  1. I don't think so. I've been reading too much "how to modify". Sorry.
  2. I apologize, I should have said "cut outs". Here's a E head manifold gasket on an N47 head.
  3. I haven't fallen off yet! Bud Lite and a nail gun makes for a quick build. Too quick on that one.
  4. He's gotta remove the head anyway, E31 currently, N47 on the indoor motor. These make it easier, $13 at amazon.com. EDIT: I just read where you're going to use the N47 head. I'm probably wrong but won't the fuel injector holes have to be welded over for carbs? and the exhaust ports are different.
  5. If you've got those nail head connectors loose on the sending unit you're half done, they were a huuuge pain for me. Putting them back is even more fun, FYI. Dropping the tank is not as bad as you think, piece of plywood on a floor jack, let it down a little at a time and remove the hoses as you go. The big one at the filler hole is the toughest. Soak the hose connections and the tank strap bolts the day before with white lithium spray grease, it sticks better and won't drip in your face. You'll have to drop it sooner or later if the pick up is bad.
  6. I like that Guy, Fieri, he takes the biggest bites I've ever seen. I thought I had a big mouth, fist bump! Yeah they're homemade, every Sunday I make 2. Bottom bun, lettuce, grilled onion, cheese, meat, tomato, top bun. Starting to play with stuffed patties, mozzarella cheese between two thin patties is my favorite so far.
  7. Get rid of the points distributor, ZX E12-80 electronic ignition was good for me. Choke lever holder mounted to the tunnel instead of the console makes a much firmer movement of the the choke. Clean and seal the fuel tank, replace all the hoses too.
  8. HaHa! That's out on my kitchen's balcony/deck. I live upstairs and bought the nicest and biggest leather couch I could afford. Didn't measure beforehand though and had no way of getting it upstairs so I built a small deck and put a door where a window was. Me and some guys from work lifted it up from a truck onto the deck then brought it in the kitchen, over the bar top into the living room. Lots of work but I have a nice couch and a 12'x8' deck. Here's my dumba$$ building skills. Had to cut the scaffold jack to get it out. EDIT: I sat my new couch downstairs with two Zs for a month while I built the deck. Had some friends over to watch a ballgame in my garage. They got a kick out of my SNAFU but who's laughing now?
  9. I keep everything! It just needs to be cleaned usually. Need more storage space though, it's getting hard to find stuff. Maybe more brain storage would be better?
  10. Are you sure it's not PPG? Pittsburgh Paint & Glass? They're a great company.
  11. Which balance tube are you using? I want to simplify mine, like yours. What are those 2 nipples behind the front carb for? Vacuum advance and what else??? EDIT: Okay, I see now on ztherapy.com, it's the Euro tube. I think I figured out those nipples, I'm guessing they are '70 carbs. 2nd EDIT: They're on the intake, not the carb. I woke up too early. I have the E88 intakes, they're not on them. Yours, maybe E34?
  12. HaHa! I'm interested in your new coil set up, so if it works out good you'll be pestered to death by me.
  13. 240s are different. Sending unit is right above half tank weld, facing the front of the car on the passengers side. It's a bee itch compared to the 280s drop in unit.
  14. I'd like to hear the story on that one.
  15. This works good too.
  16. If it's haze you could make it better by polishing. There's a youtube video that I liked and will do sometime soon. My red 240 has some kind of laminate separation that looks like a Greatful Dead T-shirt.
  17. Blue and his pictures strike again! I've done tons of stuff after looking at his pics. LaBatts!
  18. I'm starting to like work, it gives me a good excuse to ...?
  19. On this chart, go ahead and put mine at the bottom. I'm hoping for turtle vs hare finish. Slow but steady, my life. "Ahh ruppee duppee do"
  20. Neat read on that Pace Car. Thanks!
  21. But he'll get you a deal on a hotel room. :: :: :: ::
  22. Get the Wick Humble "How to Restore" and Tom Monroe's "How to Rebuild". Use this forum. Everything else is wasted money.
  23. There's two not far from me, Hokes Bluff Auto Parts. They're online with the salvage parts lookup program. http://www.car-part.com/ '83 and an '84. $100 and $125. Call them and see if you're interested, I'll go and take pictures then get it and mail it to you. Maybe we'll get both for a deal? I'm sure they've been sitting for years, money talks out there.
  24. I'm jealous. My machine work is taking too long. He's been in business a long time and I'm new, so I wait, patiently.
