I couldn't find any dates on the FSM for 1971 but on my 1972 FSM © is 1972 and it says "Printed in Japan".

The first pic that 26th posted is exactly what my '71 and '72 FSM look like.

You recall well...here is what my two say and they are both the single combine volume: Service Manual Datsun 240Z Sports Model S30 Series Engine Chassis and Body 1971 Service Manual Datsun 240Z Sports Engine Chassis and Body 1972 Now all I need are the 1970 and 1973 and my FSM collection will be complete. Anyone got either of these that would like to help complete my collection?

Do you have the short or long pigtail versions? What condition are they in?

Michael, can you tell me more about the one you posted the link to and email me the additional pix you said you have? Do you know what they want for it?

Over priced! There's no engine or tranny and it's rusted out so the body is trash. He wants way too much for it.

Yes, they do have lots of parts. I have been there a few times and got some things. Jerry (the owner) is not always the easiest person to deal with on the phone and don't bother by email but once you're in the shop it's not so bad. Don't look here for any series I parts though, I have and do regularly and they don't have any.

Where'd you find it and how much are we talking about...roughly?

Yep, he started the hack job on it right after the eBay auction ended. Go and search the thread on hybridz.org and you'll find out more information as this is where he was posting updates (at lease early on) about what he was doing.

So then a good question is how (it it's even possible) can one be made to fit and work in the early Z cars whith the L6 engine?

An L6 5-speed is somewhere around 70lbs give or take 10lbs from what I recall when I last moved the one in my garage.

Yep, looks stock to me too. I just tore down an '82 engine not too long ago and I have one from it that looks like this one.

Beautiful seat and I'd love to have it but I bet what I have to spend would insult you. Best of luck. Get out there and find a new job before you are forced to sell things you do not wish to...like this seat...and the car it's in.

I believe it and would expect at least that much hp with a twin turbo set et all like he has. These engines are capable of a lot of hp but like the othes said, it takes time and money.

Now how did I miss those carbs? I've been keeping an eye out for a tripple set up and didn't even see these. I've been watching these timing sets for a while and just can't bring myself to buy one. Have you received it yet? I just realized that the cam sprocket in the pic is an adjustable one! Is it really?

I wish you had watched it, I could have made a little more money and even delivered it to you. The buyer may flake out, he doesn't sound very convincing yet about coming to get it...he's NW of DFW. They charged me $150 but didn't really have to do anything except pull it apart to make sure there were no problems then put it all back together with all new seals. It was worth it to me to know that this is a solid tranny and I should have no problems after I install it...I don't want to have to pull it back out again.

Thanx for the update Jim, please do keep me posted on what you decide to do. A 32gal parts cleaner...I'm just not getting a mental picture of how big that is. What would you say you could fit into it? Or are you back in Houston yet where you could shoot a pic of it and something else showing scale?
