  1. Also ... Look into the servicemanual(s) on this site!
  2. As your resistance is about 29 ohms.. that's too high.. It should be lower then 10 ohms.. my 280zx of 44 years old has around 5-6 ohms.. (and it has 1 line broken and i know the spot.. repair with silverglue.. is jobnr10232..😒) I'm sure you have multiple interruptions in your lines (look with a magnifying glass and you will see the spots were it's broken!) Use some silver glue (Little is enough) and put it on with a very small pointy brush.. careful! Silverglue is very expensive as it contains a lot of silver and it conducts electricity very well! You can buy it in a few grams container.. anyway.. we can here in the Netherlands. 😏
  3. Wow.. is this partnumber still available Richard? I had an original years ago didn't need it and sold it (for a lot more) .. My part ended with E4100 i believe. so it has been superseded. (72610-E4600)
  4. Yeah, These days one off parts are made on the spot! No transport needed, look at the military in ukraine! They make the part they need on the spot! By solidworks you mean a brand in 3D printer design stuff? I don't know what it is.. yeah i bet google knows.. ( In the '80's i build a (2D) plotter myself size A3! a commodore C64 computer controlled it. I also did learn it all the letters and numbers etc. in basic/bin.code.. was fun! So i could build myself a 3D printer when i could buy the "head" separately.. no no.. don't say it i got projects enough at this time (still busy with carport and) bought myself some heatpumps.. to install them it costs 1800 euro.. crazy i do it myself!!! )
  5. After all these years.. they are all cracked.. get yourself a 3d printer (or someone who has one) and make them yourself (and sell a few to get even..) Mart.
  6. WOW... So.. as a (direct!) dutch guy i say.. so he's a PODS now? 🙊 sorry had to make that joke.. Oh well.. now he can't screw up any car.. it's all very sad.
  7. POS? Positive? AH!!! Piece of Sh*t! 😂 Hahaha... I had a painter of that kind gave him money for the paint so he could buy the paint, never seen some.. then his POS girlfriend broke my 400 euro windscreen.. (stored at theire home) they said i never brought it to them.. they had never seen it! (It's in my log. i recorded the exact day i brought the screen!) then i cleaned the dash that he took out of the car very well.. and it came back like a turd, completly white from new plastering they were doing in theire home.. 👿 looked for a pic but can't find it.. anyway it was covered in white powder and spiderwebs.. some people..pfff...
  8. Hi, did you look inside with a camera? They can be bad.. Framerails, i made them myself, if you look close they are not that difficult to make yourself.. Especially when you only need the "under the floor" part(s).
  9. (Btw.. i was talking about the new crate engine) NO, we didn't need the EGR in 1981 also no cath.. Those came with the 300zx somewhere in 1988! If this engine has no linings in the exhaust manifold it could be a Dutch market engine. (Maybe the rest of euro also..) but the partnumber says california.. (If you compare the number on the valvecover and in the link i gave above.)
  10. Partnumber says 1981 280zx engine! Engine Assembly - 1981 Nissan 280ZX (nissanpartsdeal.com)
  11. In the video he says it's a N47 head.. so a 280zx engine.. i guess. (I never seen 280z engines here..) Nice find that nos engine! with the orig. part sticker stil on it.
  12. Go look for the prices of parts that seem to be good, like the pully (passified one) is on it's own 95$! I think that there are a lot of parts on it usable or made usable again and that ad's up quick.
  13. And again we all can see that designing (a car) is a job not everyone can just DO! 😂
  14. It's a year ago that this topic was on the "today's listing" and i haven't worked on the car for over a year.. It's still on the lift in the garage.. When the heating stopped working in the garage and i got to ill to work on it.. it came to a halt.. So.. in the coming month i get some heat pumps installed in the house AND in the garage! (Normally i would install these myself. but no energy..) Also the carport is worked on and it will get much bigger, from 6 to almost 12 meters long! (I try to get it finished in august i hope.. normally a days work for 2 people.. 😞 ) As for the 280zx, i'm only looking for a nice trunk cover in blue.. Here a pic of my (sold long ago) red/black inside 280zx 1983. trunk cover.. It's so damn frustrating to be a handy man with no energy.. Or like the energy of a 100 year old... I hope there comes a day that doctors find out what the hell is wrong with me. 😒

It can't get any worse.. the metall will get clean and the rubberparts will get better, if that's enough to let it work well.. we don't no untill we try.. 🤠 If not.. nothing lost!

And? did it work out? It's a gamble but who knows..
  17. Don't know if there is a spring in there.. you could put a black piece of (half a) ring in there to let it pivot some more.. maybe? Maybe the mirror can be taken apart and make the ball on the back a bit bigger? I guess there a 2 screws in the door bit? if you put the mirror with it's back screw on the front hole (so the mirror sits like 2 inch further to the front, i bet that would be enough.. yeah i know you see the other hole in the door.. but the mirror works. 😬
  18. I think the spot were they sit now it to far back? If the right mirror was few inches more forward it would be fine (the vision).. Maybe someone can take a pic of the right hand mirror (In LHD car) seen from the driverseat? Most mirrors are more into the front corner of the window.. i think..
  19. Disagree! I got a special pair of eyes...!! Jokes aside.. most cars if you can get the past of the car, and use magnets, some special (small) places that are almost always rotted cleaned to the metall, then you cán tell if it's a good body. Also use a endoscope for internal rust! NO no... most people drive on the RIGHT right side! (Just messing with yeh..) It's NOT a problem at all as the chassis is made for both! LHD and RHD! Didn't you see this already?? So it's very easy to put the parts from your RHD on the LHD car..... 🙂 I would think it over as Namerow has a point here.. you never know how big a mess a specialist still can make.. (Don't ask!!! pffff...) When the car is completely ready for a drive on a nice day.. then you will know what it all costed, not earlyer..
  20. One of the best rock and roll groups ever, and FROM THE NETHERLANDS !!!!!! WATCH THIS !! It's a song from ... 1973 !! The band was playing from 1961 till 2021 !!! that's 60 years!! and look the energy that the drummer still has!! WOW!
  21. Yeah, i have seen more than once overhere locally that people asked for a chassis s30.. it always made me laugh.. if i could get me one i would buy it! I got enough parts to make me another one! (On the other hand i have to much work already and feel to sick to work on another car so... don't offer me a chassis please! 🤒)
  22. I know someone here in the Netherlands that had a car like yours and it came back from sandblasting and looked like yours.. he went to a specialist and he said.. If you give me 10 grand (euro's) for the repairs of only the rust, i'm not gonna touch it! So he bought another chassis.. There was not a single panel on the car that didn't need work. I already admired your perseverance! I expected a chassis with lots of welds and holes.. (Like most original imports in the Netherlands are having A LOT of welds) and sadly i got right. I wouldn't continu with this kind of rust.. but i think i said that year(s) ago.. It's your car/money.. Has the carshop seen this car? and you got a quote? If it's lower than 5 numbers they are not a specialist/professionalist.. And another tip.. never ever pay the full amount on front, my painter still has to work on my car (polish the complete car as it's an orange..) and he still a grant short. Now he stopped with the firm as he's 68 years old and i'm happy i didn't pay him all Now i can do this myself and keep the money! Good luck, hope you find a guy that wants to work on your car for a reasonable amount of money..
  23. Never heard of that! It's one or the other never both! (I think your cars previous owner didn't know what he was doing?) It could work iff you installed the special oilpump.. but you solved the problem already! 🤠 On topic.. I got a reserve N47 from a 280zx USA. does that have the same exhaust ports as the N47 from the older 280z's? (I'm asking because there are also old and new E88's that are totally different! ) My N47 does have the steel inlays/linings in the exhaust so it must have come from a US 280zx as our 280zx's never had a cath.. I always thought that they were there (Those linings) to keep the exhaustgasses hotter for the catalitic converter, so it chemical reaction's start earlier? Isn't it possible to make the outlet's better ( get rid of the linings and make them a lot bigger for a good flow)? The valves are big enough i think.
