  1. Jimmy Carter once said there should be one single six year term for the President. He stated that in the current system the President is learning the job the first year, doing the job for the next two years, and running for re-election the final year. We don't get our money's worth.
  2. There is a pair of adjustable points inside the cover. Back in the mid seventies I began to be concerned with a dip in the voltmeter at idle. Armed with no volt meter, little knowledge, and a repair manual, I pulled the cover off and adjusted one set of points. Don't remember which set and I don't remember if I opened it or closed it but it worked. Try Googling "Datsun voltage regulator adjustment".
  3. I believe they're adjustable.
  4. Does it have an external voltage regulator? I don't remember when they went to internal.
  5. Compare Congress to a good pot of simmering stock. Every now and then you have to remove the scum that forms on top. There's some good under it.
  6. Synchronicity.
  7. We could start with getting rid or severely modifying the two National Security Acts (Truman, Reagan) that allow Washington to hide all the skulduggery and worse that routinely goes on behind the scenes and eliminate that ridiculous law that states that corporations are the same as a human being. Then we could "follow the money" and get rid of K Street and the lobbyists. No need to try to sort out who needs to go. If we get the corporate money out of Congress, the Narcissists will follow it right out the door.
  8. I frequently talk with Jai. I'll tell her about the new pics in her old thread and let her know everyone says Hi.
  9. Are the drop rates still ok with unmatched pistons and tops?
  10. Did you swap the pistons and tops or just the pistons?
  11. As well as identifying what needles are in there, it may be a good idea to see if the nozzles are stock 100s. I see that Ztherapy sells different diameter nozzles. I know little about the different nozzles available or how to identify them, but if the PO installed larger nozzles it would run pig rich.
  12. I'd keep it as original as possible with one exception. Well, maybe two. I'd swap the automatic for a five speed but bag and tag every part that's removed in the swap. I'd also put SUs on it but that's just my love of trouble free carbs and all things mechanical.
  13. Interesting. Yesterday it was announced by ABC news that the Oregon and Washington supply of the Pfizer vaccine was to be cut by 40%, for now. In the same breath they added that Pfizer has millions of doses in storage waiting for shipping instructions. Anyone care to speculate why the left coast is getting less than was promised?

Good news today. Kathy's Covid-19 test came back negative. We're both going to stay home for a few days to see if we remain asymptomatic.

Well, CRAP. Our daughter and her boyfriend have just tested positive for Covid-19. Neither one has severe symptoms, so far. Kathy had the most recent contact with her. Kathy got tested this morning but no results back yet. I sure hope we've dodged this bullet. There's still the possibility that Kathy and I had it last April and hopefully have enough antibodies left to fight it off, if we have been exposed to it. We were never tested for it back then.
  16. It's predominantly rust. I saw a lot of that when I worked for a ship repair company. I'd hot tank it but I'd probably put a few of drops of muriatic acid on it first, just for fun.
  17. The extra $17.00 that O'Reilly charges probably goes towards all that advertising that we wish would go away.Timken bearings have always been my first choice.
  18. I agree. The bowls should be the same with the confession that I've never had a reason or felt the urge to remove the float bowls from the carb bodies.
  19. I don't mean to over simplify this but have you tried grabbing the base of the needle (not the tapered part) with pliers and give it a bit of a twist and pull at the same time?
  20. I own a 1st gen. RX7. The elec. pump in it is virtually silent. Many z owners over the years have reported using the 1st gen. RX7 pumps (not sure about later gens) with satisfactory results.
  21. I use Ospho which uses phosphoric acid as the active ingredient. It removes rust quite well and leaves a film of iron phosphate. When I'm ready to paint I wipe the area down with a little baking soda, and water on a sponge. Then a water rinse and a wipe down with lacquer thinner.

Well, There's good news and bad news. The good news, Kathy was exposed to Covid-19 by another volunteer last week. She was tested yesterday and received the negative results back today. She'll be quarantining one more week. The bad news, There must be some kind of memory scrubber in the infrared thermometers the stores are using to check customers temperatures. I went to the store yesterday to pick up milk, and bread. I came home with beer, donuts.

He can't control Covid 19, nor can he throw it under a bus. The only other option in his playbook is ignore it and hope It will go away like a miracle.
  24. Sociopathic Narcissism fits too.
  25. Instilling fear of "something" and instilling the belief that "someone (egotistical, charismatic leader) and an egotistical group (pick one) has the ONLY answer is the basis of mind control to gain and retain power. "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
