Article: Honda Wiper Motor Upgrade for the 240Z
Click on the link in the first post. Then find the bitmap file in that link, "Datsun to Honda wiper diagram". It is a diagram of the wiring for the relay.

Steam Powered Z???
I haven't purchased anything from Al in a while. He did a crappy prep job on the last part I bought from him. I thought I could trust him on something that doesn't have any moving parts. I was wrong. I agree about getting the head checked out by a competent machinist.

The Z that almost killed me
While the coolant line being looped would cause overheating (along with the missing thermostat), improper coolant circulation would not cause a pressure build up. That was caused by the radiator cap. It has a pressure rating. Once pressure builds, there is the potential for the weak spot to be found. You found it. Who knows how old and rotten those hoses were? I assure you that bad brakes or a passenger compartment that in an accident could crumple like an empty beer can will probably kill you faster than 220 degree coolant. It's good to hear you didn't get badly scalded. If you're planning on driving it any more before you take it apart, start looking for other old rubber pieces that are ready to give way (brake hoses, fuel hoses, etc.), and give the car a good once-over to look for any other repair kludges the previous owner might have performed.

I'll see what's up with Chet's car. With the auction ended early, something's up.

You might want to get that block cleaned out professionally.

[2014] What did you do to/with your Z today?
Sorry, track day for ZNationals is going to be up toward my house. The Saturday event is going to be at Z1's facilities in Carrollton, GA.

[2014] What did you do to/with your Z today?
Just bring it out to meet with us. No one is going to turn you away because of how your car looks. At least be sure to make it out to Z Nationals. Heck you might be closer to Z1 than I am.

I took the 260Z out to a car show to meet up with other members of the Georgia Z Club. For all of the pictures, go here: Po Boys ? June 2014 (82 Pictures) | Steve's CARtography

I was pointing out the green to my wife just about an hour ago. I saw the car in person at Caffeine & Octane three weeks ago. There wasn't much attention to detail, especially under the hood. I didn't try to look underneath, though, so I can't tell you anything about the floor pans or frame rails.

I felt the white one had a rather poor level of detailing, especially since they were trying to sell it for $16,900 about a month or two ago. It seemed like a $10,000 car to me.

It's a little unusual to see so many 240Zs listed at the same time in my neck of the woods. Datsun Z Series Historical Race Car | eBay Datsun Z Series 240Z | eBay Datsun Z Series 240Z | eBay I've seen the last two in person. I know the seller of the third car. Chet is a member of the Georgia Z Club. This isn't the first Z he has restored.

Rear shock tower bolts/nuts have a dabb of white paint
Yes, I got the KYBs from Rockauto.

Rear shock tower bolts/nuts have a dabb of white paint
I know that in my 260Z, I would feel a pretty good thump at the transition between the driveway and street when going up my driveway. The thump disappeared after changing springs & struts.

Not for Fuel Injection Systems!
I'm just glad it didn't end up worse for you. This is yet another example of why a fire extinguisher is a mandatory item to keep in your classic Z.

Developing story...
I know EXACTLY what you mean, Julio. I'm a little scared myself.

1978 280Z - Getting TOO MUCH Fuel or Not enough? Im stumped - HELP!!!
The transistor unit is for the ignition. Look up 280Z ECU on Google and look at the images. Also, refer to the FSM. That will give you a better idea of where to look. If that fails, bribe me to come over. Diet Mountain Dew usually works.

Nice Backside
Considering Cheetahs were fiberglass, I would say 2000GT.

Nice Backside
In that condition, it's criminal abuse.

How can I test the ignition relay in my 78?

How can I test the ignition relay in my 78?
I'm glad that resolved the issue. If you're on Facebook, join the Georgia Datsun Owners Group. I think one member is trying to have a get-together at his house this Sunday. Also several of us from the Georgia Z Club are going to the Po Boys car show on the 21st. Just look for the events calendar on the Georgia Z Club FB page.

Steam Powered Z???
If coolant is getting into the combustion chamber, it can get into the oil. Water won't lubricate the bearings or other moving parts very well.

Fuel gauge vs gas tank sending unit??
If it's the fuel gauge, you could try Bob's Speedometer. I believe there are procedures to test the sending unit in the FSM. The gauge is trickier to test. I don't have time at the moment to describe testing it. I am not sure where to get a sending unit refurbished. They are NLA.
