  1. Thanks Andrew! So I should be replacing the external rubber strip and the inner top strip aswell as the glass? For the mean time I will just clean them. Any Australian members know of a source for side glass?
  2. It's a pretty common problem on old cars, I thought pictures weren't really neccessary - they're long scratches, not cracks sorry. I'll go snap a picture now
  3. Guys, My windows (especially the driver side!) are all err.. cracked? I'm not sure how to describe it. They have lots of vertical lines on them. Anyway, is there any way to repair this? If not, is there any source in Australia for new glass (if you know a place with Z glass they might have K glass too)? Most glass shops (O'Brien and the gang) only do front windscreens. Finally, why does this problem occur??
  4. I use LRP since the engine was made for leaded fuel... I've used unleaded a few times with the additives but didn't really notice much difference except it was annoying to do and not cheap either. I think you can get something done to your engine (hardened valve seats?) which will let you use unleaded. Perhaps someone can clarify...
  5. Hey, it's Japan! What do you expect! The lights I put on ebay are going on a 120Y Coupe. Should definitely be an improvement over the stock lights dont you think?
  6. Awesome!!! I think the pewter beige-ish colour would look great against green. But so would dark grey :devious: It's awesome to see more Watanabes... I think they will look superb on your car. Good choice Chris!! Two thumbs up!!
  7. If you guys find anything good, please post it I'll be doing some suspension stuff soon and have little to no experience with it all, so it would be brilliant to get some good advice
  8. Tom, I sent you a PM. Up the top right you should see a link to your PM's
  9. " Ended: Sep-09-04 14:25:39 PDT" A bit late mate - sorry!
  10. Welcome Tom!! We have quite a few followers here, but lately there's been little action... please post pics of your car! I'd like to see it no matter what condition And it's good that it's a 73 - what's your build date exactly? Not many '73 cars. The GT-R was only produced in 1973 FYI and so as you can imagine it's very rare... And you know what rare means! Expensive. I have a second hand fibreglass replica of a GT-R grille on my car - that cost a little over $400 incl. shipping IIRC, and I think I got a good deal. So yeah even repro parts aren't cheap. The trouble with big parts is the shipping cost As you ask for something similar, have a look at Michael's (Kyteler) gallery. He's got a stock GL grille with the centre cut out, and the whole thing painted black. Definitely a cheaper option and most wouldn't notice the difference... Anyway, welcome to the (sub)club
  11. I WANT THAT SILVIA! Never ever ever seen one before (except in books and that)
  12. are you teasing me? Nice wheel (I love the round holes - I want to get a wheel like that except sans wood), but I meant pictures of the other wheels :devious: I assumed they were Watanabes... are they?
  13. Are you SURE the wiring is good? Make sure you check very carefully on the sockets as corrosion will also stop lights working.
  14. My eyes light up... Pictures? Do we have pictures???
  15. There is an old thread about this - Alan knows a bit about it (fancy that eh?) but the thread is somewhat elusive... I think the conclusion we came up with is that they were common (standard?) in some other markets, and were there to ensure the bumpers wouldn't catch onto things...
  16. That price is... NUTS! oh I can't believe it hadn't been said yet...

heheheheh From my limited experience, car's DONT like to be tinkered with. And they will bite!!! Keep at it :devious:
  18. Hm, Victor were you directing that to me? If so, I know what they look like Quite nice I think, but like you said - a little generic. If you weren't, here are some pics anyway (good old Yahoo Auctions )
  19. Victor - haha I had not thought of that! At least one of the 80s style Watanabe rims was called a "Falcon" too... Chris - Anything like this? http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b54894393 Sounds like you got a little Watanabe sticker Now I guess you'll just have to get the wheels to match??
  20. That's what I said!
  21. Wow that looks a great colour. I hope you're keeping all your chrome because I think the chrome will show up very nicely indeed next to that orange. Well done!
  22. This sounds like a potentially expensive project... and with the prices for a Z in the US soaring I think it might be worth thinking about this. How about buying a car from Australia and shipping it over? They're much cheaper here, and once you've factored in the cost of the conversion... it might work out cheaper that way - plus it will be a *real* RHD. Something to think about at least. We don't have many Z's left here though, so finding one might take some time...
  23. It occurred to me today (thanks to a friend who pointed it out) that the Watanabe logo (the three birds - ducks was it?) looks strangely similar to three "Rebel" logos from Star Wars. I'm not a Star Wars fan so sorry if I got some terminology wrong... Hmm, I found it kinda funny.
  24. Good bit of info - I missed it last time it was discussed. Always wondered about this too.. thanks guys
  25. Did you try getting a new key cut Rob?
