Hey now it is a N15 SSS, and he does only want "fair, driveable condition". I don't think it's too much of a stretch, but depends how much the house deposit is!!! Just one thing I noticed in your post Gav, "www.ozdat.com is another good place to look every wednesday it is updated." It's updated at about 11 or 12 PM isn't it? I usually check it on Thursday morning. Just so you're not 6 days late every week, Mike (Method)
  2. Happy birthday Mr. K! Wouldn't it be cool if he could visit here and see just how much these cars mean to us? Long live our legend
  3. Are you sure that's EMS, and not Regular Parcel Post? I don't pretend to know the details, but I got my grille shipped over and it wasn't with a shipping company!!

Yar, that's what I was trying to bring up in post #73 on page 5 and again in post #91 on page 7... But no one really seemed interested to discuss that except Steve (sjcurtis) and James (240znz) - thankyou guys. Gav, Michael (mperdue) also noted the popup toolbar in post #80 on page 6. Perhaps you misunderstood though - I know I did!! (sorry Michael!) It is a loophole that will only stop the "naive computer user" as you said.
  5. It's nice but... I want two!!

Good idea Mike!! That's really the most we can do I think.

Now THIS is where it starts to get really grey. Firstly, it is an infringement of copyright to modify an image without permission from the original author to do so. Now, once you've modified it, who's is it? If you've just removed the background, it's probably still theirs. If you modify it so much that it's barely recognisable, it could be yours. See how vague it is? How are we to determine just how much we're allowed to 'borrow'?? According to Michael Fulks at http://www.apogeephoto.com/mag1-6/mag1-6mf.shtml : In all cases, it is perfectly legal to make an offline copy of these pictures for solely your own reference. If my understanding of this is correct then Carl, I guess videotaping your favourite show for your own little collection is OK. Is it OK for your friends to watch it with you though?? Hmm... I dont know. The above is just what I've established based on various sources... it may or not be true, but since it's regarding law, it's probably neither!!

In Internet Explorer and Firefox (at least) this has been disabled in the Galleries. That was the anti-leeching scheme, and it works for those who can't PrtScr and crop! The text watermark is a great thing (thanks Mike!). Does Photopost automatically include a digital watermark also? Generally, disabling the right-mouse-button is like locking your car. It will stop your family getting in without a key, but it won't stop a crook. Personally, I do not like the disabled right-click for this reason. Mike, what's your view on this? Do you think it's an effective tool for stopping image theft??
  9. Hi Rob, Sorry I didn't reply earlier... I got a quote for EMS shipping of your 150cmx30cmx30cm at 13kg box. It should be 17,300Yen (Insured at 20,000Yen). So yes, a fair bit cheaper than with the shipping company. Although, this price does not include customs payments once it arrives in Australia and you'll have to deal with the guys at customs (very simple, all I had to do was fax an invoice proving the value). Ahh! Is it a FRP GT-R grille or the steel one do you know? Why did you buy a GTX grille?? I've got pretty much everything I want from Japan now, except ONE centre cap, and those darn red GT badges.
  10. I know some of you guys are fans of the 2000GT, and I recently came across this great website with a whole LOAD of pictures (don't post them in your gallery please :cheeky:). http://www.ies-geneve.ch/2000gt/ It's in French, but hopefully you can navigate your way around easily enough if you're interested. Make sure you click on the galleries!

You might be surprised! I wonder how many people here would actually know how to steal one of those images... that said, those who can make a webpage SHOULD know how to use paint well enough to steal an image. So in actual fact it's mainly just stopping the average user. The ones who like to save pictures onto their hard drive on their home computer for future reference. The ones who aren't plagiarising anything. The innocent ones......... Perhaps this anti-leech stuff aint so flash afterall? Hmm... :cross-eye

Seems a lot of people learned from the thread, too. That's got to be a bonus! This is a subject that I'm glad was discussed - thanks to Alan, Enrique, Mr. Camo, Moyest (ironic isn't it!) and everyone else who contributed I hope everyone is clear now about their rights! In my opinion, it's a very relevant topic.

  14. Hey, it's still a good idea though. Just pop in the additional info if you could, Allan. It might also help if you could do a quick conversion to kg, seeing as some places outside the US use the metric system nowadays. I wonder how much the stock steel wheels weigh...

  17. 50 years ago Nissan set up it's own design department (according to this)! Thought some of you might like this little read: http://www.carpages.co.uk/nissan/nissan_celebrates_50_years_of_design_part_1_20_08_04.asp?switched=on&echo=542921604 It featured in the local paper today. But I have a question - how did they.. errmm... design cars before this? Was it all contracted work? Does anybody know?
  18. Rob, my stuff was all sent through just normal post - "EMS" Shipping for any large parts like that. Don't get it sent yet - it does sound tad expensive. Do you have someone in Japan who's willing to take care of a bit of paperwork for you? What are the grilles Rob? Got a GT-R grille???
  19. Those look like very strange bumpers for a 240Z to me...
  20. Don't want to appear a simpleton, but if your fuse is melting the fusebox you might also want to check it's the right kind of fuse once you fix the problem. I'd guess your problem is what Inf said -"sometimes when the fuse block melts it can cause the connectors to have intermittent connections."
  21. Good stuff!! Definitely not cheap considering they're going to junk it tomorrow, but I'm still happy! About the boot trim - I know the corners won't fit, but the straight middle bit might. :/ I don't know! But if it's perfect, I'm willing to gamble an extra 20 to find out (next time if you get time - no hurry). Thanks for having a look around! I'll PM you about that bonnet trim. Hope you found some stuff for YOURSELF after all that searching for us!!

Wow, look at the action here!!! I had to do quite a bit of research on this exact topic a couple of years ago- from what I understand we have nailed it. If you take a picture the copyright is yours automatically... etc. etc. Just read what Mr. Camo and Alan T said and it's pretty straight-forward. Can we just respect what those who know what they're talking about, and learn from what they have to say? Remember what we decided recently? If you know what you're saying is correct, please share it with us. If you're making a guess, make sure you let us know it is no more than that. If you're listening, listen and say thankyou if you learn something!

The main advantages are it's very quick (much quicker than hotmail), you get 1000 MB of storage space, and messages show up as conversations (looks a bit like a simple forum). I have some invites too.

Hmmm.. Moyest is a good guy, I'm sure he meant no ill. But yeah, you have a point. I don't think I'd like my car to be posted in another gallery without my name attributed to it. Maybe send him a PM
