  1. I think the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages (a cool look) on this one mate. As for what colour - flat black works for me too. Not too sure how easy it would be to clean though. Maybe a satin black would be easier?

  4. Jim, I was meaning the centrecaps for YOUR car!! Remember how you told me 3 were missing? Here's a couple of pictures of mine (sorry about the quality - it's actually a greyish colour). Hasn't your faux wood plastic thing (or is it vinyl??) come off yet? I've never seen a car with a good one!
  5. GOOD FIND!! Make sure you check for centrecaps! The Gloria sounds intriguing.... I'm after a few things: >> Any chrome trim (surrounding the front grille and rear panel) as long as its STRAIGHT - thats the hardest part! (Rear chrome from sedan will not fit coupe) >> Streak and crack-free side door glass both sides (coupe, not sedan) >> GOOD condition auto shifter (you know how they deteriorate) So, just the really hard-to-find stuff! I doubt any car will have those parts, but if so thats great!! I've PMed you with my mobile number. If I were you I'd pick off ANYTHING from that gold one going to the crusher, you'll never know when you might need another windscreen wiper/door handle/air vent/etc...
  6. Very nice looking R32 there Josh! Almost a GT-R There are a few members here in Brisbane/Gold Coast area, don't know about Sunshine Coast though. I don't actually own a Z... but as you might have noticed this site is also home to a few 240K (C110 Skyline as you should know :cheeky:) owners - myself included. I'd get looking for a Z as soon as possible. It might take quite some time to find one you like, for best results I hope you're willing to travel! I got my Z from Sydney (then sold it so someone who drove it back down to Canberra!!).

Fair, driveable condition I'd pay up to 7000 for. That said, you might have more trouble finding the Z than the money...
  8. Rob, open your glovebox and have a look at the tray. There should be the Key Numbers there. If not, the locksmith should be able to cut one from your existing key - tell the guy it's difficult to turn and maybe he'll be able to fix it?? I'm not sure about that but some locksmiths seem to be able to work magic.
  9. Wow, some good lines in that one. I like "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." I'll remember that!
  10. That saddens me - especially the part about the wheel bouncing back into your door!! How unlucky can you be?? Hope you're mates with a panel beater. Things like this happen, you're lucky it wasn't worse :classic:

  12. Maybe we need a FAQ page.. ?
  13. Bill, I dont think it's a 240K - the window looks more like a Mazda RX4 or something, but the roofline is not RX4. I don't think it's a 180B either! I was then thinking maybe a Toyota Corolla Sport Coupe, but it doesn't look quite right and the boot seems a bit long. So.. err.. i dunno
  14. Labor Day weekend? Heyyy nobody told me!!! Ed, can you tell me about bead blasting? I assume you need some kind of machine? How much is one of those? Is it messy? I have a fascination with shiny things so this little shiny thing you posted (I dont know what it is... but my engine's probably got one!) got me excited.

  16. Found this while randomly searching around... there are some great Japanese websites around. Pity (for me) they're in Japanese! Anyway, thought some might be interested to see what happens when you leave a Cedric alone for 15 years. http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~zu3h-sonm/haikyo/haisya1.htm Click on the link at the bottom of the page to see more. Hmm! Also found this link which has brochure covers for a lot of Datsuns (mainly the bluebird - I was thinking of you Chris (ZKid)) http://www.modum.net/datsun/gamle_datsuner.htm Anybody else find any cool links recently and would like to share?
  17. Babel fish is on the net as a service offered by Altavista. Go to http://babelfish.altavista.com/ and you can copy and paste text into the text box for conversion, or just put the URL in the "Translate a Web page" box to see the webpage in English. It's not a very good translation though, so it might not answer your question... but hopefully will be useful for you anyway.

Those bits will be tough (ie expensive) to find now... hope you have contacts in Japan :classic:. I know in the KPGC110 the wheel wells on the rear are actually a different shape because of the flares. The whole panel of course would have to be different too. I'm guessing that's the same for the C10. From previous pictures I thought this looked like a really good - and extensive - replica!! Probably a ground-up restoration I think to have the panels replaced at the rear... Gorgeous. What do you think? Thanks for the pics too! That was a nice entree indeed. :cheeky:
  19. Geez, lots of negative energy here. I'm really sorry to see you go Gary. Hope you cool down and return soon. Really, some good people are starting to fade (or in some cases it's more of a BANG!) away... These are crazy times!!
  20. You prick. I was going to buy that!! Mate, I am so coming to Sydney. Please post more pictures. As much as it hurts, it also brings great pleasure  Any chance of a video??
  21. Just wanted to say I have subscribed to this thread, and I'm sure many others have too. Very interesting discussion... will be good if we can find a product superior to Armor-All. Currently I use Meguiars. Keep up the good work, Sherlock!
  22. Nothing? That link is probably the best resource you'll ever find for your project. If you already know about it, sorry, but I assumed you didn't because you posted it here. Geez
