What's it worth?
Cruise in was good! It's a once a year thing. Also made to the Caffeine and Octane in ATL the next day. That was fun also. Steve was there. Barring any weirdness, I'm gonna go to the next one in ATL on Sun., May 1. Let me or Steve know if you can make it. That would be a cool thing. I think it's usually over by 10:30. Here are the details from Their FB page: Details Please note the earlier time! As the weather warms, the crowds grow, so we need to get to Perimeter mall a little earlier. To cooperate with the C&O rules, if you want to park with the group, you need to roll in with the group. We will meet up at REI (1165 Perimeter Ctr, 30338) and drive over to C&O at 6:15. https://www.google.com/maps/place/1165+Perimeter+Center+W,+Atlanta,+GA+30338/@33.929261,-84.3479509,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x88f5095155cc17ef:0x96b74d28c74a56c1 Might be a good place to put up a for sale sign?

What's it worth?
Hmmm, I'll trade you a 5spd (needs bearings) and let you have visitation rights if you bring it over to my house. Sound fair? After all, there is some dirt on the fenders and it is pretty old and stuff……(Starting to sound like Frank from American Pickers, I hate that guy. He would never make it down my driveway). Seriously, when I was at the Chattanooga Cruise a lot of Folks asked where they could get a 240. That would be a close enough to easily sell there if you decided to keep it local. You should have no problem selling it anywhere. If I had the cash, it would be mine by now.

KYB struts?
I don't know anything about those springs but I installed KYB's on my 280 with the stock springs. Like grannyknot said, good price and they handle well for the street. The ride is not too stiff.

Project Boondoggle (or, so I went and bought a Z!)
I've heard the expression "Two eggs in a Hanky" to describe the south end view of a north bound female, but baseballs…….That made me pause. That is a picture that I didn't need painted in my mind.

what are the odds??
Maybe y'all touched his heart seeing 3 Z's together. It would have gotten my attention for sure. At any rate, today would be a good day for you to buy a lottery ticket also.

General rule of thumb, If there is a hole where it used to be solid, it's probably a good thing to repair it. So the next rust hole you come across, either patch it or replace it. That is about as specific as I am willing to offer.

Floor Pans, yes, Rockers, probably, and you never really showed the Dog Legs. Wouldn't be unusual to replace them also. Can't see the extent of the Rocker rot, I say go big and do it all. Patch the front wheel wells and check your frame rails. Call it a normal day in Z land.

New owner of '77 280z from Upstate SC
Nope, I rarely refer to my Z as "Her". Depending whether I'm driving or bent over doing something like tool man is doing, I sometimes use other colorful descriptive language though. Plus, when I said girl, I should have mentioned she was about 275lbs. I'm no lightweight, but I think she could have owned me .

A lot of us have been through ,or are going through, this. All I can say is that you are "bonding" with your Z right now. Your bragging rights list is growing. I once went to the parts store to get something and mentioned that there wasn't a nook, cranny or nether region that I hadn't touched on my car. Maybe it was the way I said it, but the girl behind the counter sure looked at me funny…….. Also, be sure to plug those FI holes before you drop something down there. I'm sure you're not looking for a reason to pull the head.

Possible Fuel Starvation
Ah, that bittersweet moment when you discover that it was something you did/didn't do and NOT something new. I just experienced it yesterday afternoon when mine shut down out of nowhere when I had to be somewhere. Turned out to be a loose connector to the AFM which I had replaced last week.

280z door key lock
Have you taken the lock out? Pics? Sometimes just removing and cleaning will help. These old locks just wear out sometimes. You can source replacement locks from ebay, but I've never used them and cannot attest to their quality. A quick fix, if you needed to drive daily, would be to swap locks with your passenger door. Sorry, doesn't solve you problem though.
