  1. Both my 73 & 74 have three screws securing the ring to the filler neck. I'll try to remember to post photos for you.

  3. Make that a late 260Z. My 260Z has a filler neck identical to my 240Z.

  7. It's definitely for the radio. The challenge is to find a wiring diagram that shows the white and white/black wires.
  8. This is similar to what I had in my mind's eye. I was thinking that the block could go into the notch on the ring.
  9. Scene: Chevy Chase is on the phone as Don Pardo announces, "And now Weekend Update with Chevy Chase." Chevy: "No...that's just what they call it...No, you don't actually blow on it." Looks up. "Uh, I've gotta go." Hangs up phone. "Our top story tonight..." To Mark's post, here are pictures of the BMW cap and Z cap. About the only way for the BMW cap to latch would be to clamp down on the ring. You can see the possible range of motion on the BMW cap. Ideally for a locking cap would be for a block on the cap to slide to slot on the ring to keep the cap from turning.
  10. At least you guys could get the cap onto the car. I bought a BMW 1600 gas cap, and it didn't fit. The good thing is that it's easy to remove the ring and look at the fitment for locking purposes.
  11. I bought a couple of sets from Black Dragon a couple of years ago, but installing them hasn't made it to my 'round-to-it list.
  12. What does it look like underneath? How about in in the engine bay, especially around the battery tray and brake master? Is the car usually parked outside with the nose going downhill? If so, watch for rust around the hatch sill.
  13. It's the land of 1000 lakes. You need to keep the windows up in the summer to keep out the mosquitoes.
  14. From the translation I saw on the page: Nissan Datsun 40343N3200 ◆ wheel center cap junk
  15. I also found this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240-280Z-locking-gas-cap-/112011450002?hash=item1a14671692:g:hEYAAOSwOtBXS68n&vxp=mtr Maybe Jai could write to the seller of this one and ask for a picture/measurement of the underside: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-1200-B210-210-LOCKING-CHROME-GAS-FUEL-CAP-NEW-OLD-STOCK-/142005401286?hash=item21102e76c6:g:FykAAOSwa81XRxMQ&vxp=mtr Another one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-Z-SERIES-1970-1976-240z-260z-280z-Deluxe-A-HEAVY-DUTY-LOCKING-GAS-CAP-/112025793011?hash=item1a1541f1f3:g:bX4AAOSwnFZXXbih&vxp=mtr
  16. Someone who has actually seen the locking gas cap, such as @Montezuma, should probably chime in first to say whether or not that is the right one.
  17. This one isn't as bad... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-280Z-280ZX-wheel-center-caps-new-nos-/301650075306?hash=item463bbedeaa:g:lkAAAOSwX8RXHAwu&vxp=mtr
  18. Do you have a spare kidney? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-280ZX-4-Spoke-Alloy-Wheel-Round-Center-Caps-1979-81-NOS-Original-/282044578482?hash=item41ab2abab2:g:JVwAAOSwvUlWs6L0&vxp=mtr I bought a set a few years ago from an ebay seller in the Middle East for around $80.
  19. It's hard to tell if this is the right one, but it looks close. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Nissan-Gas-Cap-w-keys-old-style-Genuine-Great-Classic-Datsun-models-/291790584662?vxp=mtr&hash=item43f012fb56
  20. Have you searched here for threads on windshield installation? I could have sworn I've seen some over the years. Search over at zcar.com, too.
  21. One of the Georgia Z Club members drives past a property that has a garage decorated like an old Texaco station. He finally saw the owner at the property, so he stopped to see if the owner might let the club do a photo shoot there. The owner agreed. It turns out he once owned a 240Z, and he owns a bunch of classic cars. The owner was a wonderful host, and we got a lot of great photos. There were a lot of great cars on hand, including Joe Travis' (@GeoJoe) nice 73. If you want to get to the full photo set, follow this link: https://georgiazclub.wordpress.com/2016/06/12/making-new-memories-284-photos/
  22. I think that may still be available from the dealer. Have you tried ordering one recently?
  23. Actually, I contacted the Middle Tennessee Z guys through Facebook. They are planning to have Z Attack about once every 3 years. The next one is in 2017. They anticipate the 2020 ZCCA convention in Tennessee to go with the 50th Anniversary of the Z celebration at Nissan NA HQ. It will probably be in May as the last couple of Z Attacks.
  24. Which style? 240Z or 280Z? I find it a big challenge to try to figure out good suggestions. That's why I started this thread. Ideally, it would be a part that works for all S30s or a part that is NLA but have a demand.
  25. I intended it to be the threshold plate. While the originals are aluminum, I would think stainless would hold up well. The scuff plates (black plates) are still available for the 240Z. They aren't available for the 260Z/280Z. The later style might be feasible. I don't know if the scuff plates changed in other markets, though.
