating that I had bought from him and only had problems with way over priced shipping and as a result I would no longer consider buying without a firm shipping price quote. His feedback may be 99.4%, but his pictures are generally not good, and shipping is overpriced.

I wasn't trying to disagree with you, Stephen. I know nothing about Roadsters (except that they have 4 cyl engines) and was just going by what I could see in the picture. The manifold is just barely visable in a small area, and seemed to be of a similar shape (in that small area) to my Z manifold.

Hi Ben: A very nice looking car, but I don't think the term "restoration" applies to it. Yes, the wheels do look nice, especially with center caps that fit on the front of the car. (Maybe I did good to buy that set of Rewinds when I did) The description is certainly a little vague for a $13K car. I would have thought he'd want to brag on all the parts and work done to this car to make it worth the price he's asking.

The original thread is discussing USA market 240Z's. Doesn't apply to OZ/NZ market cars. Don't think you guys got it until the 260Z models. Yes, a very few early 1970 USA market Z's arrived without the expansion tank. Don't think you have anything to worry about.

What looks "roadster" about them? Although the picture is not very good at all, it seemsd to have a 6 cyl manifold from what I can see. It looks very similar to the carbs and manifold on my 72 Z although much of the emissions stuff is missing on the auction pieces. Bet they need at least a complete rebuild though, and seller says no shipping, pick up only!

The accident is completely separate from the ticket(s). The ticket are not obeying the law(s). Welcome to the real world. Not wrong according to the law. If you want to play Don Quixote and tilt after windmills you'll get really tired long before anything changes. Exactly. The real issue should be the wrecked Z and the best way to fix it. Nothng can be done about the other crap except to live and learn (or not).

When you sign for your license you are acknowledging that you understand the laws and that you agree to abide by them. If you don't do so, you pay. Having a license physicaly in your possession is a requirement whether you are involved in a accident or not. Period simple as that. Obey or Pay is the way the system is set up, and no amount of whining is going to change it. If getting the ticket and having to pay the fine doesn't teach you anything, you have serious issues. It doesn't matter if the accident is minor or a fatal accident. The drivers have little if any control over it.

I have not found any parts store that carries it. Use the part number provided and order it at your local Toyota Dealership.

Sorry to hear about your accident, CrashNBurn Contrary to ICorganx33's opinion, and as you know, it is fairly standard for a driver to be required to have "physical" proof of drivers license AND similar "physical" proof of insurance in your posession at all times while driving. It has nothing to do with if a person is a victum or a perpitrator of an accident. Like it or not. The good news is that in many cases, all you have to do is to go to court with your "proof" documents and the citations will be dropped. Here in CA they will still charge a small fine to cover their paperwork expenses but they will not mess up your driving record. As for the damage to your car, hoods damaged like this are virtually impossible to repair. I had very similar damage to my car and the body shop spent several hours attempting to straighten the hood before the realized that in addition to the actual bend, the entire hood was bowed front to back. Considering the cost of body shop labor they later admitted that they should have just ordered a new one from the beginning. Good Luck with your repairs

FYI to everyone: Search DOES still work, however you cannot access it from the Home page. You have to start from the "FORUMS" tab, then click on "Search". ....and recommending use of the SEARCH function is a valid response to questions that have bee discussed ad nausium. The Lord helps those who help themselves (when possible).

The vast majority of us in the Bay Area and in S. California (another place with salt water and many exceptional Z's) don't drive our cars in the salt water so it is not a problem at all. Just don't by a car from someone who drives it in ocean! It is salt "on the roads" (i.e. in states that salt roads due to snow) that you need to worry about.
