  1. It's like prying into the Waco Kids business, don't want to but "I must, I must!"
  2. Yeah, she's my "Pride and Joy". It dulled down a little, that was right after the last coat was sprayed on. I think I matched it to the color of my beer bottle pretty darn close, subconsciously.
  3. Are you using a spray bar or a drilled cam, or both? I like your valve cover's inspection window/ garage door.
  4. I'm calling it a day until after ZCON. Have some things to do other than the Zs, and I need to look at some different cars other than mine. BORED
  5. It not a factory color is what jumps out at me, lessens' value. I like originality for that much money.
  6. I've looked at Black Dragon's catalog, page 55, they show the engine side for $55. Called my Nissan parts guy and he says there none from Nissan on both hoses. I was telling him about MSA having them and he said they probably get them formed up at some type of hydraulic hose business for resale. Maybe worth a phone call to a local hose shop to see if they could form some up for you? Good luck.
  7. From the article I remembered a girl I dated in high school whose Dad had a TR8. He let me drive it a couple of times and that was hoot. Very quick little car. Now he's passed away and I'm thinking I might try and find out where it is. Thanks for the link and jarring my memory
  8. Looks good Steve! Did you use the MN47 head? Just noticed the block off plate is why I ask. Ready to see and hear some video of 3rd gear chirps.
  9. Anybody know off the top of their head what's the thinnest a head can be before it needs shimming?
  10. Jump a train to Memphis. You gotta go!
  11. I'm thinking (looking at the picture) you have heater hose for high pressure fuel line going into the fuel rail, not good. It looks the same as the 2 smaller ones on the heat plate for the thermal vacuum switch. It may be okay for now but I've read that heater hose deteriorates with fuel, possibly getting into your injectors and clogging them up.
  12. Good advice. I've done more than I ever thought with 280 valves, more trouble I mean.
  13. He thought he'd figured a way out of cutting the grass, you gave him a hug! That's great.
  14. I like your break in procedure. Break it in like you drive it, I learned that with V6 Mercury outboards, run them hard for 1,320 feet and idle back to the trailer. I wish I had've been easier on my body though, my suspension's shot to hell. Oh well, that's why I have a doctor.
  15. I would google that then click images or look at the wiring schematics for your year at xenons.com.
  16. I learned a trick from my BMW days, I put a new slave cylinder on about every other year. Get a big syringe from a Veterinarian and put a long tube on there. Stick it down the clutch reservoir and suck all the bubbles out. Probably won't fix your problem but I like to try anyways. Cliff
  17. Maybe they'll mate and bring a good running Z into the world.
  18. Couldn't speak from the excitement of meeting Mario? Or too much Newman's Own Red Wine Vinegar?
  19. Hard to beat this one though at $13, http://www.amazon.com/Alltrade-648831-Nissan-Timing-Holding/dp/B0002Q8TV4 I used a long screwdriver handle the first time I took on off, damn near couldn't get it out. Bought one of these, slick as butter going in and coming back out.
  20. Are you going to use the oil slinger on your's? I lost mine when I was rebuilding my 2.8 and forgot all about it until it was too late, front cover was sealed up tight. I can't decide whether or not to use one this time. Thanks for an opinion, I tend to worry too much over little stuff like that. Cliff
  21. I've been looking around and none of the kits show one, but the "how to rebuild" says it plain as day. I missed that on the last motor. I think I'll use a light film of this;
  22. I've taken 4 stock motors apart in the past few years and don't remember any of them having one.
