  1. The local Z wiz has told be before that 750RPMs is the correct idle speed.
  2. Wanna see pix of this done to a 350Z? Check this out!! This car was at the Z car show in Sept. here in Texas. http://www.pape.ws/gallery/2004_Capital_of_Texas_Z_Car_Show?page=1
  3. That's cool guys, I know how easliy this can happen.
  4. 911....911....9-1-1.... Someone call the police....my thread has been stolen!!
  5. The shift knob that was in it was not stock and it's disintigrated any how. The fuel tank was sold last year. Sorry guys, wish I could help you out with these parts.
  6. Wish I were in Cali too...
  7. Courtesy Nissan by any chance?
  8. I have a few questions: Can anyone tell me what size flywheels the different Z cars have? Also, how interchangeable are they? How do you determine what flywheel you should install (i.e. based upon engine block, tranny model, etc)? And how do you determine what clutch you need to buy (i.e. based upon engine block, tranny, flywheel, etc)?
  9. Here's Rebello's website: http://www.rebelloracing.com/ There is also a place in GA call Sunbelt Racing that is supposed to be good and they do the 3.1L strokers as well: http://www.sunbeltperformance.com/
  10. Yes. Major PITA I'm sure.
  11. Yes, now that I sit back and look at it I'm wondering what I am thinking...trying to get all this done this fall/winter. :stupid: I wold tend to agree with you about the engine bay color but there are a couple things I'm working with here, one is the protection of the area and with POR-15 I should never have to deal with the engine bay again. The second is that I'm not any where near ready to paint the car so I can't do the engine bay very well; and I'm not pulling the engine again just to paint the area. Now as for any other feedback....does anyone have any???
  12. No replies. Does this mean that everyone sells them for about the same price?
  13. In case anyone is interested I sent the seller this email: and I got the following reply: Some of what he says I can understand. I hate all the tire kickers when I am selling a car but that's part of the process and must be expected. It sounds like he is just unwilling to deal with those types and does not have the time or patients to either. However, some of his attitude is a little negative and would probably tend to put me off too if I was in the market to buy this car.
  14. Please post a pic. It this is the non-flapper model I want it.
  15. Post a pic of the nut you need. Someone in the states may be able to get them for far less and ship to you.
  16. Anyone know of a good place to get the HKS 2mm big bore head gasket for cheap?
  17. Please help me out a little here. I'm working on an engine build and trying to get everything together that I will need. I have the main engine covered (block, head, internals, gaskets, etc) I think. FYI, working on a stroker if this info is important. Additionally I will need the external components and have created this list, please let me know if anything is missing: '79 Mazda RX7 OEM electric Fuel Pump Turbo Z Car Oil Pump Water Pump Alternator some ignition system but not sure which (suggestions?) New clutch (probably a Centerforce) Now while the engine is out I have also compiled this list of things to do from another thread here (I'm also swapping the tranny and diff at the same time). Please let me know if I'm missing anything on this: Strip and redo engine compartment with POR-15 Replace steering rack bushings (use urethane ones right?) Replace steering coupler disc Replace motor mounts with Datsun OEM parts Replace tranny mounts (what part is recommended, OEM?) Replace clutch slave cylinder Replace front diff mount with solid unit from ArizonaZCar Replace half shaft and drive shaft U-Joints with spicer U-Joints Input is very welcome as this will be my first go at this kind of project and really need all the help I can get.
  18. I read a thread a few weeks ago about "what to do while my engine is out" and can not find it now. I remember that there was some really good info in there and wanted to review it again. Can anyone point me to this thread?
  19. Well, I've just ordered mine and can provide pix or other info after I get it if anyone is interested.
  20. I had a Centerforce in an Accord that I autox back in '92 and it held like you wouldn't believe! I could easily make the stock clutch slip but never could do this with the Centerforce...in fact I destroyed one in a way that the shop had never seen. I downshifted from 4th to 2nd at 60mph and blew up...it didn't slip...it grabbed hard. Yes, it was a dumb move one of those nights I shouldn't have been driving when I was young.
  21. I'll be trying to pull these this weekend if it stops raining long enough. Just a question on the mustache bar...Is there a way I can get away with pulling it without pulling the whole diff?
  22. Hey catfish, sorry for the delay...I found that I have at least one of the kind you are looking for. How many do you need? If you need more than one I'll look through the box that has them over the weekend for more (I have several in a can in the box but happened to find one just sitting on top of the box).
  23. Just wait guys, they always shoot up at the end.
  24. As items are sold I mark them as such in the original list, so that list is current. If you want something that's not on the list you must ask since there is still a stuff on the car and I could not begin to mention all of it. I can say that the interior is pretty well stripped out except for what is listed, there is no glass available, the doors and fenders are rusty so they are worthless.
  25. Very nice idea!! I may be interested in this down the road a bit (a headlight upgrade has been in the back of my mind since I got the car)...but would also require the installation instructions. If you have the instructions available now I'd really like to review them, can I get a copy?
